Chapter 2082: Strange design

When I went to inject divine energy into the red gem, the flame elemental elders would always come with me.

However, I could see that they weren’t just coming with me to guide me there.

It also wasn’t that they were coming with me to see the hope of the red gem growing bigger.

The way that they observed the red gem as I injected divine energy into it was as if they were monitoring the health of the red gem.

Which was why on the fourth day, the flame elemental elder finally said, “It’s big enough now.”

The other flame elementals all had excited expressions on their faces when they heard this before heading off to take care of something.

I just looked at the flame elemental elder with one brow raised as if I was asking it what was going on, but the flame elemental elder didn’t seem to care about the way that I looked at it.

It seemed like the only thing that the flame elemental elder was seeing was the red gem that was still growing bigger as I injected more divine energy into it.

After a while, I saw that the entire village of flame elementals had been summoned by the others that had left. The other thing that I noticed was that most of them had been carrying something.

These things were hard for me to figure out since they were made of flames, but it seemed like they were bringing things over for some kind of ceremony.

The flame elemental elder had said that they weren’t going to host one, but now they were bringing things over to do just that. It seemed that whatever the reason was, it had already been solved.

Once all of the flame elementals gathered, they didn’t waste any time in setting things up.

It was just that they didn’t do things the way that I thought they would.

Instead of setting things up inside of the crystal chamber, they actually set things up outside of the chamber where the magma was. What they did was open up special openings in the crystal chamber that allowed them to reach the magma.

These were special one way openings that allowed them to get out without letting any of the magma in.

I didn’t expect these openings to exist on this crystal chamber, but leave it to the flame elementals to know about this. After all, they had been here for far longer than me, so it wasn’t strange that they knew about all of this.

After they had set everything up, the flame elemental elder looked at me as if it wanted to say something.

That was why I stopped what I was doing and waited for it to speak.

Seeing that I stopped injecting the divine energy, the flame elemental elder said, “We’re about to host a ceremony, the one that you asked about previously. Since it’ll be dangerous for you to remain here, please follow me to a safe place.”

I didn’t expect to hear this, but I also wanted to see the ceremony that they were about to host. That was why I simply said, “But I want to observe.”

“We want you to observe as well.” The flame elemental elder caught me off guard when it said this, but then it said, “I’m guiding you to a safe place so you can observe this ceremony. It would be our honour to have the god’s representative observe our ceremony.”

There was only sincerity in its voice when it said this, which was why I couldn’t help feeling even more confused.

But I still followed the flame elemental elder as it led the way.

It didn’t take long for us to reach the place that they wanted me to observe from.

Though I couldn’t help revealing a strange look when I saw it.

“This is a very strange design…”

That was the only thought that was on my mind when I saw the door opening to this observation room.

It was actually one that was made from crystal and it was a part of the large crystal tank. The only reason that I hadn’t seen it previously was because the crystals were transparent, which made it hard to see that there was an entire open space here.

The more that I looked at it, the more I felt that it didn’t make any sense that this was placed here.

In the first place, why would they create this kind of observation room in the place that they created to hold the red gem?

The more that I thought about it, the more I wanted to know just what the person designing this place had been thinking when they created this space. It really didn’t seem like they were actually thinking about the functionality at all, it was as if they only cared about how it looked…

In the end, I stepped into the space without saying anything since I could see the excited looks on the faces of the flame elementals.

Even if there were questions that I wanted to ask, I could guess that there was something else that they wanted to do. They really weren’t focused on me at all and they were only focused on preparing everything for the ceremony.

During this time, the flame elementals in the magma around us had been setting everything up.

With how many flame elementals there were, it didn’t actually take long for them to set everything up. And there was quite a bit that was set up since they didn’t seem to spare any expense for this ceremony.

It seemed that they wanted to make this the best ceremony ever with how extravagant they went.

I knew what the flame elemental elder was thinking, so I just said, “Go on and take care of the ceremony. You don’t need to worry about me.”

When the flame elemental elder heard this, it gave a nod before closing the door to this chamber for me and heading back to the red gem.
