Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2128: Not much for talking

Chapter 2128: Not much for talking
Though the withering disappeared, it didn’t seem like this tree had completely recovered to its normal state.
It looked like a tree that was just like any other tree, but a tree that was supposed to be the source of this place shouldn’t have looked like just any other tree.
This was a tree that should have had an appearance that far surpassed any other tree.
As such, this appearance meant that the recovery process was far from being over.
That was why the wood elementals didn’t seem like they wanted me to stop.
But I just gave them the same explanation that I had given to all of the other elementals.
“I need to recover before I can keep giving it more divine energy.”
There really was no argument that the wood elementals could make when I gave this explanation. That was why even though they looked disappointed, they didn’t stop me as I started moving away from the tree.
Once I was away from the tree, I went over to the wood elemental ancestor and asked, “If it’s alright, there’s something that I want to discuss with you.”
The wood elemental ancestor had gone back to its normal form after it had moved out of the way. But the face appeared once more when I called out to the wood elemental ancestor.
After the face appeared, the first thing that the wood elemental ancestor did was say, “There’s nothing for us to discuss with you.”
I couldn’t help being taken aback when I heard this.
A strange look appeared on my face as I looked at the wood elemental ancestor, but it didn’t seem like they were planning on saying anything else to me as the face started to disappear.
The more that I saw of this, the more confused that I was.
After all, the other elemental ancestors had all at least been willing to talk to me.
It didn’t make sense that this wood elemental ancestor didn’t want to talk at all.
I didn’t want to let things end just like this since it felt wrong, but what was I supposed to do with someone that didn’t want to talk to me?
Since that was the case, the only thing that I could do was move onto the next ancestor.
Or at least the one that I thought was the next ancestor since it was still only my guess that they were all different ancestors.
After moving over to the next tree, I said, “Can we have a talk?”
It didn’t seem like there was a response that came from this tree, but I just remained standing there in front of it as I waited for it to say something.
It took a while, but finally a face appeared on the tree that said, “I have nothing to talk to you about.”
Once that ancestor said this, I moved onto the next tree and asked the same question.
Again and again, there was a face that appeared on the tree that I went up to and they would always say the same thing to me. It seemed like none of the ancestors of the wood elementals were willing to talk to me.
All around me were awkward expressions.
It wasn’t just awkward expressions from my guards, it was also the wood elementals that had awkward expressions on their faces.
Normally these wood elementals would be on the same side as their ancestor, but it was different this time. After all, the person that the ancestor was going against and making things hard for was the one that had come to help them.
If they offended that person…well it wouldn’t turn out good for them.
I knew what they were thinking, so I just calmly said, “It’s not a problem that they don’t want to talk to me. I’m sure that they have their reasons.”
Though I said this, it didn’t really seem like it relieved their worries.
I wasn’t surprised that this would be the case since it really didn’t seem like a resolution.
The thing was that there was nothing else that I could say to them during this time.
After all, everything that I could have said would have sounded false.
So even if I were to tell them anything, they wouldn’t have believed me no matter what I said.
In that case, the only thing that could be done was just to leave things alone.
As for the matter with the wood elemental ancestors, the only thing that I could do was try to convince them as much as possible. All I could do was keep talking to them and hope that they would want to talk to me.
Though from what I could see, it really didn’t seem likely that they would want to talk to me.
The more that I thought about it, the more confused I was about all of this.
After all, there was no reason that they wouldn’t want to talk to me.
It wasn’t as if there was anything that I had ever done to the wood elemental ancestors before this.
In fact, I had never met with the wood elemental ancestors before now.
The more that I thought about it, the more confused I was about all of this.
But with the facts in front of me, it really was hard to deny this.
So the only thing that could be done was, “I guess I’ll just have to keep talking to them to wear them down.”
…
Several days passed and the withered tree had slowly been revived to how it was supposed to be. It was now a tree that seemed to be completely filled with life, a tree that could even be called a tree of life.
With this tree restored, the wood elementals all seemed to let out a sigh of relief at the fact that this place was safe for them now.
Though in the end, I still wasn’t able to talk to the wood elemental ancestors.
