SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will - Chapter 237 Overpowered Skill

Chapter 237 Overpowered Skill
Moon’s eyes immediately focused on the impact site, eager to assess the damage the skill had dealt.
Where the blue toad had stood, the stone floor was scorched black in a perfect circle. The surrounding A-rank beasts had been blown backward by the shockwave, some smoking from the discharge.
And in the center of that devastation…
The blue toad’s body lay motionless, its thick hide burnt and split open, pimpled skin blackened.
The notification appeared:
—
[You have killed the level 25 S-Rank Poison Toad]
[You have gained 1,900 Lives.]
Moon’s smile widened fiercely in satisfaction.
‘This skill is so powerful… I killed an S-rank beast in a single attack,’ Moon thought, shock rippling through his mind as he stared at the notification blazing before his eyes.
Although the skill had consumed a tad more than half of his mana reserves in one devastating burst, the result was nothing short of extraordinary. The efficiency was undeniable. The skill was a one shot, one kill.
‘The lightning element is already inherently strong among other elements since it’s a mid-tier element. But when a skill is specifically designed to maximize its destructive potential… it becomes absolutely terrifying.’
The synergy between his natural lightning affinity, the epic-ranked skill’s bonuses, had created something far more devastating than the sum of its parts.
Around the battlefield, the other S-rankers had initially heard, then moments later seen the sudden brilliant flash of lightning accompanied by the thunderous crack of its impact. But they hadn’t witnessed its actual effect on the target, their vision blocked by intervening beasts and the chaotic press of combat.
They simply assumed Moon was escalating his aggression, contributing more actively to the battle’s offensive.
Unlike him, their view of the blue toad had been nonexistent. They hadn’t even known it was there, camouflaged among the horde through its cunning suppression of its aura and strategic positioning.
Moon immediately charged toward the toad’s smoking corpse, his heart thumping with urgency inside his chest. He needed to secure the body, to claim the core before it could be lost in the chaos or accidentally destroyed by ongoing combat.
He also needed to head back to his team before any variables arise, he had left his position to secure the kill. Although only thirty seconds had passed since he left, it was still not a good thing to leave the post.
Lightning began crackling visibly around his legs as he activated [Advanced Elemental Body], channeling lightning through his lower limbs to dramatically enhance his movement speed.
He became a blur of motion, weaving through the beast horde.
Several beasts tried to intercept him during his charge, drawn by his sudden aggressive movement into their territory. Moon casually released bursts of lightning from his hands without breaking stride.
Some beasts died instantly, their nervous systems fried by concentrated voltage. Others were heavily injured, their bodies convulsing as they collapsed to create obstacles for those behind them.
[Advanced Elemental Body] was what allowed Moon to use his lightning in such an aggressive, direct manner. The skill’s effect doubled his natural resistance to all five elements he controlled, making channeling raw elemental energy through his own body far less dangerous than it would be for most mages.
It was still painful. Lightning running through flesh always hurt, the sensation of muscles involuntarily contracting and nerves firing in protest never becoming comfortable.
But it was infinitely more manageable than before he’d gained the skill. After using lightning now, Moon wouldn’t have to worry about losing feeling in his feet or dealing with muscle spasms.
The temporary discomfort was a price worth paying for the increase in mobility it provided him.
Moon reached the toad’s corpse within seconds, his sprint carrying him across the battlefield far faster than running normally would have allowed.
He immediately activated his storage ring to claim the entire body before anyone could question what he was doing.
The charred corpse vanished into his spatial storage.
Without rest, Moon immediately pivoted back toward the main battle, his staff already gathering mana for his next spell.
Meanwhile, in the main battlefield formation, Kael looked around him, searching for Moon who was no longer present beside them in the formation. ‘That lightning flash…what is he doing?’ Kael thought in surprise, thinking that Moon was perhaps in trouble to warrant such an attack from him.
The lightning attack had clearly been stronger than other ones he’d used in the battle so far.
He turned towards Nina, “Did you see where he went?”
Nina had a grim expression on her face, almost irritated, “How would I know?! He simply vanished when I was fighting the beasts.
Damn it! Didn’t we agree not to break formation…?! I can’t leave this post unless his position is clear, I can’t risk Mina, and Reid’s siege by the beasts without knowing where he is.”
Kael looked at her before nodding, she was right, Moon had made a terrible mistake, one that he wouldn’t expect from someone like him, at all.
‘Is he looking for something…?! He isn’t stupid enough to leave formation without reason.’
Before they could go looking for him, Moon returned, using his various elements to get away from the beasts around him safely, and back into the formation.
“Where have you been?! You are not meant to leave the formation, you put the entire team in danger!” Nina shouted, looking at him with a visible frown on her face.
Moon looked at her for a moment, before nodding his head, “My bad, I got carried away for a moment.”
Nina looked at him before grunting, “Tsk.”
“It’s okay, don’t let this distract you all! Focus on the fight, their numbers is thinning down considerably, another five to ten minutes and we win!” Grant shouted from the front line, blocking beasts from entering their formation alongside Caleb.
The team quickly got back into rhythm, slaying all the beasts around them with ease. Despite that, a few team members were still upset with Moon.
