Chapter 1975: You’re embarrassing me

After I took control of the bracelet, Insectum suddenly disappeared.

It wasn’t that the spider itself had disappeared, it was just that it was no longer talking to me.

It even felt as if there was something that disappeared from the spider, something that one could only feel and not touch.

Since it had been my guide this entire time, I reached out towards it to give it a ride since I felt that I would have more to say to Insectum later.

Only this spider didn’t seem interested in coming with me.

Instead of getting on my hand, the spider just seemed to move back and up towards the ceiling. It seemed that it had shot some web behind it and was using that to carry itself away.

When the spider was gone, I couldn’t help feeling strange about the way that it disappeared.

It was as if it just didn’t want to come with me…

But I suppressed this feeling and turned around to leave this room.

When I came out, I found that Klein and the royal guards were currently having a staring contest with the elite guards. It was as if they had been prepared to charge in and come grab me with how they looked at the elite guards.

It was only when they saw me come out that they stopped doing this.

Thinking about it, it seemed like quite a bit of time had passed.

I had been completely focused on handling the things that Insectum had wanted me to handle that I had completely lost track of time.

Perhaps something might have really happened if I didn’t come out when I did.

Once I came out, the first thing that Klein and the royal guards did was come forward to surround me as if they were afraid that something was going to happen.

Even though it had already been proven that these elite guards weren’t going to do anything, it didn’t seem like they trusted them at all with how they were acting.

But then again, it wasn’t as if I would be able to change their minds with how they were acting.

So all I said to the elite guards was, “Let’s go back and see your queen.”

They nodded in agreement before turning to lead the way without a single care about how Klein and the royal guards acted.

They didn’t seem like they wanted to follow at first, but then they still followed them since they knew that there was nothing else that they could do here. If they didn’t follow the elite guards, it wasn’t as if they would know the way out of this place.

After following the elite guards for a bit, we returned to the same place as before where Queenie was waiting for us.

When we came in, the first thing that she said was, “It seems like you were able to claim it in the end.”

Though when I looked at her, it seemed like she was still laying there as if she wasn’t that interested at all.

A strange look appeared on my face when I saw her like this as I remembered what Insectum had said to me.

It was as if Queenie could guess that I was thinking strange thoughts as I looked at her, so she said, “What are you looking at me like that for?”

“It’s because of how lazy you are.”

I wasn’t the one that said this.

The one that said this was a spider that had suddenly appeared in this room.

It was Insectum that appeared all of a sudden.

“What are you doing here?” Queenie asked in a surprised voice.

The surprise wasn’t from the fact that Insectum had taken over another insect, it was just the fact that Insectum was here talking to her.

“Why shouldn’t I be here? I’ve already talked to our guest, so there’s no reason for me to hide myself.”

“You’re embarrassing me.” Queenie said without any hesitation.

Insectum just calmly said, “I’m not embarrassing you, you’re embarrassing yourself. If it wasn’t for the fact that I created you, then I really wouldn’t have made you my messenger.”

“Enough of that, get out of here.”

Though they were a god and their messenger, it seemed like the relationship between them was something completely different.

Queenie and Insectum had already both mentioned that Queenie was one of Insectum’s creations, but the way that they acted was different from how a creator and its creation would act.

The way that Queenie acted really didn’t have any respect that a creation should show their creator.

The way that Queenie talked to Insectum was just like a teenage daughter that was rebelling against their parent. At the same time, the way that Insectum spoke to Queenie was as if they were nagging their troublesome daughter.

The two of them really acted more like parent and child rather than a god and their messenger.

With the two of them acting this way, there was an awkward mood that soon filled the air.

Klein and the royal guards had confused looks on their faces since they had no idea what was happening, but they could still feel the awkwardness that was coming from the two of them.

With a sigh, I explained to them who the one possessing the spider was.

When they heard this, they couldn’t help looking at me with a strange look that made it seem like they didn’t believe what I was saying. It was just that there was nothing that I could say to deny this since this was the case.

Trust me when I said that I really wanted to deny this situation.

After a while, it seemed like the two of them were done talking to each other like this as they calmed down.

Insectum said with a cough, “I’m sorry for this embarrassing scene. It’s just that no matter what I say to her, she really doesn’t listen to me.”

“If you didn’t keep saying it, maybe I would listen.”

The two of them couldn’t help throwing one more jab at each other.
