Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2039: Quantity versus quality

Chapter 2039: Quantity versus quality
With Queenie providing the divine energy, it was actually much easier on me since I didn’t have to force myself to provide the divine energy for the molds.
Though I did have to provide divine energy to imbue the creation attribute into the mold so that they would form blades, it wasn’t actually that much since I was mainly relying on Queenie’s divine energy.
It really was quite cost effective with the way that I used her divine energy rather than my own.
With this, I was able to fill up the twenty molds without problem and then moved onto the extra molds that had been left on the side since I wasn’t able to use them previously.
The dwarves saw this and continued making molds, but the looks on their faces showed that they weren’t happy.
They had stopped earlier when they saw that I wasn’t able to use more than twenty, making them think that they wouldn’t have to desecrate their pride and passion anymore.
But that happiness soon disappeared when I came up with this solution.
However, there was still a problem.
“Wait, it feels different.”
The dwarves had been keeping watch over the blades when they were pulled over the molds since they were the ones that were the most familiar with them.
They hadn’t said anything about the past few batches, but this time it seemed like they had something to say. They even stopped them right after the first one as if they noticed this difference right away.
After stopping the helpers, the dwarves came forward to look at the blade that was presented.
It wasn’t just one or two dwarves, it seemed like all of the dwarves were able to tell that there was something different about this new batch. It seemed that there was something that they couldn’t see, but they could tell that there was something off about this blade.
After a while, the dwarves asked for one of the previous swords to be brought over.
It seemed that they were planning on comparing the two swords to see what was different.
Though the way that they were comparing the two swords was strange.
“Bring out some corruption energy samples.” The dwarves suddenly asked for this.
Everyone looked at the dwarves with confused looks, but they insisted on this.
So in the end, there were a few corruption energy samples that were prepared for them.
As per their request, we made sure that the corruption energy samples were the same. Though in reality, it wasn’t as if this was something that we could guarantee and we just did the best that we could to balance them.
When it was over, the dwarves used the swords on them.
“It’s weaker.”
That was the judgement that the dwarves gave, but they weren’t the only ones that gave this judgement. Everyone that was looking at the results thought the same thing.
It really was hard to deny it when it was right there in front of you.
When the swords made contact with the corruption energy, there was a very different reaction that came from the two samples.
It was quite obvious which one was more effective.
Narrowing their eyes to look at the result, they couldn’t help looking at the swords once more as they tried to figure out what it was that was different about them. After all, from what they could see, it seemed like the swords were the same.
Since they couldn’t see it with their naked eyes, the only thing that they could do was turn to Max to see if he could figure out what was wrong with his instruments.
Though even without that, I already knew what the problem was.
It was the difference in quality of divine energy.
That was because I had already experienced this before, so I knew what the problem was the moment that I saw the results.
I just didn’t say anything as I wanted to see if I could find anything else about this.
But the readings showed what the problem was.
It was just that the sword made from Queenie’s divine energy was weaker than the sword that was made from my divine energy alone.
That was to be expected since Queenie’s divine energy had the propagation attribute. This attribute made it so that she would have an endless supply of divine energy, but it also meant that this divine energy wasn’t that strong.
Which was why it couldn’t match the sword that was made with my divine energy alone.
The one that was made from Queenie’s divine energy only had a trace of my divine energy which made it strong.
Once they figured this out…
“So it’s a matter of different materials…But in a way, this could be considered a matter of how much effort was placed into the sword. So it’s the difference between a sword with a soul and a sword without one.”
Leave it to the dwarves to turn it into a matter of craftsmanship.
But that didn’t matter right now.
When one boiled down the facts, there was only one single thing that mattered.
This was a matter of quality versus quantity.
After all, it was only with Queenie’s abundant divine energy that I would be able to mass produce the blades like this. And even if they were weaker compared to the ones that were made purely with my divine energy, that didn’t mean that they were that weak.
They still had an effect on the corruption energy samples.
So these were enough to equip the normal rank and file soldiers with.
Once this fact sunk in, it was a matter of deciding on whether we wanted quality or quantity.
“Of course it’s quality. These are special weapons in the first place.” The dwarves argued.
“No, it has to be quantity. We need to mass produce these things to supply our soldiers so they can deal with the corruption energy monsters.” The officials argued back.
In the end, they turned to me as if waiting for me to support one side.
But there was only a single side to support.
