Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1984: I have something to share

Chapter 1984: I have something to share
When morning came, the racial alliance immediately gathered once more.
It seemed that they wouldn’t leave the matter from yesterday alone.
The ones that had even pushed for a solution for the matter seemed even more worked up than they were yesterday. The looks on their faces were as if they hadn’t slept at all.
It seemed that their worries had kept them up all night and that was why it made them even more frantic about all of this.
In fact, it seemed like they were going to be even more direct about it.
“Your majesty, what is your opinion on this matter?”
A few minutes into the meeting, that was the question that was asked of me.
It seemed like they were no longer going to wait, they were going to force this answer out of me.
The respect and fear that they had for me wasn’t going to do anything at this point since there was something that overrode that.
One could only remain civil when they knew that their lives weren’t in danger. Once their lives were in danger, they would do all that they could to guarantee their own safety.
Especially self important people like these representatives who cared most about themselves.
This world did run on a noble system where nobles were above commoners and it was only natural that nobles would be chosen as representatives. They were the kind of people that really only cared about themselves and their own self gains.
I calmly looked at the one that asked this question before suddenly asking, “What do you think that I can do about this?”
Their expression turned ugly the moment that they heard this, but they forced themselves to remain calm as they said, “I wasn’t expecting your majesty to do anything, I just wanted to know if you had any opinions on this.”
Well, the people that were chosen as representatives were chosen for a reason.
It was impressive that he kept his calm after this pointed question from me.
Still, it wasn’t as if I had anything for him, so I just said, “I really don’t have anything to add to this. I know what you’re thinking, but it isn’t as if I know everything in this world.”
Once again, there were ugly expressions that appeared on their faces.
It was just that there wasn’t anything for them to say this time.
Just like I had said, it wasn’t as if I would be able to give them all the answers in the world.
There were things that I knew and things that I didn’t, it wasn’t as if there was anyone in this world that could give them all the answers that they wanted. Well, unless they were someone that wasn’t really mortal.
Once I said this, it wasn’t as if there was anything else that they could say.
I knew that I was the last hope that they had to explain this and perhaps provide an answer to this phenomenon. They were hoping that I would be able to give them some kind of defense against this.
But it wasn’t as if I didn’t have anything for them at all.
There was a reason that I had pushed Queenie that hard yesterday.
After a long silence lingered in the air, I suddenly said, “But there is one thing that I do want to share with everyone.”
As soon as I said this, all of them suddenly looked up at me with focused looks.
This was the kind of trust that they had in me, it could even be considered a kind of faith. Though it certainly wasn’t something that was healthy if one thought about it in terms of racial alliance.
But for now, it did help me.
“I have come up with something that can help protect all the members of the racial alliance.”
Though they had their faith in me, it didn’t seem like they believed what I was saying right away. Everyone looked at me as if they were waiting for me to explain what I meant by this.
However, it was much easier if I were to demonstrate it.
“This is one of the god’s messengers that I met during my travels and have made a contract with.”
After I said this, I raised a hand that had Queenie in it.
She had been waiting on the side since I had asked her to remain on the side, so I just picked her up when it was time to show everyone.
Though when they saw her, there were obvious looks of doubt on their faces.
I didn’t need to think about it to know what they were thinking.
After all, I had the same reaction the first time that I saw Queenie.
She really didn’t match the image that the other god’s messengers had given them.
The other god’s messengers were all legendary beasts, things that couldn’t be found that easily.
So for Queenie to have this kind of appearance, it was only normal that they would seem disappointed and skeptical.
Though for some of the representatives that had sharper eyes, they had a different look on their face. It was clear that they made some connections between Queenie’s appearance and what had appeared in Death Valley.
But they chose not to say anything now since they knew that I was planning something.
With Queenie in hand, I summoned some of the bugs that she controlled and demonstrated the barrier ability that she possessed.
“While this won’t guarantee that you’ll be safe, at least it’ll make you safer than you are now. With the power of this god’s messenger, we can create a barrier that will be activated if you are ever attacked by the forces of Destruction.”
When I was done demonstrating, it didn’t seem like they were completely satisfied with the solution that I presented to them.
But at the same time, it wasn’t as if there was anything else that they could say.
After all, there really was no better solution.
