Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2057: Dying source

Chapter 2057: Dying source
Following the ’rock elementals’, we soon arrived in a place that could be called a village.
Though from the perspective of a human, it really didn’t seem like that.
From the perspective of a human, it was better to call this place a gathering of rocks.
The homes that these rock elementals lived in seemed to be completely made out of stone which was fitting for rock elementals like them.
But it was just a bunch of rocks in the eyes of humans.
The only reason that we knew that they were homes was because there were more little stone creatures that came out of them. It seemed like I had completely underestimated just how many of these rock elementals there were.
When they saw this, Klein and the royal guards couldn’t help tensing up as they were worried about being surrounded by them.
But I gave them a look to have them calm down and not act rashly.
Once we were in this village, it really felt strange since the scale was different.
The rock homes were naturally the right size for these little stone creatures, but that meant that they were small compared to human buildings.
In fact, even the largest building in this place was actually shorter than any of us.
We could easily see the tops of the buildings with how short they were.
It was as if we had become the giants in this place.
When they came out, it seemed like the little stone creatures of the village were curious about us. They looked at us as if they were looking at some kind of animal on display, which did make us feel a bit uncomfortable.
However, the one that was the most uncomfortable was naturally me.
It was because most of them were just staring right at me.
I could see that they were whispering with the small stone creatures that had brought us here, so they were the ones that were telling the ones from the village about me which led to them staring at me like this.
It really felt like I was some kind of display that they were watching.
Eventually, the crowd parted as a group came over.
With how they were respected, it seemed that this group was most likely the group of leaders for this village.
Though from our human eyes, we really couldn’t tell whether there was a difference between this group of leaders and the rest of the rock elementals. After all, they all looked the same in our eyes…
But for me, I could tell that there was something different about these leaders.
It seemed that they had a stronger concentration of energy in them.
It wasn’t exactly divine energy and it wasn’t mana either. But it also wasn’t like the energy that the qilin possessed.
This really was a form of energy that was hard to describe…
Once they made their way over, the one that led this group looked up at me and said, “Representative of the gods, we’ve been waiting for your arrival for a long time. It was long prophesied that you would come to our village.”
Then in a softer voice that I could still hear, they said, “Though it was said that you would have arrived much sooner than this.”
A wry feeling filled me when I heard this, but I didn’t say anything in the end as I waited for this leader to continue speaking.
“I am the elder of the village, you may address me as elder. For us rock elementals, we have names that can only be said in our own language and there is no direct translation in your language for our names.”
I couldn’t help raising a brow to look at the elder when they said this, but it didn’t seem like the elder was planning on telling me anything more about the rock elementals as it suddenly turned around.
With the way that the crowd parted and how the elder kept moving forward, it was clear that they wanted us to follow them.
However, I couldn’t help feeling a bit hesitant since I had no idea where they were taking us…
But I still followed them in the end since standing around wasn’t going to get us anywhere.
From what we could see, it seemed like the elder was taking us to the very center of the village. However, it didn’t seem like there was anything special that was in that place other than a single rock pillar.
This was similar to some of the other rock buildings that were around us, so it really didn’t seem out of place at all.
Though when we got closer, I could tell that there was something special about this rock pillar.
It only made sense if it was the only thing that was in the center of the village. When we came closer, we could see that there was what seemed to be a ring where nothing was placed near that rock pillar.
This seemed to be a zone that was created so that nothing would approach this rock pillar.
Almost as if it was some kind of taboo zone.
Once we reached a certain point, the elder stopped and turned around to look at me to say, “As you can see, the source of our world is dying and the only one that can help us is the representative of the gods as per the prophecy.”
After the elder said this, they looked at me as if they were waiting for me to do something.
But even if they looked at me like this, it wasn’t as if I knew what they were expecting me to do.
After all, I had no idea what this pillar was and what they were expecting me to do here.
So it wasn’t as if I knew what they meant by this.
I looked down at the elder and said, “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I need you to explain what is happening here.”
