SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will - Chapter 181: The Reaper’s Judgement

Chapter 181: The Reaper’s Judgement
<Kill the intruder now!> He threw his blood-stained spear into the air in a victorious gesture that energized and motivated everyone around him into aggressive action.
Dozens of remaining Heretic warriors charged frantically toward the stationary dome, their hearts filled with burning hatred toward the human responsible for slaughtering so many of their comrades. In their minds, clouded by rage and desperation, the prolonged battle was finally approaching its inevitable conclusion.
The foreign human was foolishly stuck inside his own defensive barrier, completely unable to attack them as they closed distance for the killing blow.
He’d made the fatal mistake of giving them sufficient time to eliminate the range advantage and strike from devastating close proximity.
Within mere seconds, the Heretic warriors were already completely surrounding the earth dome from every accessible angle, their various weapons striking repeatedly against the compressed stone barrier in a group rhythm, slowly breaking it apart.
Clang! Clang! CRACK!
As they struck once, twice, three times with increasing enthusiasm, the attackers failed to notice one critical detail: the openings and cracks they’d begun creating in the dome’s surface were slowly expanding and spreading in distinctly unnatural ways.
“Idiots,” Moon smirked coldly from inside his protective sanctuary. “You just dug your own graves.”
While the Heretics had been frantically attacking his barrier from outside, Moon had been charging two of his absolute most powerful offensive techniques simultaneously, channeling massive quantities of mana into two spells.
The two attacks combined had consumed a truly enormous portion of his total mana reserves, draining him to dangerous levels. But if the strike succeeded as planned, the investment would prove absolutely worth the cost.
Concentrated electricity crackled and arced violently in Moon’s left hand, the lightning barely contained by his conscious control. Simultaneously, his most powerful Ignite construct hovered and rotated above his staff, a sphere of compressed flame so intense it was warping the air around itself with distortion.
Due to the constant, repeated use of Ignite throughout this extended battle, Moon could feel his staff slowly deteriorating durability from the extreme heat exposure. He understood that he would very soon need to acquire or commission a significantly stronger weapon, since this current implement wasn’t going to survive much longer under the constant use of Epic-tier spells.
Crackle! Crackle!
Moon waited patiently for the absolutely perfect timing, his eyes closed as he focused entirely on his sense of hearing rather than any visual or touch input. His other senses completely dulled as his sense of hearing amplified dramatically to higher levels.
Through his heightened focus, Moon eventually managed to perceive the distinct attack rhythm of the weapons striking against his barrier. The Heretics were attacking simultaneously in synchronized waves, hoping to break through the defensive dome faster by attacking at once.
What they didn’t understand was that this same attack method would very soon become their downfall.
Suddenly, Moon’s eyes snapped open, identifying the exact split-second moment he’d been patiently waiting for.
The earth dome around him completely collapsed simultaneously from all sides, deliberately through Moon’s own accord rather than enemy damage, revealing his body standing calmly at the center surrounded by dozens of shocked Heretic warriors whose eyes widened.
Their weapons were already raised high in preparation for launching their next strike—an attack that would most certainly never reach its intended target.
BZZZZT!
Moon unleashed his fully-charged lightning attack without hesitation or mercy.
The concentrated attack exploded outward in all directions simultaneously, striking through every single person standing within five meters of his position. The lightning spread and jumped between their bodies with terrifying speed, their metal weapons acting as perfect conductors that amplified the damage rather than protecting them.
The current would have completely fried single warriors to charred corpses instantly had it not been for their large clustered numbers inadvertently sharing and distributing the attack across multiple victims.
Their control over their bodies vanished instantly. Weapons fell from spasming hands, clattering against the blood-soaked ground in discordant symphony. The Heretic Chief felt his heart sink with absolute terror as complete paralysis overtook his body, rendering him completely helpless.
He could only watch with horrified eyes as Moon prepared to unleash the same catastrophic attack that had previously turned his subordinates into literal ashes during earlier exchanges.
<How… how is he this powerful…> the Chief’s paralyzed mind could only think desperately as he watched Moon leap gracefully into the air and away from the clustered group with a cold, merciless smirk on his face.
SCREEEEEECH!
Before Moon could release the prepared Ignite sphere of flames, the Black Raven sent its absolute most powerful concentrated sound attack yet deployed.
The sonic attack was so overwhelming that Moon’s face contorted involuntarily with searing pain, his hands visibly shaking from the devastating sonic pressure waves striking his entire body. He could feel his organs vibrating to the sounds, his bones too.
The attack nearly made Moon lose complete control of his spell, the mana threatening to destabilize and backfire on him. But Moon gritted his teeth with absolute determination, his passive Tenacity skill activating automatically to preserve his unbroken will and mental focus despite the agonizing distraction.
He unleashed Ignite with a roar of effort.
The massive sphere of flame streaked through the air like a descending meteor toward the Heretics who’d just barely begun regaining the power to move their bodies. Before they could move more than a single stumbling step towards their freedom, their salvation, the explosion landed directly in between them.
BOOOOOOM!
Thick clouds of dust and ash exploded violently into the air as fire erupted. An enormous blazing pillar within the five-meter radius impact zone formed.
The horrible sounds of screaming, pleading, and incoherent cries of pain surfaced briefly above the roaring explosion before being overwhelmed by crackling flames.
The horrific screaming lasted only a few seconds before the sound of burning flesh completely overpowered all other sounds.
Those warriors caught directly in the blast radius were dead. Some had been instantly reduced to fine ash, their bodies completely consumed by temperatures that exceeded cremation furnaces. Others had become grotesque pools of melted flesh and bone, barely recognizable as having once been Savi.
