Chapter 2101: Feather

With Lupus proving who I was, there was no need for me to pull out the Mark of God like usual.

With even the ancestor vouching for me, it didn’t seem like there was any fear that came from the wind elementals.

The way that things progressed was much more smooth compared to the other elementals that I had met. It was so smooth that there was a part of me that couldn’t help feeling a bit helpless.

It was as if I was being swept away by the tide.

Still, if this would allow us to accomplish our goal sooner, then there was no reason not to go along with this.

Though it wasn’t as if we had any idea of where we were going.

With the wind elementals showing us around, we were able to see even more of this place. But seeing more of this place didn’t actually mean seeing anything since this place was completely empty to begin with.

As the wind elementals explained, it was just as I had expected.

All that the wind elementals needed was proper wind and nothing else, so they didn’t even bother building homes.

In fact, they ensured that this place was empty so that there was nothing that got in the way of the wind that blew in this place. But the fact that there was even wind in this place with how empty this place was was strange.

It could only be explained with the power of the gods, which was the reason for that.

There was a part of me that was worried about finding our way back with how barren this place was, but the wind elementals guaranteed that they would be able to find the way back.

After all, it was the only place that actually had anything and the only place where the wind was blocked. So it was easy for the wind elementals to find that place.

Lupus also gave a nod to confirm this as if she knew what we were thinking.

Since they confirmed this, we followed the wind elementals deeper into this empty place.

After a while, we finally arrived at what they wanted us to see.

We weren’t able to see it from afar at first, but eventually we were able to see it.

It was hard not to see since it was the only thing that was actually here and it was standing straight up in the ground. But as for what it was, it certainly wasn’t what we had been expecting to see.

“Is that a feather?”

Everyone nodded to confirm this when we approached it.

It was a white feather that was sticking out of the ground, which made it really seem out of place here. It was just a single feather that was placed here, it didn’t seem like it was related to anything that was in this place since there was nothing else here.

“It’s made of divine energy, so this has to be it.”

Recognizing this, I went forward to place my hand on the feather.

Once I placed my hand on the feather, the same thing happened where my divine energy was being drained away by this feather.

Since it was happening, I didn’t do anything to resist as I let the feather take my divine energy.

After a while, I could see that the feather was getting larger.

All of this was the same as normal, so there was nothing that we should be surprised by. The only thing that was left to do was to make sure that the feather had recovered enough divine energy that it would be able to sustain this place.

That was something that would take time.

When the others saw that I was just providing divine energy to the feather, it seemed like they knew that there was nothing for them to do. Which was why they went around looking for a place to rest.

The only thing was that there was nothing here.

Even if they wanted to set something up with what we had brought down here, it wasn’t as if they could actually do anything since there were the wind elementals here.

If they were to set up something, it would block the wind that the wind elementals needed.

Which was why they had no choice but to stand there and wait for me to finish.

It took a while, but I finished injecting the divine energy into the feather.

With how much I had injected, the feather had already grown to double its previous size.

But even then, it was still far from being its full size.

I could tell from the connection that I had with the feather that it had far from enough divine energy to be fully charged.

It would take quite a bit more before it would be considered charged up.

Though this wasn’t surprising at all since this was how it had always been with the creation divine energy items. All of them took a long time to charge, so it wasn’t strange that this one would take a while as well.

As such, all that was left was to slowly inject the divine energy into the feather.

The only thing that I couldn’t help wonder is just how big this feather would become at this rate.

Once I was done with this, I had to find a place to set up our camp.

It wasn’t as if we could stay here since it would mean setting up tents that would bother the wind elementals. But at the same time, it wasn’t as if we could set up tents where the dangerous gas was.

While I was thinking about this, Lupus suddenly said, “Old friend, is the thing that I entrusted you still here?”

The wind elemental ancestor seemed surprised by this sudden question, but then it said with a nod, “Of course. Since you entrusted that thing to me, naturally I would keep it safe.”

“Then I want to take it back now.”
