Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy - Chapter 683 - 650: Battle of Destiny

Chapter 683: Chapter 650: Battle of Destiny
The boundless Star Realm River is both a chaotic place of survival of the fittest and a cradle nurturing countless lives.
As the saying goes, in the Star Realm River, no matter what strange and peculiar existence you encounter, you shouldn’t be surprised, for that is the norm of the starry expanse.
In one particular location, a battleship constructed entirely of blood-red bones floated silently, with loud voices occasionally emanating from within.
“Hahaha, this latest raid on Kraft’s merchant convoy was a resounding success, and the spoils are bountiful. It’s all thanks to the relentless efforts of my brothers. Come now! Let’s drink to celebrate, down this glass to the brim!”
“To the great leader!”
“——-”
“Long live the Red Bone King!”
“Long live the Red Bones!”
The battleship belonged to a locally infamous group of star pirates known as the Red Bones.
At this moment, inside one of the spacious halls of the Skeleton Battleship, the star pirates were clinking glasses and boisterously celebrating their recent victorious raid.
Though there had been minor losses during the battle, they were negligible compared to the loot seized during the plunder.
From the seating arrangement in the hall, it was clear that the Red Bones pirate group had four leaders, among whom the most renowned was the chief leader—the Red Bone King, Duwett.
Duwett sat central at the head of the table, his status obvious at a glance.
Among the four leaders, only one was female: Evil Wing King Dokali, who held the second-highest seat in the male-dominated group, a testament to her remarkable capabilities.
“Quick! Bring the finest wine and the most exquisite blood feasts here. Ensure the chief leader has his fill, and let everyone eat until they’re satisfied.”
Dokali didn’t mind the others only chanting the Red Bone King’s name. Cheerfully, she called for the waiters to serve fresh blood feasts.
Quickly, plates measuring two to three meters in length and width were brought out. Once the servers lifted the lids, the creatures underneath—still alive—were revealed. These beings had been stripped bare, cleaned meticulously, their faces etched with fear and despair.
“Hahaha, despair, yes! The more despair, the more flavorful the taste!”
“So aromatic… truly, the fresh ones smell better.”
The star pirates were not the least perturbed by the scene before them. If anything, the changing expressions of the living beings on the plates stirred their darkest delights, their laughter growing ever more unrestrained.
The hall, illuminated brightly, laid bare the raw spectacle of survival of the fittest, the air thick with the stench of blood.
Suddenly, Duwett, the chief leader, rose abruptly from his seat, his gaze seeming to pierce through layers of obstructions, staring ahead of the Skeleton Battleship into the distance, toward some unknown location.
“Chief leader?” His action instantly silenced the star pirates in the hall.
“Hahaha, it’s nothing—nothing at all! Brothers, keep eating and drinking!” Duwett, a man of great cunning, waved dismissively, signaling everyone to continue their festivities.
In reality, he had no idea what had occurred.
Moments before, he had experienced a fleeting sensation, as if encountering an adversary with whom he shared a blood-deep enmity. Yet, this feeling was transient, vanishing just as quickly as it had come.
While he reassured his comrades to feast and drink, he had already secretly dispatched a squad of his elite fighters to investigate.
Mere moments later, Duwett’s expression turned ominously dark. With a thunderous slap on the table before him, the sturdy banquet table shattered into countless pieces.
“Such audacity! To dare to disregard the Red Bones!”
The squad he had sent out had been completely annihilated. Moreover, the enemy was now advancing in their direction with unmistakable intent to annihilate the Red Bones.
“Who?”
“Which bastard dares? Bring them here as blood feasts!”
“Chief leader, why don’t I take a team and utterly destroy them?”
The moment Duwett’s words fell, the already inebriated star pirates became a riled mob, each drawing their weapons in preparation for battle.
The other three leaders mirrored their reactions.
The Red Bones’ fearsome reputation was never built on mere bluffing—it was forged through blades and bullets, through the torrents of enemy blood spilled.
“No need. They’re coming straight at us,”
Duwett continued. These words incited even greater fury among the pirates. This adversary had shown blatant disregard for them. Such audacious foes hadn’t been encountered in ages.
Under the command of their four leaders, the star pirates began preparing for the imminent battle.
At a distance from the Skeleton Battleship, another battleship steadily navigated in a single direction. The two vessels were drawing closer and closer. This advancing ship was none other than the Black Star.
At this moment, the members of the Black Star military force had just dealt with a small group of sneaky aggressors.
“We couldn’t conceal ourselves after all, but it doesn’t matter much.”
When Ivan experienced his sudden sensory perception, he instantly took measures to suppress the mutual sensing between them. Judging by the situation now, the enemy had discovered his presence and sent scouts to investigate.
The dispatched scouts turned out to be an unusual group of beings.
These beings had fleshy wings covered in dense scales on their backs, black bone armor adorning their figures. Upon closer inspection by Ivan, it became apparent that they belonged to a semi-Insect Being race, possessing sparse traces of dragon bloodlines, each one at the pseudo-lord level.
Unfortunately, the team hadn’t managed to get close; they were discovered beforehand.
The one who spotted the semi-Insect Being scout team was Sharp-Hearing Ear—Bo’er.
Within the Black Star forces, there had always been Black Star Fighting Spirit tutored by their lord, the most authentic Black Star Fighting Spirit around. Bo’er, a diminutive humanoid being, had mastered this Fighting Spirit better than anyone else.
In the span of recent years, Bo’er had even risen to become a Knight King, his status ascending to that of a military commander within the army.
