Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2035: All depends on you

Chapter 2035: All depends on you
“What do you mean by this?” Puffer asked while still glaring at Max.
The way that she glared at him wasn’t just because he had said this, it was because of the relationship between the two of them.
Simply put, there was a bit of a rivalry between them.
Both of them were skilled researchers and in other topics, Puffer outclassed Max.
It was just that when it came to corruption energy and divine energy, Puffer just couldn’t match Max’s abilities.
It was as if he had some kind of sixth sense when it came to researching those things, so Puffer really couldn’t match him.
For a researcher like her, it was the kind of thing that her pride couldn’t take, which was why there was this rivalry that developed between them.
However, from what I could see, it seemed like there was more to it…
“It’s very simple. You forget about what these things are made of, which is why that oversized machine of yours doesn’t work.” Max said with a faint smile.
Though he didn’t really care about things other than his research, he actually did take the rivalry with Puffer seriously and would strike back at her from time to time like this.
The rivalry between the two of them wasn’t something that was one sided.
It was something that was recognized by both of them.
Puffer narrowed her eyes to look at him without saying anything. Though she didn’t say anything, the defiant look in her eyes made it clear what she was thinking.
“Go on, prove it then.”
Max didn’t seem bothered by this at all as he moved over to the samples that were still inside of the machine and picked up the thin piece of wood.
After picking it up, he brought out something that seemed like some kind of wand. However, it wasn’t as if he would just bring out something like a wand for no reason.
After taking out this wand, he tapped it on the piece of wood that was in his other hand.
When the wand made contact with the piece of wood, there was already a reading that came from the wand.
It seemed that this wand was a portable detector of some sort, but no one knew what it was detecting.
Once he got this positive reaction, Max looked at Puffer with a triumphant look.
However, it wasn’t as if anyone else knew what was happening here. No one else knew what the wand was even supposed to be measuring, so they didn’t know why Max was looking this triumphant.
Eventually, Max said, “As you can see, there are traces of divine energy inside of this sample.”
Though he said this, it didn’t seem like anyone understood what he was getting at.
I didn’t even know what he was trying to say with this.
“With divine energy, this thing will be useful against the corruption energy.”
As if to prove a point, he took out a sample from his pocket.
A wry smile crept onto my face when I saw him pull this out.
After all, I didn’t think that he would even have something like this prepared.
Max had started carrying corruption energy samples around in his pocket like this…
It was dangerous for him to do this, but then again…he was the one that knew the most about this corruption energy. Even I didn’t know as much about the corruption energy as him.
So perhaps it was safe for him to carry it around like this.
Or at least I hoped that he had some kind of way to prevent damages if the sample of corruption energy was to break free.
But right now, I was more curious about what he was going to do with this corruption energy.
Max went over to one of the tables for research and dumped out the corruption energy sample without any hesitation.
Since there was nothing there that would contain it, the corruption energy seemed to react to the fact that it was free and started moving as if it wanted to absorb things for energy.
However, it didn’t get the chance to do that as Max dropped the piece of wood on top of the corruption energy.
The moment that this piece of wood was dropped on it, the entire corruption energy mass started to shake. The way that it moved was as if there was some kind of pain that coursed through it.
When it was over, the corruption energy had disappeared without a trace.
The only thing that was left there was the piece of wood that had been dropped on the corruption energy.
Everyone was silent as they stared at the piece of wood that was left behind, but they knew what Max was demonstrating.
This kind of potent divine energy, there was no doubt that there was a use for this.
At the same time, it became very clear why they couldn’t penetrate it at all with their mana.
“But this thing is too hard for us to shape or even use properly, so it’s not as if we can actually make anything out of this.” Puffer raised this problem.
Max gave a shrug before saying, “Just have the one making this thing shape it in a way that it can be easily installed on something. Or make them small and just use them on the tip or something.”
This was indeed a simple solution, but there was a problem with that.
For this to work, it would mean that I would have to personally get involved and make all of the things that they would need to make these items.
Though in the first place, I was already involved since I had to use the creation divine energy to make the material.
Puffer naturally also thought of this as well, but she wasn’t as shameless to say it directly.
Now that Max had said it…
The way that they looked at me made it clear what they were thinking, but I also did agree with them.
I knew better than anyone what having these weapons would mean.
