Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2087: Much more open

Chapter 2087: Much more open
The flame elementals had actually prepared a place for me to sit with the ancestors and talk.
Though they said ancestors, there really were only the two of them.
It wasn’t as if there were that many more and from the aura that came from them, it was easy to tell that they weren’t as strong as the rock elemental ancestor.
Even if they had spread their essence out to save this place, it still wasn’t enough to compete with the rock elemental ancestor.
As if they could guess what I was thinking from my expression, one of the flame elemental ancestor said, “You can’t compare us to that old rock. He’s the one that worked with the gods first and paved the path for the rest of us.”
The other flame elemental ancestor just gave a nod in agreement.
But the casual way that they said this completely caught me off guard.
There was a strange look that appeared on my face after hearing this, but the flame elemental ancestors didn’t seem to mind at all. It was as if this was something that was very normal for them.
I couldn’t help thinking that these flame elemental ancestors were certainly much more open compared to the rock elemental ancestor.
If it was the rock elemental ancestor, then it certainly wouldn’t have said all of this.
Since they were so open about this, that meant that I would be able to take advantage of this.
“Can you tell me a bit more about the past? I want to know what happened during the war of the gods.”
The two flame elemental ancestors looked at each other which worried me at first, but then they nodded in agreement before they started taking turns telling the story.
The problem was that the story that they told was one that I was already familiar with.
It was the same story that the rock elemental ancestor had told me, but there were a few more details in this story compared to the one that the rock elemental ancestor told me.
These small details were things that could have been skipped, but it seemed like these flame elemental ancestors were planning on telling everything.
I honestly preferred the way that the rock elemental ancestor told the story since it was short and concise. The story that the flame elemental ancestors told was one that kept getting sidetracked because one of them wanted to add another detail.
There was no doubt that they were more open about sharing information, the problem was that the information that they wanted to share really wasn’t that relevant.
It was information that they might find interesting, but it wasn’t interesting for those that didn’t live in that time period.
As such, I just had to wait to see if they would give me any information that would be considered new.
But in the end, it seemed that this was all in vain.
So with a sigh, I asked, “I’ve heard all of this before. Is there anything new that you can tell me?”
The two flame elemental ancestors looked at each other as if they were confused by what I said before they asked, “What do you want to know? You just asked about the war between the gods, so we told you about what happened back then.”
My lips couldn’t help twitching in response to this, but I calmed myself down and said, “Do you know anything about the gods?”
The two of them didn’t say anything at first, but then they said, “Of course we know about the gods. We’ve met all kinds of gods when we fought with them in the past.”
My eyes lit up at this before I said, “Can you tell me about them?”
The two flame elemental ancestors seemed to take a moment to think about this before they started telling me all kinds of things about the gods.
It was just that none of this was what I wanted to know.
“There was this one god I remembered that used to hide snacks from the other gods. Didn’t we catch them in the middle of hiding her snacks?”
“Right, she was hiding it from that one god in particular that always chased after her. But then again, he was the one that always gave her snacks, wasn’t he?”
“The two of them really were interesting with the way that they went back and forth.”
The flame elemental ancestors were certainly more open than the rock elemental ancestor, but that didn’t mean that it was a good thing. After all, it meant that they were very easy to distract and would go on all kinds of tangents.
At the same time, they would talk about all kinds of things that they considered interesting without thinking about others.
The rock elemental ancestor was much more closed, but they were also much more stable compared to the two of them. They knew how to choose the right things to say and not blabber on like this.
In the end, I finally couldn’t take it anymore as I said, “Can you tell me something about the gods and what kind of things they did in the war?”
This time, it seemed like the mood changed.
The moment that I asked this question, it was as if there was something that dampened the mood of the flame elemental ancestors.
I couldn’t help feeling off seeing the serious way that the two of them looked at me.
This completely changed the way that I looked at these two ancestors.
At the same time, the mood seemed to completely change with how they changed.
“This isn’t something that we can tell you.”
The definitive way that they said this was as if they would have no more discussion on this matter.
It was something that caught me off guard, but it didn’t seem like I was going to be able to ask anything else.
After all, they could just as easily disappear if I were to push this matter.
I just couldn’t understand why they acted this way all of a sudden.
