Chapter 2062: Domain

With the control that I had in this area, I couldn’t help thinking of a technique that was commonly found in novels in my past life.

“Is this a domain?” I couldn’t help asking myself as I stared at the layer of dirt around me.

From what I knew about domains in my past life, this should be a domain since it was an area that I was able to influence with my divine energy.

Only I didn’t know what kind of domain this was.

Even if it felt like I could control everything that was in this space, it wasn’t as if there was anything special that I could do in this space.

Normally domains would have some kind of special attribute that would define it. However, this domain was formed with dirt that was created with the divine energy that I put in the rock pillar.

It wasn’t as if there was anything special about this dirt to begin with.

After thinking about it, I waved my hand and let that dirt drop down to the ground.

This time, I pulled out the orb and held it up in front of me as I focused on drawing out the power of the orb.

The dirt was only created with my divine energy, but it wasn’t as if this dirt was something that I had created. So in the end, there was only so much that I could do with it.

“Instead, I should see if I can form a domain with things that I created.”

Though as I held that orb, I didn’t really know what I was supposed to use to create that domain with. It wasn’t as if there was anything specific that I needed to use to create that domain around me.

So after thinking about it for a bit, I created the same weapons as before.

Once they were created, I had them surround me in the same way that the dirt had surrounded me.

Though I hadn’t been expecting anything from this, the moment that the weapons surrounded me…

“So this is a domain?” I looked at the way that the weapons positioned themselves.

I had only wanted the weapons to surround me, but they had done it in a way that seemed to form some kind of formation. I didn’t have them arrange themselves in any special way, but they did it anyway.

It was strange seeing this, but I could feel the connection that came from the weapons.

It would only take a single thought for me to…

“Attack.”

As soon as I said this, there was a change that came over the weapons.

Several of the weapons that had been behind me seemed to disappear, but I knew that this was just them taking another form. The divine energy that was used to create those weapons had broken down and moved through the formation.

This divine energy flowed to where I wanted to attack and entered the weapons that were there. Once they entered the weapons there, they took the form of weapons once more and stabbed in the location that I wanted.

“Defend.”

When I gave this order, the weapons that had been there broke down once more into the divine energy form. Though there were a few weapons that remained there as a conduit, most of the weapons broke back down into the divine energy form.

Then all of a sudden, there was a shield that appeared.

This wasn’t a shield that was made of weapons, this was a proper shield made of an unknown material.

Seeing this, I decided to continue changing the divine energy between these two forms.

Though I did add in a few things.

Instead of just weapons, I changed some of the divine energy into bows that shot arrows made of divine energy at the area that I targeted.

This domain that I formed was capable of creating anything that I imagined as long as I was providing the divine energy to form it.

But it went just beyond that since I filled this space with divine energy.

It meant that as long as I thought of it, it would be capable of appearing as long as it was in this domain.

So it went beyond just controlling weapons that were created with divine energy. It reached the point where I was able to control this entire space with the divine energy that I released.

This cut the reaction time for any attack that I used down to mere milliseconds.

It was on a completely different level from how I used the orb to fight previously.

The only thing that I couldn’t help thinking about was just how wide I could make this domain.

“Let’s test it out then.” I muttered under my breath before releasing even more divine energy. As I released the divine energy, I could feel the domain getting wider and wider until it reached a certain point where it no longer grew.

It wasn’t that there wasn’t enough power to make it grow, it was that there was a limit to how much divine energy I could control. Even if I had more divine energy, the domain itself couldn’t take that divine energy.

It was a matter of mastery rather than not having enough power.

Still, this domain did cover quite the large area with the mastery that I did have.

This was a new technique after all, so it wasn’t strange that I wasn’t that skilled at using it.

But the fact that I learned this while I had been sent to help these rock elementals…

There was a part of me that wondered if I had been sent here on purpose.

Though in the end, I threw that thought out since that didn’t matter.

Whether it was on purpose or not, it wasn’t as if I would be able to find out.

The more that I knew about how to use this power, the better.

The more that I could do with this, the better I could protect myself in the future.
