In the end, there was nothing that I could do to stop them.

“We welcome you any time, Holy Son.”

It seemed like they were determined to ignore parts of what I said to the very end.

As such, I really had to get ready to take care of this when I arrived in the Holy Empire.

For now, I just shut it off without actually thinking too much about what they were planning to do. For now, I just focused on the statue that was presented to me.

It was the only way for me to vent my anger.

“I can do what I want with this, right?”

The representative of the Holy Empire gave a firm nod before saying, “Of course. This is the present that we’ve prepared for the Holy Son.”

It seemed that they were determined to address me as Holy Son instead of as your majesty. They didn’t seem to care about my status in the mortal world at all anymore, they just cared about how the gods saw me…

This was without a doubt a dangerous path to walk on, but there was nothing that I could do about it.

After all, it was hard to change the minds of fanatics.

Once I figured this out, I turned to look at the representative from the Holy Empire and asked, “Have you been using this statue?”

The representative from the Holy Empire was surprised by this question at first, but then his eyes lit up as he said, “Before we installed those larger statues, we have been using this smaller statue to pray to the Holy Son.”

I looked at him with an even stranger look when I heard this, but I chose not to engage with this.

But the fact that he confirmed this meant that my guesses were correct.

It seemed that I was gaining divine energy from their prayers…

Only that was something that only gods should have been able to do.

I certainly wasn’t a god or anything close to it, so it was strange that I was able to gain divine energy in this manner.

After looking at this statue for a moment, I turned around to leave since I could tell that the representative from the Holy Empire was getting suspicious.

This was the one thing that I couldn’t let them know about or else it would be dangerous.

If they were to know that there was a connection between me and the statue of me that they created, then they would start making even more. Or they might even start doing all kinds of crazy things since they would think that I was one of the gods that they worshipped.

They were reliable as allies, but that was only because they didn’t take things too far.

But there was no telling what kind of things fanatical worshippers were capable of if they wanted to do something. If they were to learn the truth, then there was no doubt that it wouldn’t just be me in danger, it would be the entire racial alliance.

As I was walking away, I suddenly said, “I’ll arrange for some time to go to the Holy Empire. I want to take a look at the statue that you created for me.”

The eyes of the Holy Empire’s representative lit up when he heard this.

After all, this was exactly what they wanted to hear from me.

So he promised that they would be willing to accept me whenever I wanted to go to the Holy Empire.
