When the barrier cracked, Queenie looked at me with an awkward look.

The meaning of the look on her face was very clear, but it wasn’t as if I would let her off just because of this.

If she couldn’t do it, then she couldn’t do it.

Since she couldn’t do it, I just needed to use the right ’motivation’.

“I gave you a chance.” That was all that I said before bringing the thing in my hand down as if I was going to drop it.

“No, wait, don’t!” That was all Queenie got to say before I shattered it on the ground.

The moment that the thing shattered on the ground, there was a new variable that was introduced to this place.

As soon as this new variable appeared, the first thing that it did was look for something to attack.

It wasn’t that it was naturally aggressive, it was just that it had been trapped for a long time without being able to obtain sustenance. As such, it was in a weakened state and needed to drain energy from something to survive.

Of course, I was much closer to it than Queenie or the bugs were.

That was why the first thing that it chose to attack was me.

It was just that when this happened, the thing that was on the ground suddenly stopped moving towards me. With the way that it was trembling, it was as if it realized that there was something to be afraid of.

And that thing that it was afraid of was me.

The thing that I had tossed to the ground was a sample of the corruption energy.

I had gotten into the habit of taking samples of corruption energy with me since there’s no telling when I would need it. After all, I was going to meet the god’s messengers, so there was a need for this corruption energy from time to time.

Since it was weakened corruption energy, it was easy for me to control.

Though it certainly wouldn’t have been easy for others to control this thing.

I was able to do it all because of the powerful divine energy that I possessed which was also what this corruption energy was afraid of.

Once I saw that the corruption energy was coming at me, I immediately covered myself in powerful divine energy. This divine energy was the thing that was the nemesis of this corruption energy and in its weakened state, it certainly couldn’t match the powerful divine energy that I possessed.

If it were to try and attack me while I was surrounded in powerful divine energy like this, there was no doubt that it would have been purified.

Which was why the corruption energy chose to move away from me and head in the direction of Queenie and her bugs.

She looked at me as if she wanted me to take care of it, but I just ignored her plea while saying, “If you want to protect yourself, you’ll have to raise that barrier.”

When Queenie heard this, she looked at me as if she thought that I was crazy.

As the corruption energy came closer and closer to her, it seemed that Queenie really had no choice. So the bugs started to glow once more as she sent her divine energy into them.

She was doing her best to form a barrier with the bugs that she controlled, but the barrier was still at the same level as before.

When this divine energy barrier appeared at first, the corruption energy stopped moving as if it recognized the divine energy barrier that appeared in front of it. Then after a while, it started attacking different parts of the divine energy barrier.

With the way that the corruption energy poked at the divine energy barrier, it was as if it was testing the power of the divine energy barrier.

Eventually, the corruption energy was able to find some weak spots and break the divine energy barrier.

When this happened, Queenie didn’t hesitate to send more bugs to the parts that were broken to repair the divine energy barrier. However, from the parts that were broken off, the corruption energy was able to take away some of the bugs that had been making up the barrier.

As the corruption energy did this, it started restoring power from breaking down these bugs.

Once it gained more power, it seemed like it was even easier for the corruption energy to break off parts of the divine energy barrier.

Queenie was doing her best to make up for this and improve the barrier at the same time, but it seemed like the corruption energy was getting stronger than her at a faster pace.

It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the corruption energy completely broke through Queenie’s barrier.

Or this would have been the case if not for an icicle that suddenly hit the corruption energy.

Half of the corruption energy suddenly disappeared when this happened and the corruption energy withdrew from attacking Queenie’s barrier. It seemed like it was afraid to make any moves with the way that it huddled like that.

However, there were no further icicles that came out.

Queenie looked at me as if she was expecting me to do more since I was the one that fired the icicle in the first place, but I didn’t do anything after this.

Once it realized that it wasn’t in any danger, the corruption energy started making moves against Queenie’s barrier once more.

Queenie did what she could to stop it, but she just wasn’t able to stop the corruption energy from building up strength again.

Though when it regained a decent amount of strength, that was when another icicle would hit it.

This would continue on and on as Queenie’s barrier became stronger and stronger.

It was a form of extreme training, but this was how far I had been pushed.

“If you want to be lazy, then I’ll make it impossible for you to be lazy.”
