Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2051: The middle of nowhere

Chapter 2051: The middle of nowhere
“There’s nothing here.”
That was all that I could think to myself as I stared at the empty land that was in front of me.
I had to double check to make sure that this was the right place, but everything that I had proved that this was indeed the right place. No matter how I looked at it, this was supposed to be the place where the ones that needed my help should have been.
It was just that there really wasn’t anything here.
This place was in the middle of nowhere and it was completely empty.
Before coming here, I had made sure that this was the right place by checking with all four of the human empires and some of the other races. The Holy Empire hadn’t been that keen about sharing this oracle, but they chose to do so in the end since they knew that this was for the greater good.
All of them confirmed that this was the right place.
It was just that there was nothing here.
“What am I supposed to do here?” I muttered to myself as I stared at the emptiness that was here.
This was one of the rare wildernesses of the continent.
It was a place that didn’t have anything that could grow since the land that was in this place was completely dead. Which was why this was one of the few places that didn’t have any signs of living beings here.
One would think that over time, this place would recover on its own. However, that didn’t happen as if there was something that prevented this place from recovering.
Which was why this place really was one that didn’t have anything in it.
“Did you find anything?” I asked Klein when he came back with his royal guards.
Klein just shook his head before saying, “We’ve searched far and wide and we haven’t found a single thing.”
I couldn’t help knitting my brows after hearing this, but I didn’t blame him.
After we arrived in this place and saw that there wasn’t anything, the first thing that had been done was sending out groups to search the area. And to no one’s surprise, there wasn’t a single thing that was found.
I just knitted my brows as I looked around, waiting for something to happen.
As I did this, I raised the hand that had the Mark of God on it and waited to see if there was some kind of reaction.
Since this was the place that the gods were sending me on a trial, I had figured that the Mark of God would trigger something here that would start it. It made sense since the Mark of God had been the thing that connected me to the realm of the divine in the past.
“Since there’s no reaction, then I assume that it has a short range. I’ll have to be in the range for it to appear.”
Klein and the others looked at me with eyes that were filled with doubt, but I chose to ignore them.
After all, I felt the same doubt that they were feeling and I knew that this was a stretch. It was just that there was no other choice since there was nothing else that I could do here.
With a sigh, I started leading our group around this wilderness in hopes that we would encounter something.
It wasn’t until we came to a large pile of rocks that I found…
“Did you really not find anything in this place?”
Klein and the royal guards were caught off guard when they heard this before Klein shook his head to say, “No, we didn’t find a single thing here.”
Though as he said this, there were a few royal guards that moved forward as if they were planning to look around the area once more.
I raised my hand to stop them before saying, “It’s not something that you’ll find with your naked eyes. It’s something that’s…”
It was hard to explain it with words, but it was easy for me to show them with action.
When I raised my hand, they saw that the Mark of God was releasing a faint glow that showed that it was reacting to something here.
As for what it was reacting to…
I looked at the pile of rocks that was in front of us.
I just stared at it with narrowed eyes as I tried to find what was different about this, but it didn’t seem like there was anything off with it.
It was just that I was certain that there was divine energy that was coming from it.
No matter how faint it was, this wasn’t something that I could miss and the Mark of God certainly didn’t miss it.
After not being able to determine what it was, I brought my hand forward to press it against the pile of rocks.
The moment that I did, there was a glow that surrounded the pile of rocks.
This glow didn’t come from the divine energy released by the Mark of God, this was divine energy that seemed to come from under the ground. It was as if there was something that this pile of rocks was connected to that was providing this divine energy.
Though I could feel that there was some divine energy that was coming from the Mark of God as well.
It was as if the divine energy that came from the Mark of God was the catalyst that activated whatever this was.
Once the glow reached a certain point, there was even more light that came from under us.
It wasn’t a lot of light, it was just a single line that appeared in the dirt.
But this single line wasn’t just under us, it seemed to be running somewhere.
At the same time, there was another line of light that appeared in the opposite direction.
It seemed that these two lines of light were running in specific directions, as if they were connected to something.
“This is an…array?”
