Chapter 261 S-Rank Gate Cleared! [1]
“Boss! The cameras we have installed near the S-Rank gate caught the emergence of the team assgined to the S-Rank gate!” One of the news agency workers excitedly said, looking at the scene of Moon leaving the gate.
His boss rushed to look at the screen, “What are you doing? Hurry up, broadcast it on all of our channels immediately. Also, zoom in on that boy that’s pulling everyone and give our news anchor their details!”
“Yes, sir!” The man began working immediately.
Within seconds, the image of Moon single-handedly bringing everyone out of the S-rank gate spread across the kingdom.
Back at the gate.
“Hurry! Get medical teams here NOW!” the lead Evolver cried in pure joy, rushing toward the group of survivors. “They succeeded! They actually did it! We’re not going to die!”
He looked down at the young man, he’d been dismissing as a “commoner” just moments before—as if Moon was his childhood hero.
“Get the best healers we have,” he commanded the other Evolvers. “This man just saved our lives. He just saved the entire city. Maybe the entire world.”
Around the world, in homes, offices and public spaces, people watched the impossible unfold on their screens.
The video of the portal slowly warping and distorting before it completely vanished became an instant global phenomenon, reaching the eyes of millions who had thought their homes and families were doomed. Relief, celebration, and disbelief flooded social media.
The name “Moon” began trending across every social media platform on the planet within minutes.
And in places of power—in the halls where decisions affected not just nations but multiple worlds—very important people began making very urgent phone calls about the gate and those that cleared it, and what the outcome meant for the future.
As Moon rested under the care of the medical teams, the other Evolvers began working to heal and awake his unconscious teammates. Eventually the entire group began stirring back to consciousness.
Kael was the first to wake, followed by Grant, then the others in quick succession. They looked around in confusion, oblivious to what had transpired after the fox’s death.
Looking at everything around them, they couldn’t quite believe that they had somehow completed the gate and survived.
The Evolvers quickly explained that Moon had single-handedly dragged all six of them out of the collapsing gate after whatever had transpired there.
The team looked at Moon with expressions of profound gratitude mixed with confusion.
Kael approached first, determined to understand. “Moon, what exactly happened in there after…? How did we get out?”
Moon sighed wearily, exhaustion weighing on every word. “You’ll find out everything in detail soon enough. Your father and other officials will probably want the full debriefing in a few minutes. Or maybe—”
He paused, looking up at the massive orbital ship that had appeared above their region, its shadow falling across the entire area.
“—maybe right now,” Moon finished with a wry smile.
Tom Glassy descended from hundreds of meters in the air as if he was immune to fall damage, landing on the ground like a feather, leaving no craters.
“Well done, all of you,” Tom grinned, his eyes sweeping across the survivors before settling on the exhausted Moon. “I always believed you could pull through that challenge, especially you, young man.”
Moon didn’t respond, too fatigued to engage in pleasantries.
Tom’s expression softened with understanding. “Let’s get you out of here before the reporters descend like vultures and ruin what should be a moment of peace. I’m sure you’ve all been through more than enough.
You wouldn’t want to get flashed now, would you?”
Without ceremony, Tom reached down and effortlessly picked up both Moon and Kael, lifting them like they were children despite both being full-grown bona-fide creme of the crop awakeners.
“As for the rest of you,” Tom addressed Grant, Nina, Mara, and Reid, “your respective families and representatives will be arriving within minutes. You can choose to go with them or wait for alternative transportation by the Association. Either way, you’ll be taken care of.”
The four remaining team members nodded their acknowledgment, still processing everything that had happened.
Tom then launched himself into the air with both young men, rising toward the orbital ship.
As they ascended, Moon caught glimpses of the crowds gathering below, the media vehicles racing toward the site, the celebration already beginning to build.

Inside Moon’s apartment, Selene and Yara had been glued to the television screen from the moment they’d returned from the S-Rank Gate, anxiously waiting for any news about any changes.
Selene’s expression carried deep grief and frustration. She had been unable to enter the gate with Moon despite wanting to be with him, to help him. Her power was certainly sufficient, stronger than most of those who had been selected for the mission or so she believed.
But one insurmountable issue had prevented her participation: her severed family ties.
Her brother Alaric was her only remaining support in this world, the one person whose influence could have secured her a spot on the team. But he would never, under any circumstances, allow her to enter such a catastrophically dangerous situation. His overprotective nature, born from their family’s complicated history, meant that even mentioning her desire to join would have resulted in his immediate interference.
So she’d been forced to watch helplessly as Moon entered the most dangerous gate in recorded history without her. Thankfully, the presence of Kael—an acquaintance of Moon—had reassured her that Moon wouldn’t be hurt by his own team under any circumstances, otherwise, Kael himself would also be hurt, something that very few would want to risk against the Glassy Group that now housed an Ascender.
Hours had passed with Selene and Yara consoling each other, clinging to hope that everything would turn out well. That somehow, just like always, Moon would defy impossible odds and find a way to survive what no one else could.
And he did.
The moment they saw Moon emerge from the portal, dragging six unconscious teammates behind him through sheer determination, both women leaped from the couch simultaneously. **
