Chapter 2080: Red gem

As I expected, there was indeed a chamber filled with magma that was waiting for me.

It was just that this chamber of magma wasn’t designed the way that I had expected it to be.

This chamber wasn’t a normal chamber of magma at all, it seemed like it had been designed in a special way for people to enter it.

There were even see through tunnels that seemed to be made out of some kind of crystal that blocked the magma around us. It seemed like this tunnel was to lead us to the center where there was another chamber made of crystal waiting for us.

When I entered this chamber of magma, I immediately felt the divine energy coming from in front of us.

“So this chamber was created to hold the source…but it’s still strange that it would be designed in a way that would allow others to access it. Did the gods already predict this or was it for some other reason?” I couldn’t help thinking as I looked at the crystal corridors all around us.

It seemed that there wasn’t just a single entrance, but multiple entrances from all around the volcano.

The more that I looked at this structure, the more confused I felt about all of this.

But I immediately lost interest in this when I reached the end of the crystal corridor.

That was because there was something else there that caught my attention.

It was something that was right in the center of this chamber that seemed to be made of crystal.

The reason that it caught my eye was…

“This divine energy, it’s creation attributed divine energy as expected.”

There was this red gem that was in the center of this chamber made of crystal.

If I had to guess, this thing was most likely the same as the rock pillar that had been in the center of the rock elemental’s village. This thing was the source of this realm that the flame elementals lived in.

So it meant that this was the thing that I was supposed to fill with my divine energy.

After realizing this, I looked around the crystal chamber to see if there was anything here that I could use as a clue. I wanted to see just how big the red gem would have been if it had been at its full size.

However, I noticed that there wasn’t a ring like there had been around the rock pillar.

The flame elemental elder seemed confused at first as to what I was doing, but then it seemed like it understood what I was looking for and said, “It filled the entire chamber.”

I was surprised to hear this, but then I looked at the walls of the crystal chamber.

When I looked at it closely, I could see that there was this red colour that seemed to be there.

I had thought that this red colour came from the magma that surrounded the crystal chamber. But when I looked at it closely, I found that this wasn’t the case.

After all, this was a different colour from the red of the magma.

When I looked at it closely, I found that this red matched the red that came from the gem in the center.

So it turned out that this was caused by the red gem rubbing up against the crystal walls and leaving this colour on the wall. It wasn’t like fragments were left behind in the crystal wall, it was more like it had been dyed that colour by the red gem.

It was a strange sight, but I didn’t mind it that much as I turned back to the red gem.

Since this thing was in front of me, there was only one thing to do.

But before approaching the red gem, I had to brace myself.

Since this was the source of this place, it meant that the heat that filled this entire place should have come from this red gem. There was no doubt that it would take a lot of resistance to approach this red gem.

In the end, I found that I was wrong.

“What’s wrong? Why are you just standing there?” The flame elemental elder looked at me with a strange look when it saw me standing there just staring at this red gem.

I turned to it to say, “I’m just preparing myself for the heat that this thing is letting off?”

Only the flame elemental elder looked at me with another strange look before asking, “What heat?”

I looked back at it with a confused look as well before saying, “Well, it’s the source of this place, so shouldn’t it also be the source of the heat?”

As soon as it heard this, there was a smile that appeared on the face of the flame elemental elder.

It didn’t say anything as it suddenly came behind me and started pushing me forward.

I wanted to stop it, but I found that the heat that I had been expecting didn’t come.

In fact, it felt like the heat was actually disappearing as I approached this red gem.

It was as if whatever this red gem was, it was actually sucking the heat out of the air.

After a certain point, the flame elemental elder suddenly stopped and said, “This is as close as I can get. You’ll have to go the rest of the way yourself.”

A strange smile appeared on my face when I heard this, but I continued forward as the flame elemental elder said.

When I finally approached this red gem, I felt that the heat around me had returned to normal. It seemed that this red gem cancelled out all of the heat from this place and returned it to a normal temperature.

As I placed my hand on this red gem, I couldn’t help thinking to myself, “Is this something that the gods did when they created this thing as a countermeasure so others could approach it?”
