Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1995: Asking a few questions

Chapter 1995: Asking a few questions
When the day was over, it really felt quite exhausting.
Though I had mastered the way of ignoring the nobles that flocked around me, that didn’t mean that it wasn’t exhausting dealing with all of them.
After all, they really would not give up at all.
With the way that they kept trying to approach me, it was clear that they were quite used to this.
It seemed that in this Solar Kingdom, there really was no internal struggle at all. As such, the nobles of this Solar Kingdom really were quite skilled in sucking up.
The reason for this was very simple, there was a relic that the Lune Royal Family possessed that kept down all thoughts of rebellion. Even if they wanted to gain more status, it wasn’t as if it was possible with that relic.
The ones that had tried in the past had been the prime example of this.
So even if the Lune Royal Family couldn’t exactly use the relic, it wasn’t as if that was a problem. After all, this was a situation that had happened in the past and the relic had acted without the Lune Royal Family activating it.
Everyone knew that as long as there was this relic protecting them, there really was no way to make internal changes in the Solar Kingdom.
But at the same time, it also meant that as long as the relic was there, it wasn’t as if there was any chaos that would occur in the kingdom.
There would always be that relic protecting them.
“This kind of relic is clearly something that comes from making a contract, or else it wouldn’t protect the royal family on its own like this. It’s just what kind of thing it is that has made a contract with them…”
The more that I learned about the relic, the more that I felt that I had to see it with my own eyes to find the truth.
The problem was that I really wasn’t able to see the relic.
“Let’s see if it’s possible to get some information from a different perspective.”
After the sun set, I snuck out of the mansion that I was staying in.
It wasn’t as if I was being watched, but it wasn’t as if there weren’t any people around.
They had sent guards to watch over me just in case. It wasn’t that they didn’t trust our group, it was just that they couldn’t handle what would come if something were to happen to me while I was in their country.
So that was why they sent people to guard us.
Only I didn’t want what I was going to do to be known by others, which was why I was sneaking out.
It wasn’t hard for me to sneak out since they were just regular guards, but it was hard for me to get any information that I wanted.
It wasn’t because it was hard to find someone to get information from, it was that there was no information that I could get from them.
Even in a place like the Solar Kingdom that seemed to care a lot about their public safety, it was impossible for them to keep things completely safe.
As such, there were those that snuck around in the night hiding in the dark streets of the Solar Kingdom.
These kinds of people were quite easy to find as long as one knew where to look.
“What do you know about the relic in the palace?”
“What are you talking about?”
It was just that this was the kind of conversation that I had with them.
There wasn’t a single one of them that was able to answer the questions that I asked them.
From the way that they answered, I knew that they weren’t just saying this for the sake of saying it. It wasn’t as if they were trying to keep this information hidden for the sake of whoever was behind them.
It was that they really didn’t know anything about this.
But if that was the case, then it certainly was strange.
After all, there was nothing that could have remained a complete secret.
Even if they did their best to hide it, it would be impossible for all information about the relic that the royal family had to be hidden.
Especially when it came to the underworld where one relied on information to make a living. They would do all that they could to get the information that they wanted.
For them not to have this information, it meant that there was some kind of power that was blocking them.
But this kind of power…almost seemed like it was supernatural.
“Does it even possess the ability to protect itself like this? Isn’t it at the point where it can even brainwash people?” I couldn’t help thinking to myself as I realized this.
At this point, there was a part of me that was even wondering if this was some kind of trap.
Still, it wasn’t as if I could just ignore it since I was already here.
I couldn’t get anything out of these people who lived in the underground and I couldn’t get anything out of the nobles, so there was only one thing that was left for me to do.
When the next morning came, the nobles that were gathered outside were surprised to hear that I was heading to the castle.
I wasn’t the one that told them this, but rather the guards that had been stationed at the manor.
In fact, I wasn’t even there so it wasn’t as if they could even see me.
Though the nobles wanted to say something, they couldn’t say anything since they could see that the guards that had been deployed were different.
The guards that had been sent were the royal guards that followed the royal family, most of whom were nobles themselves.
As for why this was the case, it was because I had asked the guards to deliver a message to King Lune yesterday night.
