Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2068: Living ancestor

Chapter 2068: Living ancestor
Knowing that this rock wasn’t normal, I couldn’t help wondering why the elder had brought me here.
However, the elder just ignored me as it went over to the rock.
When the elder came to the rock’s side, it suddenly said, “Ancestor, we’re here to see you.”
As soon as the elder said this, the entire cave seemed to come to life. It was as if whatever was inside of that rock was controlling this entire cave.
Seeing this, I couldn’t help thinking of what I had seen from the rock constructs earlier.
When the rock elementals absorbed the power of other rock elementals, it not only made them stronger, it also increased the size of those rock elementals. From what I had seen, it didn’t seem like there was a limit to how big the rock elementals had become.
This cave and the hill that it was a part of…it could be part of something that was much bigger than I thought.
But if that was the case, I couldn’t help wondering how many had died for this ancestor to reach this level. After all, this certainly wasn’t a level that could be reached just by absorbing the powers of a few rock elementals.
This was the level of power that could only be reached by absorbing hundreds or even thousands.
Then there was this divine energy that could rival that of a god’s messenger.
It wasn’t something that could be gained unless one had directly obtained this power from a god.
This ancestor that the elder was having me meet was without a doubt one that had existed for a long time.
This was an ancestor that I would be able to get the information that I wanted from.
After the cave seemed to shake for a bit, it seemed like it came to an end.
The rock that was in the center floated up in the air for a bit before something suddenly came around it and it took a humanoid form. Though this form still wasn’t exactly a humanoid since it was still made of rocks.
But at least it seemed more like a human than the other rock elementals.
After forming itself, the one that was called the ancestor sat down in what seemed to be a chair. It wasn’t a fancy chair, this was one that was created by the ancestor and was made of rocks.
With the way that it sat there, it really seemed like a grandfather that was just tired of standing.
It didn’t seem like the powerful ancestor of the rock elementals at all.
Only after it sat down, the way that it looked at me showed that it knew far more than its appearance showed. It seemed like it was seeing through me with the way that it looked at me.
After a long silence, the rock elemental ancestor finally said, “So you came in the end.”
I couldn’t help raising a brow in confusion as I had no idea what the rock elemental ancestor meant by this. Especially since it said it in a way that really made it seem like it recognized me.
Only I had never seen this rock elemental ancestor before.
“Do we know each other?” That was all that I could ask in the end.
“Ha, ha, ha, not at all.”
The answer that the rock elemental ancestor gave made me even more confused as I had no idea what this was supposed to mean.
However, it didn’t seem like that rock elemental ancestor was planning to explain with the way that it was acting.
After a long period of laughter, the rock elemental ancestor finally said, “A long time, someone told me about you. That’s why I’ve been waiting for you all this time.”
I couldn’t help knitting my brows when I heard this.
The way that the rock elemental ancestor said this really didn’t sound good.
Who would have known about me all that time ago and have told the rock elemental ancestor?
No matter how one thought about it, it really didn’t seem to make any sense at all.
But in the end, there wasn’t anything that I could say since I could see the way that the rock elemental ancestor looked at me. It wasn’t as if anything that I said would actually change its mind.
“Can you tell me about your rock elemental tribe and what happened during the first war?”
“It’s very simple, we received the power of the gods because of the ugly fighting between our own tribe and that was how we came to fight in their war.”
The way that the rock elemental ancestor described it really seemed to simplify everything that happened. It was exactly what I had already seen from the play that they had put on for me.
This wasn’t the information that I had been looking for.
As such, I said, “That can’t be all that happened. I’m sure there are more details than this.”
The rock elemental ancestor looked at me and calmly said, “Of course there’s more, it’s just that there’s a lot that I can’t tell you.”
Hearing the same thing that the gods told me coming from the rock elemental ancestor made me knit my brows once more.
“Why can’t you tell me?”
“It’s very simple. You’re not ready for it yet.”
There was a part of me that really wanted to say something, but there was also something that seemed to be suppressing this. As if there was a part of me that was almost agreeing with him.
Though I knew that this wasn’t something that I would feel naturally, so there had to be something that was controlling me to feel this way.
It seemed that there was indeed more at work here than met the eyes…
So in the end, I could only say with a sigh, “Then tell me what you can tell me.”
This time, the rock elemental ancestor said with what seemed to be a smile, “Sure.”
