Chapter 2006: Strange attraction

I shook my head to show that I had no idea, but there was a serious look that was on my face as well.

After all, it wasn’t as if the Mark of God would just react to anything.

For a reaction to come from the Mark of God, it meant that there had to be some kind of divine energy present.

But at the same time, it meant that the divine energy that was here wasn’t that weak at all. If it was weak, then it wouldn’t have triggered this reaction from the Mark of God.

I really couldn’t help wondering just what was inside of this cave…

Though it didn’t seem like this was the time for it.

The monsters that were gathered in front of the cave seemed to be reacting to this energy that was coming from deep within the cave. It seemed like they were all planning to do something with how they acted.

Even if we didn’t know what was inside of the cave, the fact that the Mark of God had reacted meant that this wasn’t something that we could give up that easily.

Which was why I turned to look at Klein as if I was waiting for him to say something.

There was a very conflicted look that was on his face at this moment.

After all, it wasn’t as if he didn’t understand the meaning of this reaction from the Mark of God.

The fact that the Mark of God reacted to the energy that was coming from inside of the cave meant that we really couldn’t leave that thing to the monsters that were here.

Even if we didn’t know exactly what was in the cave, it was dangerous to leave it here.

So that was why it seemed like Klein didn’t know what to say at all.

That expression on his face became more and more twisted until it suddenly relaxed.

It seemed like he had thought things through and had come to a decision.

The moment that he came to a decision, he immediately looked at me as if he was waiting for me to say something.

I was surprised that he would reach this decision in the end, but there was also a part of me that wasn’t surprised. After all, I really was the best person to make a decision in this situation.

It was one thing if this was a standard situation that Klein could react to, but the moment that this strange energy appeared, it was pushed into non standard territory.

When it was non standard like this, Klein really was at a loss as to what to do.

I didn’t give an order right away as I observed the monsters.

They seemed like they were reacting to this energy, but it didn’t seem like they were planning on doing anything just yet.

When I looked at them closely, it even seemed like they were wary of each other. The different races of monsters all seemed like they were afraid of what the other race would do.

But at the same time, it was clear that they were looking back at the cave as if they were attracted by what was releasing this energy. It really seemed like they wanted to go in and find this thing.

Perhaps this might have even been the reason that they had gathered here in this cave to begin with.

Seeing that there was a balance that was between the monsters, it meant that I had time to think about what to do.

The problem was that this didn’t last long.

It seemed like whatever was releasing energy from inside of the cave was sensing something, which was why it started releasing even more energy. The way that it released this energy made it seem like it was about to awaken or something.

When more and more of this energy was released, it seemed like it made the monsters more and more agitated. It really seemed like these monsters were going to ignore each other and go in to fight for whatever was inside of the cave.

If that was to happen, there really was no idea what we would be facing.

To ensure that we had the advantage, we had to make the first move.

So that was why I jumped onto Joan’s back and placed my hand on her head to activate the Mark of God that was there.

After I activated it, I said to the others, “We have to charge in and use momentum to find whatever it is that’s there.”

Klein and the other royal guards didn’t seem like they were happy with this plan, but there was nothing that they could say about this. They had decided to leave command to me, so they could only follow the orders that I gave.

I didn’t want to use this since this was a new move that I had come up with Joan, but there really was no choice.

Which was why when we charged forward, she suddenly released her flames around her. These flames quickly wrapped up around her body as if it was some kind of armour.

Though it wasn’t just armour that these flames were forming.

When we charged at the cave, the monsters were completely caught off guard by us.

So there was nothing that they could do as we slammed right into them and pushed them aside.

However, this charge didn’t just push these monsters out of the way. The moment that the flames made contact with them, it spread all over their bodies and it seemed like it was going to swallow them whole.

No matter how the monsters tried to get rid of these flames, there was nothing that they could do to stop the flames from spreading. It was as if there was something that controlled these flames as they spread across their bodies.

That was Joan that was doing this.

Though I did help by providing a bit of divine energy for this.

This was the new move that I had developed with Joan.
