- Chapter 419 Slaughterhouse, fearsome!

Weaponmaster amplified every blow, and the purple lightning coating his blade made each strike even the more fearsome.
The first man took a lightning-enhanced slash across his forearm. His fingers spasmed and the chain dropped from his grip. Moon took advantage of that, and lunged for the killing blow. Before he could land his attack, a flash of white light exploded in his face.
Moon’s vision went blank for a moment. ‘Blinding rune!’
His hand was already moving before the thought fully formed, pulling a shielding rune from his pocket and activating it.
An Evolver rushed towards him. Moon did not let him, sending a bolt of lightning towards him.
~BOOM~
The explosion tore through the space directly in front of Moon. The shielding rune absorbed the brunt of it, but the force still sent him skidding backward, his boots carving grooves into the stone. Heat washed over his face. Fragments of bone and armor peppered his shield before it shattered.
When his vision cleared, Moon saw what was left.
A man had been standing directly in front of him a second ago. Now there was only a crater. Pieces of what had once been a person were scattered across the floor in every direction.
Lukas stood thirty meters away, another rune already glowing between his fingers. Behind him, two more Evolvers with vacant eyes were stepping forward, their bodies wrapped in runes that pulsed with an ominous light.
Living bombs. Sent to die so that Moon would die with them.
“Suicide attackers.” Moon muttered, wiping the dust from his face. “Unpleasant.”
‘Let’s try out a purple lightning Raiju.’
He began to channel Thunderclap Raiju, but this time he fed the purple lightning into it. The familiar wolf shape started to form between his hands, the wolf’s eyes burned a deep violet, and the sound it emitted wasn’t a crackle anymore.
It was a low, thunderous rumble. Like distant thunder in the dark clouds.
Two First-Star Evolvers rushed him from the left, spells blazing. Moon sidestepped the first and ducked under the second without breaking his channel. Others continued their attempts of disruption, but they all failed.
The wolf was ready.
Moon locked eyes with the more dangerous of the two chained men. The one whose aura sat a fraction above the other. The one who had nearly locked him in the chains moments ago.
The purple Raiju leapt from his hands. A single, blinding streak of violet light that crossed the throne room so fast that the sound of its passage arrived after the impact.
‘It’s speed crossed the speed of sound!’ Moon watched in shock.
The chained man saw it coming. His reflexes were sharp enough to begin moving, his chain rising to intercept, his body twisting sideways.
It wasn’t enough.
The wolf struck him in the stomach.
Where his stomach had been, there was now nothing. A hole the size of a watermelon sat in the center of his torso, the edges cauterized black by the heat of the lightning. Through the gap, the stone wall behind him was visible.
The man looked down at himself. His mouth opened, but no sound came out. His chains slipped from his fingers and pooled on the floor.
He collapsed.
[You have gained 12,500 Lives]
The purple lightning chained to a few Evolvers near the chained man, killing two, and severely injuring several others. The second chained man managed to block the chain effect of the Raiju, but not without suffering a little backlash.
Layla’s irises quivered.
The chained men were her strongest assets. Her most prized subordinates. Evolvers she had spent months cultivating, feeding, and empowering until they reached the peak of First Star. They were her final wall, the last line between her throne and anyone foolish enough to challenge it.
And Moon had just put a hole through one of them like he was made of paper.
She couldn’t understand it. She had seen talented Evolvers before. She had broken talented Evolvers before. Talent was something she understood, something she could measure, predict, and ultimately control.
What Moon was doing went beyond talent.
A new Evolver. Someone who had barely spent a week in the Second Sanctuary. Fighting dozens of First Star Evolvers simultaneously and killing them with a power that kept growing even as the fight dragged on.
His aura had doubled mid-battle. ‘How?’
The question burned in Layla’s mind. She had faced powerful opponents before. She had schemed against people stronger than herself and won through manipulation, patience, and the slow erosion of their will. That was her strength. That was what had built everything she had on this island.
But none of that worked against someone who could simply overpower everything in the room.
For the first time, Layla began to consider the possibility that she might lose.
Moon stared at the man he had killed, something about him had changed, oddly. He couldn’t place a finger on it, but he seemed less…controlled.
Moon did not cast his second raiju immediately, the spell had been incredibly potent and powerful, using a large portion of his mana. Although his spiritual energy had doubled, and his stats had also increased, his consumption of his new power had also increased greatly. He needed to be resourceful to win.
‘I still have five minutes left…that should be enough .’ Moon thought, reducing the pace of his attacks, focusing on slow, steady attacks.

Moon’s lives doubled, returning the lives he spent to activated the skill.
‘Time to evolve the second skill.’ Moon thought as he dodged the countless attacks. His choice, a passive, support skill rather than an offensive one.
