Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2013: Same source? (2)

Chapter 2013: Same source? (2)
Nothing happened at first with the monsters, but that soon changed.
It didn’t take long before some of them started swelling like the orcs had when they made contact with the same energy.
It was clear that the same thing was going to happen to these monsters.
“Get away from them!” I shouted at the reinforcements from the racial alliance.
They were even more confused when they heard this, but they could see that whatever was happening was dangerous. They could clearly tell that the change that was happening with the monsters was bad.
So they quickly moved away while the monsters kept swelling up.
Though there were monsters that were swelling and looked to be filled with pain, there were still other monsters that came forward. It was as if they simply didn’t care about the fact that there were other monsters that were suffering.
It seemed like the only thing that they cared about was the attraction from the energy.
It was already too late to regret it when they ran into the wall of energy that was in front of them.
Monsters were simple minded, but that didn’t mean that they didn’t have a single thought in their mind.
The moment that they reached the wall of energy that the qilin created, they had the same reaction as the other monsters.
It was also at this moment that they realized that there was something wrong with the other monsters. They finally noticed that the other monsters were showing signs of becoming distorted.
They wanted to run, but the qilin’s energy wall didn’t release them.
I could sense the qilin drawing on more of my power, but it actually wasn’t that tiring with the two of us working together.
It was as if there was some kind of resonance between us where we made each other stronger.
Though this also further confirmed something.
It seemed that there was a similar source for the energy that the qilin used. It seemed like it was from the same source as my divine energy.
But if that was the case, then it would mean that this energy was…
The more that I thought about it, the more dangerous that thought felt.
So in the end, I tossed it to the back of my head and chose not to worry about it anymore.
Instead, I focused on the monsters that were in front of us.
It wasn’t as if there was a problem stopping them, but there were a lot of monsters that were here. Not all of them had charged into the energy net yet, so there were indeed quite a few monsters that were out there.
While there was no strain from holding them, it might be a problem if they all eventually reached the net.
So that was why…
“Raise the power.” I said to the qilin.
The qilin understood what I meant by this, so it gave a simple nod in response.
Though this did mean that we were using more of our power compared to before, it was fine since this was necessary.
We had to raise the power to clear out some of these monsters before there were too many of them that were caught. We had to make sure that this was manageable for us and we weren’t overwhelmed.
“Boom!”
Since we raised the power, it didn’t take long before explosions rang out.
These were the sounds of the monsters blowing up after they had been swelled to the breaking point by the energy. This was the sound of the monsters releasing all of the pent up energy that had been inside of them.
When the dust settled, we found that the result of this was actually better than we thought.
At the same time, it was also a good judgement of how big the explosion was since we could see who was injured and who wasn’t.
The monsters had been quite close together when it came to the distribution along the energy net, so there were quite a few that had been hurt by the explosions.
From these injuries, we were able to tell just how strong these explosions were.
“If we were to keep a few monsters and send them out…they could be used as living bombs.” I couldn’t help having this thought, but I quickly shook it out of my mind.
Even if monsters were monsters, it felt a bit wrong to use their lives like this.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if these monsters would actually do anything to the ones that we were fighting. It wasn’t as if the explosions were divine energy explosions, so they wouldn’t do anything to the forces of Destruction.
With the monsters being cleared out, there was more space for those that followed to enter.
Even though there were these explosions that were happening in front of them, the monsters really didn’t seem to care. These monsters really were single minded as they charged at what they wanted.
So in the end, I left this matter to the qilin to handle since it was able to take care of the monsters on its own.
Instead, I focused on the connection that had formed between me and the qilin.
What I was looking at was the energy that the qilin used.
To be specific, I was looking at why it felt familiar to me.
Though just trying to find what was special about the energy wasn’t nearly enough to give me an idea. Even if I focused on that energy, it wasn’t as if I was able to figure it out.
So instead, I focused on the effects of this energy.
“It’s that, isn’t it…” I muttered to myself in the end as I watched the monsters.
It couldn’t be anything else other than that since it was only that form of energy that could cause the monsters to evolve like this.
Too much of a good thing was bad for them, but it was clear that if it was directed properly, it would help those monsters evolve.
So there should only be one kind of energy that could do something like that.
The problem was the god that this energy was related to…
