Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2053: Being watched

Chapter 2053: Being watched
When we came out of the staircase, we found that there was an entirely different world down here.
It wasn’t that this place was just a space that was created to simulate a world, this place was an entire world.
It was a place that was filled with different plants and animals that showed that there was an entire ecosystem that was down here.
When one looked up, they could even see that there was sky above them.
This wasn’t a fake sky that had some kind of sun illusion that was created with magic. This was what seemed to be a true sky that seemed to have a real sun far off in the distance.
Though if we were to test it with our wyverns…
But for now, there were other things that we had to take care of first.
There was no doubt that this was the place that Solista had been referring to when she was talking about the trial. Which meant that the ones that I was supposed to be helping should be somewhere in this place.
As for whether they were friendly or not…
This was the thing that Klein and the royal guards were worried about as well as they immediately spread out once they came back to their senses. They took a formation around me as if they were determined to protect me from whatever was out there.
It was just that there wasn’t anything there.
It wasn’t that there weren’t any living creatures that were out there, it was just that there weren’t any living creatures that seemed dangerous that were around us.
The place that we had come out to when we left the staircase was a clearing right in front of a forest. From where we were, we could see that there were animals that were running around in the trees.
There wasn’t anything strange about these animals, these were all the normal critters that would be in any forest. It seemed like this was a peaceful forest judging by what we could see.
“So where are the ones that I’m supposed to help?” I couldn’t help asking out loud as I looked around.
Klein and the royal guards didn’t let down their guards seeing this and it seemed to make them even more wary, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that we could do from where we were.
In the end, we still needed more information.
The first suggestion that Klein made after he scouted out the area was, “We should bring the wyverns down.”
The staircase itself was wide enough that we could bring our wyverns down if we wanted, but I had been against that. The whole reason that I was here was that I was supposed to help someone.
If I were to come in with wyverns, then it would certainly send the wrong message.
While I knew that the wyverns weren’t dangerous since they were under our control, that didn’t mean that whoever was here would know the same thing. After all, the wyverns were quite terrifying just based on their appearance alone.
If a person didn’t know anything about the wyverns, it wouldn’t be strange for them to perceive the wyverns as some kind of threat. Especially if wyverns appeared in a peaceful place like this all of a sudden.
“No, there’s no telling what is above us. If we were to fly up there and get caught off guard, what do you think we’ll be able to do?”
I knew that this other reason wouldn’t be enough to convince Klein, so I used a different reason.
“We can take that risk.” He insisted in response.
I knew that he was doing his job keeping me safe, but I shook my head and said, “No, I won’t allow that.”
With a firm look on my face, I looked right back at him as he tried insisting on using the wyverns to scout from the sky.
So in the end, there was a deadlock between the two of us as neither backed down.
But in the end, Klein did back down since he knew that I was speaking out of concern for them.
“We’ll go slow and scout from this place.” That was the concession that I made in the end.
What I really wanted to do was just head into the forest and search, but I knew that he wouldn’t allow this to happen since it was too dangerous. So instead, I chose to create a net and sweep through this place to see if we could find anything.
This was the safest method that we could use, but it would reach a limit eventually since we only had so many people.
For now, this was the method that Klein agreed to.
I also took a position among the net since I wasn’t just going to stand here and wait.
Which was why there was an uneven distribution in the end as they sent people to make sure that I was safe.
I didn’t have to do this, but I wanted to see what was in the forest for myself which was why I insisted on going for a few steps at the very least.
The moment that I entered the forest, I couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy.
Turning to Klein, I asked, “Do you feel something watching us?”
Klein wasn’t the only one that had a confused look on his face, the rest of the royal guards did too which showed that they weren’t sensing what I was sensing. However, they didn’t dare let their guards down as they all drew their weapons and prepared for a fight.
In the end, they weren’t able to find anything even after carefully searching the entire area.
But even so, I was certain that there was something watching us.
For me to notice something that they couldn’t…
“Is it related to divine energy?”
It made sense since this was a trial that was related to the gods.
At the same time, they had created that array with divine energy to lock the entrance to this place.
It seemed that this really wasn’t simple…
