Away from the Merman Empire, away from the mortal plane, high up in the divine realm.

“Lord Aquaron, was this really the best way to do this?” Aestum said in a hesitant voice.

Aquaron, who had been silently observing the mortal world, didn’t respond at first.

The way that they looked down at the mortal world was as if there was something that caught their eyes.

After a long silence like this, Aquaron finally said, “There was no other choice. It certainly wasn’t the best way to do this, but it had to be done.”

Aestum looked like they were feeling doubtful of this, but there was nothing that they could say since Aquaron was the one that said this.

After all, Aestum was one of the minor gods under the water dominion that Aquaron ruled over.

Even if they were both gods, there was a difference in status between the two of them.

Even among gods, there was a ranking between them that determined which one was higher than the others.

Aquaron in particular was part of the few gods that were at the very top of all the gods. After all, Aquaron was a god that was in charge of a major element of this world that encompassed many things.

As such, there were many gods that were under Aquaron’s dominion.

The God of Tides Aestum was naturally one of those that was under Aquaron’s dominion.

Which was the reason that they had gone along with this plan.

Aquaron naturally could see the way that Aestum looked at them, so they said, “He was able to bring out the power of creation in the end, that is all that matters.”

Aestum still had a trace of doubt in their eyes, but then they gave a slow nod with a sigh since they knew that Aquaron was right.

In the end, all of this was a trial that they had created for the one that had been chosen and he had passed.

So that was why that was all that mattered.

After a moment of silence, Aquaron suddenly said, “This is only the first of the trials that he will face in the future, but this is the most important one. After all, this is the first time that he is really tapping into the power of creation. That’s why this first trial was entrusted to me.”

Aestum nodded in agreement to this since there was nothing wrong with this.

Though Aquaron acted a certain way in front of the one that had been chosen, the real Aquaron was completely different.

The real Aquaron was a god that was respected by all other gods, especially those that were under their domain. So it wasn’t as if there was anyone that was better suited for this first trial.

The only thing that Aestum couldn’t understand was why they had done things like this.

After all, there was no doubt that this would place doubt in the mind of the chosen one.

“He’s not ready to know about all of this yet. It’s better if he thinks like this since it’ll be easier for him to accept the facts when the time comes.” Aquaron said as if they were reading Aestum’s mind.

Of course, it wasn’t that Aquaron could actually read their mind since it wasn’t as if a god could read another god’s mind.

It was just that they had known each other for long enough that Aquaron could guess what Aestum was thinking.

Aestum gave another slow nod in the end, but they still had to say, “What if he forms some resentment towards us for this?”

“It’s only natural that he will.” Aquaron said to Aestum’s surprise.

There was a bitter smile that appeared on Aestum’s face when they heard this, but there was nothing that they could say since this was the truth.

But Aquaron just continued by saying, “It’s fine that he feels this way towards us, he’ll understand when the time comes. This is all part of the great creator’s plan.”

When Aestum’s expression didn’t change, Aquaron just said, “In the end, this is all how a family works. There’s no need to think too much about this.”

Hearing the firm tone in Aquaron’s voice, Aestum chose not to think about it anymore.

Since this was what Aquaron was saying, then they believed that this would be the case.

However, there was still one thing that Aestum had to ask, “Will he be able to make it in time? Eventually, that one will try to consume this world.”

“What can we do about it when this is all part of the great creator’s plans? In the first place, everything was made on his behalf. Even all of us are nothing more than pawns in their plan.”

Aestum didn’t say anything, but the complicated look in their eyes said plenty.

Aquaron patted Aestum on the shoulder before saying, “Just watch over them for now. It’ll be time for us to act soon enough.”

This was said for all of the other gods that had been gathered here.

The other gods had just been silently listening in the entire time without actually saying anything, but once Aquaron mentioned them.

“Lord Aquaron, we have prepared everything and are ready to move at any moment.”

Aquaron gave a nod to the gods that showed their determination, but they didn’t say anything to those gods. After all, there was nothing that they needed to say.

Instead, it was time to look for a few other gods.

These were the gods that were in charge of the other trials that the chosen one would be undergoing.

Since Aquaron now had experience, they were planning on sharing this experience with the other gods.

After all, this was all part of the plan that had been left for them to execute and Aquaron would do all that they could to make sure that this plan worked.

Or else it would be them that would be in danger.
