Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2015: A messenger to a demigod

Chapter 2015: A messenger to a demigod
“No, that’s not possible.” I said in a firm voice in the end.
After all, there was a reason why they were called god’s messengers in the first place.
Their attachment, or rather their connection with gods was the reason why they were able to use divine energy in the first place.
So if this qilin was saying that it was my messenger, then it was equal to saying that I was a god.
This was something that I was going to deny with all my might.
After all, it would mean something else if I were to become a god.
The qilin didn’t respond right away as it tilted its head in confusion at this response, but then it looked like it was thinking about the answer that I gave. After thinking like this for a bit, it actually gave a slow nod.
Seeing this slow nod confused me even more, but it was a lie to say that there wasn’t a part of me that wasn’t relieved.
Only what the qilin said next wasn’t as relieving.
“I am your messenger, there’s no doubting that. Though it can’t be said that you’re a god yet, it’s better to say that you’re something like a demigod already.” The qilin said in a bright voice.
Then it said as if it was playing around, “I can be called a demigod’s messenger instead.”
It seemed like this qilin wasn’t giving up the notion that it was connected to me, but I didn’t want to think that it was connected to me because of this. I could feel the connection that was between us and it certainly felt different than the contracts that I had made with the other god’s messengers.
Still, I didn’t want to believe that this was the case.
The more that the qilin acted like this, the more unnerved that I became.
That was why before it could say anything else, I suddenly said, “For now, you’re still too young to understand these things. Let’s not take this seriously, you’ll slowly learn what god’s messengers are and who the god you really serve is.”
“I’m not too young, these are memories that come from a genetic level. This is something that I knew from the moment that I was born.”
After saying this, the qilin looked at me with an upset look.
The way that it looked at me was almost as if it was a child that was unhappy with their parents for denying them. It was as if it was looking at me like I was a father that was refusing to acknowledge their child.
In a way, it could be said that the connection between gods and their messengers was like that of a child and parent.
But it wasn’t as if I was that for the qilin.
Thinking about it, I found the loophole in this matter.
“You were able to use your power before we even connected with each other. There must be someone else that you’re drawing your power on.”
“We were connected from the moment that I was born.” The qilin insisted on this no matter what I said to it.
It really was hard dealing with this qilin since it was acting like a spoiled child at this moment. It really was acting like it was my child with how it kept talking to me.
It was to the point where I was even forgetting that this qilin had just been born not that long ago.
For me, it really felt like this qilin was something that had been born for a long time with how it was eloquently arguing against me.
Their arguments weren’t that well worded at first, but it seemed to be picking up more and more words as time passed.
When I realized this, I felt that it really was amazing how fast the qilin was growing…
In fact, it even felt a bit heavier as I held the qilin.
When I looked at the qilin closely, I found that it was indeed bigger than it was before.
In just the short period of time that it had hatched, it was already growing bigger.
This realization really was surprising, but there was a way for me to justify it in the end.
After all, this qilin was a legendary beast and it wasn’t as if anyone knew how it grew in the first place. So it could be completely normal for the qilin to grow at such a pace.
It was unknown how fast it would grow and when it would stop growing since no one had ever observed a qilin to know this. Even in my past life, qilins were technically considered mythical beings.
So I stopped thinking about this as I turned my attention back to the monsters.
The monsters had mostly been cleared out by the reinforcements from the racial alliance and at this point, it seemed like they were just observing the monsters that were left.
Most of them had been disfigured quite a bit, so it seemed like they were trying to figure out how these disfigurements worked and how it happened to these monsters.
“Put them out of their misery. We still have somewhere else to go.”
The reinforcements from the racial alliance were surprised to hear me say this, but it did snap them back to their senses.
Hearing this, they raised their weapons and put the rest of the monsters out of their misery before going to clean up.
However, there was somewhere else that I wanted to go first.
“Leave some people behind to clean up and the rest of you can come with me.”
The reinforcements from the racial alliance were surprised once more by this order, but they still followed it. Though when they did, they looked at me as if they were wondering where I was taking them.
“We’re heading to the cave that they nested in.”
Hearing this, they all understood what I was planning to do.
Though in reality, what I really wanted to do was take a look at where the qilin egg had been all this time.
I wanted to see if I could find any clues about its origins.
