I didn’t even wait until the next morning to head down to see the flame elementals.

When they saw me, they were naturally surprised to find me coming down again.

After all, they had seen the way that I had left.

They thought that it would have taken me some time to come to terms with what I heard and come back down.

However, it wasn’t as if they didn’t welcome me.

After all, I was their hope in restoring their home.

With the way that they looked at me, it was as if they were hoping that I would go and inject more divine energy into the red gem.

But that wasn’t the reason that I was here.

The reason that I was here was actually to dim this hope that they were all feeling which made it even more awkward for me to actually say anything. Especially when I saw the way that they all looked at me.

Only I knew that the longer that I delayed this, the worse that it would become.

This had to be a bandaid that was ripped off quickly or else it would become more troublesome later on.

So that was why I suddenly asked, “The ceremony that you’ve been holding, when will you hold the next one?”

The flame elementals were caught off guard when I asked this before looking at me with confused expressions as if they couldn’t understand why I had suddenly asked this.

But I didn’t say anything even though they looked at me like this.

The flame elemental elder was the one that answered, “We were planning on holding another one soon. Our home is slowly recovering, but it would be best if we topped up the elemental energy in this place.”

The way that the flame elemental elder said this made it hard for me to say what I wanted to say next, but it still had to be done.

“For now, don’t hold any more ceremonies.”

When I said this, I couldn’t help feeling a bit confused.

That was because there wasn’t a surprised or confused look that appeared on the face of the flame elemental elder.

In fact, none of the flame elementals looked surprised to hear this.

Though there was a trace of disappointment in their eyes when they heard this.

“Right, I forgot about that. It seems like we’ve been too rash with this matter.” The flame elemental elder said with a sigh in the end which made me even more confused.

After all, this ending didn’t seem right.

It didn’t seem like this was the appropriate response for what I had just told them.

But it didn’t seem like the flame elementals were planning to explain why they just accepted what I said that easily. It seemed like they were thinking about something else that was bothering them.

However, the fact that they accepted that easily was bothering me in the end…

“Why did you accept what I said so easily?”

The flame elemental elder was surprised that I asked this before saying, “It was our fault in the first place since we were in a rush. In the first place, we weren’t supposed to hold the ceremony until things had settled. All of this was in the prophecy that was passed down to us.”

A very strange look appeared on my face when I heard this.

After all, this was completely new to me.

I had never heard of this before…

But before I could ask anything else, there were flames that suddenly started to gather.

I didn’t panic when I saw this since this was something that I had seen before.

I knew that the flames were gathering because the ancestors were revealing themselves. They had scattered their flames all over this place, so it wasn’t strange that they would be able to appear out of nowhere.

It also wasn’t strange that they would be listening to what we were saying all the time.

Though it did feel a bit weird to be watched like this.

Once the flames had finished gathering, the flame elemental ancestors revealed themselves.

The other flame elementals showed their respect, but it seemed like the ancestors were focused on me.

“We’ll explain what this situation is to you.”

The way that they said this made me even more confused, but it seemed like they were planning to explain. Since that was the case, there was no need for me to make things more difficult.

The two ancestors moved away from the rest of the flame elementals.

From the way that they were acting, it was as if this was something that they didn’t want to share with the rest of them.

Once we were away from the rest of the flame elementals, that was when the two ancestors turned around to look at me. But even though they looked at me, it didn’t seem like they were going to say anything.

The way that they looked at me was as if there was something that was on their minds.

I didn’t say anything at first, but I couldn’t help it when they kept remaining silent.

“It’s a seal.” One of the ancestors suddenly responded.

I wasn’t surprised hearing this since I already knew that this was the case, but I could tell that there might be something different about this. From the look on the face of the ancestor, it seemed like they wanted to say something else about this.

“I know that the array is a seal to keep elementals in, but what does that have to do with the cold?”

“It’s to keep humans away so that they don’t disturb the seal. It makes the land completely unlivable for humans so that they don’t disturb what they shouldn’t disturb.” The ancestor said with a sigh in the end.

A surprised look appeared on my face when I heard this, but then I thought that this really did seem like the most logical explanation for this.
