Chapter 2054: Fell out of a tree

I tried stretching out my senses as much as possible to see if I could find anything, but there really wasn’t anything in the end.

No matter how I tried, the only thing that I could sense was that there was something watching us. I just wasn’t able to find the source of those gazes since they were completely hidden.

But it also seemed like Klein and the others weren’t seeing anything.

The way that they looked at me showed the doubts that they had about what I was saying, but I really wasn’t making this up.

Even now, I could still feel the gazes from all around us.

I knew that there was something that was watching us from afar.

It was just that I had no idea what it was.

“Let’s go back.” I said all of a sudden.

The royal guards weren’t against this suggestion.

Even if they didn’t see the thing that I was referring to, they still treated it as a potential threat. Something that we couldn’t see at all, there was no doubt that this thing would be dangerous.

It was best if we returned to the clearing which seemed safer than the middle of this forest.

Though for me, what I really wanted to know was if those gazes would follow us to the clearing.

Before this, I didn’t feel those gazes on us when we were at the clearing, so I at least knew that they hadn’t been watching us until we entered the forest. As for when they started watching us, that wasn’t something that I was certain about.

We hadn’t gone that far from the clearing since we were just scouting the area and it didn’t take long for us to arrive back at the clearing.

Once we were back in then clearing…

“They’re still watching.”

It wasn’t just Klein and the others that followed me that looked at me with a strange look, the rest of the royal guards that came to see what was happening all felt the same way.

They all looked at me as if they were worried that I had gone crazy.

After all, there wasn’t a single one of them that was sensing the same thing that I was.

None of them could sense what I was talking about, so they thought that the stress was getting to me and I was sensing things that weren’t there.

If it wasn’t for my track record, then they would have restrained me then and there for my own good even if I was their king. After all, they wouldn’t just let me hurt myself by chasing after things that weren’t there.

But I understood where they were coming from.

Even I had doubts that I was actually sensing anything since I couldn’t find anything other than this sensation of being watched.

After a while, I finally came to a decision, “Let’s go, we’re leaving.”

Klein and the others were surprised since this was the first time that I had this kind of reaction. The person that I was before this was someone that insisted on seeing things through to the end no matter how unlikely it seemed.

But now I was actually saying that we should give up right away.

They all looked at me as if they thought that I was a completely different person.

There was a part of me that couldn’t help feeling a bit bitter seeing them look at me like this, but I didn’t say anything about it. I knew what kind of person I was in the past, so I could understand why they looked at me like this.

Still, they came back to their senses and followed me out of this place in the end.

But before we could actually leave, there was a sound that came from behind us.

It just sounded like a simple rustle of the trees that was caused by some wind, but I knew that it wasn’t that. After all, I could feel that one of the gazes had disappeared when this sound rang out.

Without any hesitation, I ran off in that direction to see what it was that was there.

During this time, the royal guards all had bitter looks on their faces when they saw me run off like this. However, they didn’t say anything as they quickly followed behind me and looked like they were prepared for anything.

When I reached the place that the sound came from, I found something strange.

There was a hole in the ground where the sound came from, but that wasn’t the only thing that was there.

The sound that rang out was the sound of something heavy hitting the ground, which was why it wasn’t surprising that there was this hole.

The only thing that was surprising was the thing that was inside of the hole.

I didn’t even know what I was looking at at first because of how strange this thing looked, but it didn’t take long for me to figure it out.

“It’s a rock, isn’t it?” Klein said from behind me.

This thing was indeed a rock, but it wasn’t just a simple rock.

After all, there was no rock in this world that would have arms and legs, right?

But the tone that Klein asked this question made it clear that he wasn’t seeing the same thing that I was. After all, if he had seen the same thing, then the first thing that he would have questioned would be the arms and legs just like me.

So for him to ignore this…

“What are you?” I asked the rock while ignoring the strange looks that the others gave me.

They all looked at me as if they thought I had gone crazy, but I didn’t say anything as I waited for a response from this rock.

Eventually, the rock moved when it saw that I wasn’t going away.

However, the moment that it moved, I had already reached out to grab it since I knew that it would try to run.
