SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will - Chapter 310 Survive.

Chapter 310 Survive.
[You have killed a level 35 Evolver]
[You have gained 1500 Lives]
[Inheritor of Flaws has partially activated]
Moon sighed deeply as his hands trembled from the aftereffects of channeling [Lightning Raiju] at nearly his entire mana capacity. The cost of victory had been severe.
“We did it! We actually killed him!” Yara exclaimed with excitement, staring at the motionless corpse of the Evolver sprawled on the debris-covered ground.
“Mm-hm,” Selene nodded, allowing a soft smile of relief to break across her face despite the exhaustion.
BOOM!
A sudden explosion echoed from the distance, immediately jolting the entire group from their momentary celebration. They had become so intensely focused on surviving their battle that they’d completely forgotten they remained in the middle of a warzone with dozens of similar threats still active.
“Yara, quickly! Take his bow and equipment for yourself—it’s decent quality Second Order gear,” Selene instructed urgently.
Yara nodded and rushed to the archer’s body. “Mine broke completely with those last two arrows. I pushed it beyond its absolute limits.”
She efficiently looted the corpse, claiming the bow, remaining arrows, and the specialized quiver designed for Second Order arrows.
Selene then turned toward Moon with obvious concern. “You should enter the sanctuary portal now, and we’ll be on our way to find a Second Order gate.”
Moon nodded in agreement. He wasn’t going to pretend he could provide meaningful assistance from this point forward—he would become more liability than asset to their team.
His mana reserves were nearly depleted, his body was weakened from the intense exertion, and his combat effectiveness was severely compromised. With Yara’s upgraded equipment, they would have better survival chances while searching for appropriate portal access.
Moon slowly approached the Evolver’s body before looking at Selene questioningly. “Can I take it?”
Selene nodded without hesitation. “Go ahead. Without your planning earlier, we would all be dead right now. It’s entirely yours.”
“Then I won’t be polite.”
Moon stored the Evolver’s corpse in his storage ring, then attempted to enter the sanctuary portal.
But as he approached the energy barrier, he was immediately repelled backward by an invisible force.
“What the—” Moon turned toward Selene in confusion.
His brows furrowed, noticing she was clearly suppressing a laughter. “Why are you laughing?”
“Pfft—sorry, I couldn’t help myself,” Selene finally broke into giggles. “You can’t enter the First Sanctuary while carrying an Evolver’s body, even if the Evolver is deceased. The system prevents it.”
“You… this really isn’t the time for jokes,” Moon said with mild exasperation.
Selene’s expression immediately sobered. “Sorry, you’re absolutely right. We need to get moving.”
She quickly stored both of the Evolver’s bodies that Moon had just taken out of his ring, then she grabbed Yara’s hand and began leading them away from the scene rapidly.
“I will give you the bodies back later!” She shouted, running.
Moon sighed with a subtle head shake before successfully entering the portal this time around.
As Selene ran with Yara beside her, she couldn’t stop thinking about the battle they’d just survived. From the very moment Moon had mentioned “winter’s death,” she had instantly understood he meant they should coordinate their elements—her water combined with his lightning.
She had followed his instructions to create concealing mist, then obeyed his guidance about targeting the building. Initially she hadn’t understood his reasoning, but somehow he had miraculously predicted exactly where the Evolver would position himself and how he would react to their initial attacks.
‘Such brilliance, such thinking… he’s absolutely incredible!’ she thought excitedly, her heart racing with admiration as butterflies danced in her stomach joyfully.
‘I was right about you…from the very beginning!’ She smiled.
“Selene, over there!” Yara shouted urgently, snapping Selene out of her brief doze off. Selene’s attention immediately refocused on their current situation.
“Let’s go,” she responded decisively.
The two women quickly moved toward the Second Sanctuary portal, which was easily identifiable by its distinctive triangular architecture and the powerful energy radiating from it. Unlike the circular First Sanctuary portals, Second Order gateways were triangular in shape and much more potent in energy.
As they approached the gate, Selene could see other awakeners and weaker Evolvers seeking refuge from the ongoing chaos on Earth. The portal represented safety and escape from the attacks that had turned the city into a battlefield.
The Awakeners stayed next to the Evolvers for indirect protection, and the Evolvers rushed to enter the gate to run away from the chaos unfolding.
There weren’t many Evolvers running away from battle, but they were certainly there.
“Stay close,” Selene instructed as they navigated through the crowd of people attempting to gain access. “With your new equipment, you should be able to handle Second Sanctuary threats much better, but you still need to be cautious in there.”
Yara nodded, adjusting her newly acquired bow and checking that her arrows were properly secured in the upgraded quiver. The Evolver’s equipment was significantly superior to her previous gear, which should improve her survival chances considerably. Together, they approached the portal entrance, ready to transition into the Second Sanctuary where they were much safer, away from the unprecedented crisis consuming Earth. The two women entered the Second Sanctuary portal without encountering significant resistance. The guards stationed at the facility were no longer able to effectively monitor or restrict access—there were simply too many people forcing their way through simultaneously during the crisis.
The overwhelmed security personnel could only watch the massive influx of Evolvers with troubled expressions, understanding that their normal protocols had become impossible to maintain under these extraordinary circumstances. They couldn’t abandon their posts to pursue unauthorized entries, nor could they physically stop the crowds seeking safety from the attacks ravaging their zone. As Selene and Yara passed through the gate, they gave each other a look of determination before teleporting to different places inside the Second Sanctuary.
“Survive.”
The environment around them instantly changed from the urban chaos they’d left behind to their respective region they were in.
Selene returned back to the same icy cave she had grown familiar with. ‘I need to become stronger…like my brother, like Moon.’
