Chapter 1992: Touring the land

Though there was this slight hiccup from me asking about the relic of the royal family, the banquet itself ended on quite the positive note.

After all, there were plenty of things that they wanted from me and it wasn’t as if they would hold this against me.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if I forced this issue which meant that it could be quickly forgotten.

With that, my first day in the Solar Kingdom ended.

When the second day came, it was only expected that they wouldn’t leave me alone.

The moment that the sun came up, they had already been waiting for me to come out of the room that they had presented to me.

As visiting royalty, they had wanted to put me in the castle. But I insisted that I didn’t want to cause any trouble, which was why they found this manor for me in the end.

From my room, I could see the various people that were waiting outside the gate of the manor.

It wasn’t as if I could just ignore them, so I had no choice but to meet them in the end.

However, the first thing that I said wasn’t what they had expected.

“Your majesty, could you please repeat what you just said?”

Even if they asked me to repeat it a hundred times, it wasn’t as if I was going to change my mind.

“I want to tour the land and see the sights for myself.”

All of the people that were standing around me looked at me with strange looks on their faces, but they also realized that there was nothing that they could say that would be able to change my mind.

The expression on my face was casual, but the look in my eyes were firm.

But then again, it wasn’t as if there was anything that they could say even if they wanted to say something.

It wasn’t as if I was asking for anything outrageous like touring their secret places. The only thing that I was asking for was to tour the lands of the Solar Kingdom, something that anyone else would have been able to do freely.

There were a few nobles that tried to invite me back to their manor or to guide me to more interesting sights, but I refused their offer and insisted on going to see the sights.

So in the end, they had no choice but to agree.

The problem was that they didn’t seem like they were willing to leave me alone at all.

There was a part of me that already guessed that this would be the case, so I was already prepared for them to follow me.

It wasn’t as if I was going to do anything that couldn’t be seen by others, so I really didn’t mind if they followed me.

The only thing was that they were quite annoying with how they kept trying to push on with the topic of the barrier. Even though they knew that they shouldn’t push too hard, there was always one or two that lost themselves in matters like this.

It was a good thing that my ability to ignore nobles had gotten much better compared to before. I had to deal with nobles quite often, so I got used to just straight up ignoring them.

It wasn’t as if they could even say anything because of the difference in status between us.

After traveling for a bit, I arrived at one of the villages near the capital city.

With the nobles guiding us, it was easy for us to arrive in this place and there was no one that came forward to bother us.

The commoners were naturally afraid when they saw a bunch of nobles appear like this. There were some that seemed like they were afraid that the nobles would take people away.

For them to act like this, there was no doubt that these nobles had done things like that before.

From my short period of interaction with them, I had no doubt that they were capable of things like this. It was just that it wasn’t my place to say or do anything about this.

I certainly could have done something, but I was here for a reason.

I could only apologize to the ones that suffered in my heart and promised to look into it when I get back, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that I could do right at this moment.

The only one that did come forward in the end was the village chief.

It wasn’t as if they could just completely ignore us and the village chief was the only one that was obligated to come forward. Though when he did come forward, the look on his face was as if he had resigned himself to being the sacrifice for the village.

It was as if he felt that there was just no way out for him.

Once the village chief came over, the first thing that he did was bow to us.

The nobles didn’t seem to find this strange at all, they acted as if this was just a very normal thing for this village chief to do.

In their eyes, it was only normal that those commoners would act this way towards them.

Though for me, it was clear that there was more than met the eye when it came to this situation.

For now, I just said, “Village chief, can you show us around your village? I want to take a look at the sights in the surrounding area.”

“Sights?” The village chief repeated in a confused whisper when he heard this, but he quickly came back to his senses when he saw the way that the nobles looked at him.

He knew that whatever this was wasn’t for someone like him to think about.

The only thing that he had to do was show them around as he had asked for.

“Of course, I’ll show you the sights of our village.” The village chief said with a smile on his face.
