Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2014: I am a god’s messenger

Chapter 2014: I am a god’s messenger
With the qilin taking care of things, it didn’t take long before the number of monsters was cut down.
Though there were more reinforcements that arrived for the monsters, there really wasn’t anything that they could do.
In the end, the minds of monsters were simple and they were quite easy to fool. Which was why they just kept throwing themselves at the wall of energy that the qilin put up.
It didn’t seem like they had any other thoughts at all as they charged at what they wanted to obtain.
At the same time, the reinforcements from the racial alliance also arrived.
Though when they arrived, there were strange looks that were on their faces as they watched everything unfold in front of them.
It really was hard for them to understand what was currently happening.
After all, it wasn’t as if this was something that they had seen before.
It really was strange seeing these monsters blow up like this.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if they knew what they should be doing since they didn’t know what it was that was blowing up these monsters. They felt like they should help, but they didn’t want to do anything that would cause problems.
So the only thing that they could do was blankly watch as the monsters sent themselves to death.
There really were no words to describe what they were seeing.
After a while, I said to the qilin, “Take a break, let the others handle the rest.”
The qilin didn’t seem like it wanted to keep going, but I knew that it was straining itself.
Through the connection that we had with each other, I could easily tell how much power the qilin had left.
Even though it was powerful, it was clear that doing all of this was a strain on it and it really wasn’t able to keep going for long. This wasn’t strange considering that this qilin had just been born not that long ago.
If it had time to develop, I wouldn’t be worried about it taking down all of these monsters.
But before it was developed, it didn’t seem like it would be able to take care of it on its own.
The qilin could also sense the firmness that I said this with, so it had no choice but to back down.
The monsters had already mutated to the point where most of them weren’t even at the same level as they were previously. Being disfigured to this point, it would be a miracle if they were even able to use a tenth of their power.
For the reinforcements from the racial alliance, taking care of these monsters was a piece of cake.
Which was why they didn’t hesitate to charge at these monsters.
I just ignored this since I knew that I could leave it in their hands. Instead, I focused all my attention on the qilin in front of me.
Seeing the way that the qilin looked at me, I reached my hands out to pick it up off the ground.
The qilin didn’t resist at all and just readily came into my arms. The way that it did this, it was almost as if it had been waiting for me to pick it up.
It was like how a child acted when they met a parent.
Did that mean that qilins had some kind of imprinting instinct where they took the first thing that they saw as their parent?
No, it wasn’t as if this was the reason that the qilin was acting this way towards me.
It was all because of that innate bond that I could feel even now.
I didn’t know how to describe it, but I could sense all the different feelings that came from the qilin.
After a moment of silence, I asked, “What are you?”
“I’m a god’s messenger.”
I was caught off guard by this response since this wasn’t the response that I had been expecting.
But thinking about it, it did make sense. This qilin wasn’t a creature that was native to this world, but in my past life, qilins were considered legendary beasts.
The legendary beasts of this world were all god’s messengers, so it wasn’t as if it was strange that this qilin would be one as well.
Only if this qilin was a god’s messenger, with the kind of divine energy that it used…
It seemed like there was only one god that this qilin could be a messenger from.
Did that mean that this qilin had been arranged to meet me since that god was the one that created this world?
The more that I thought about it, the more that it seemed like everything was perfectly set up so that we would encounter each other. It was as if I was dancing in the palm of that God of Creation…
“I’m not a messenger for any of the gods.”
The qilin’s words immediately snapped me out of my thoughts and caused a confused look to appear on my face. After all, this qilin had just said that it was a god’s messenger and now it was saying that it wasn’t a messenger for any of the gods.
This really didn’t seem to make sense at all…
“I am your messenger.”
I was even more confused and shocked when I heard this.
A strange look appeared on my face as I looked at the qilin, but it just calmly looked back at me without a single ripple in its emotions. I knew this because of the connection that I had with it.
But the more that the qilin acted this way, the more confused I was.
There was no doubt that the qilin used something that was similar to divine energy.
Or it could be said that it used something that was considered the precursor to divine energy.
After all, it was in that strange zone that felt like it was right in between mana and divine energy which I found weird.
Only how could it call itself a god’s messenger if it was attaching itself to me?
I wasn’t a god.
