Chapter 2060: Power of the rock elementals

After a while, I put my hand back onto the rock pillar without pulling back.

Of course, this was after I had already tested this method several times.

I had learned that it wasn’t hard for me to actually control how much of my divine energy was actually being drained away by this rock pillar.

After all, the connection that formed with the rock pillar was one that wasn’t aggressive. This was a kind of connection that was clearly formed so that both sides would benefit from it.

Since it wasn’t aggressive, it was easy for me to control it.

The only reason that it hadn’t been under control before was because I didn’t know what I was doing.

But now that I had tested it several times, it was easy for me to control the rate of divine energy being released with just a single thought. So now it wasn’t as if I was being drained by the rock pillar.

As more and more divine energy was being sent into the rock pillar, it wasn’t hard to see the changes that came over it.

It was only the rock elementals that were able to see it at first, but then we were able to see it as well. It was clear that this rock pillar was indeed getting bigger and bigger as more and more divine energy was being injected into it.

Not only that, I could feel the push that came from this rock pillar.

As it grew larger, it was taking up more space and it was pushing my hand back while it was growing.

When I felt that, it really wasn’t hard to tell that this rock pillar was growing in size.

After a while, I stopped giving the rock pillar divine energy.

It had already doubled in size and it wasn’t as if the consumption was that low when it came to restoring this rock pillar.

At the same time, I needed some time to digest what I had gained from it.

I could feel the change that came over the divine energy that I possessed.

The symbiosis really did help my divine energy become much stronger than before.

But it didn’t seem like it was over yet.

It seemed like after this rock pillar grew bigger, the rock elementals seemed to have something to do with it.

It wasn’t just the elder’s group alone that was here, it seemed like most of the village had been gathered.

Though it wasn’t that they were just gathering for the sake of gathering, there was a reason why they had all come together like this.

It seemed like they were holding some kind of festival with how many things they brought with them.

As soon as they came over, they started setting up things that didn’t really seem like food for us humans. However, we could see the way that these rock elementals looked at these things and it was similar to how humans looked at delicious food.

So they were most likely setting up some kind of feast, even if it looked like a bunch of rocks to us…

It was just that we had no idea what they were setting this up for.

If it was just to celebrate the fact that their saviour was here, then they would have done this a long time ago. Or at least, they wouldn’t have done it right when I was finished with injecting divine energy into the rock pillar.

It was as if they didn’t want me to be a part of this feast or something.

But it turned out that there was a different reason for this.

The main reason that they were holding this feast was because it was some kind of ceremony.

After they were done eating the rocks that had been set out other than a portion that was set aside for a certain reason, it seemed like they were starting the ceremony.

All of the rock elementals gathered around the rock pillar and just surrounded it without moving.

With the way that they surrounded the rock pillar, it was as if they were hosting some kind of mass prayer.

When this happened, there was this light that appeared around the rock pillar.

It was the glow of the divine energy inside the rock pillar, but what was it for?

This divine energy inside the rock pillar was for creation, so did that mean that they were trying to create something?

That question was answered much sooner than I expected.

This divine energy was converted into what seemed to be soil before being released in all directions.

When this happened, it seemed like the rock pillar did shrink a bit since a part of its power had been used for the creation of this dirt.

However, it was strange that they would use the power of this rock pillar just to create dirt like this.

It didn’t seem to make any sense why they would only want dirt…

After the dirt was made, the rock elementals stood up and started celebrating again.

However, I had to ask the elder, “What was that for?”

The elder didn’t seem to mind this question at all as they said in a happy voice, “That was our blessing ceremony. To maintain this land, we need to inject vitality into it through this blessing ceremony.”

“Vitality? You mean the dirt?” I asked in a confused voice.

With a nod, the elder said, “That’s right. The land can’t live without new vitality and we inject it with this blessing ceremony.”

I didn’t exactly understand what the elder meant by this, but I did sense the divine energy inside of the dirt that had been sent flying.

Then did they mean that they were rejuvenating the dirt of this place with the divine energy?

If that was the case, then I could understand what they meant by the source was dying.

There was nothing that could live when there was no life in the very foundation that they lived in.

That was why the land above had turned into a wasteland in the first place.
