SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy - Chapter 463 - 463: Hunters

“Where exactly are we headed to?” Lily asked as the spaceship cut through the air at neck-breaking speed. They all sat inside the ship, including Dawn and Snow.
After they returned that day, Silva told Dawn everything that happened, and the fact that each of them was now certified. The news made Dawn happy but also extremely sad.
Dawn was built to become a warrior; she wasn’t meant for babysitting and sitting around. Silva understood this fact, and he knew it was wrong for him to keep her inside like that for so long.
So he made her a promise that she would begin to grow her strength even more here and gather more experience, now that they were in a new world with logic different from what they knew. When the next examination came, she would participate.
He promised her that they wouldn’t leave the planet or the Lumis region until they got her exam over with. But for now, she was still a member of their team, and it meant that she would come along with them when they needed to carry out a quest.
“We are headed on a quest. I took the liberty of signing us up as a party in the Arcane Tower, and then I collected a mission. As a five-star Platinum, I was given a lot of respect. I guess the Arcane Council takes care of their assets,” Silva began speaking.
“Master, you have left the point. You were speaking of the quest you took,” Drake pulled his attention back to the quest.
“Oh, sorry, my bad. I got carried away,” he apologized. “Much like our rankings, the quests there are pretty much the same. The quest I chose is considered a one-star Platinum quest,” Silva said.
“If we are all five-star Platinum Hunters, why would we take a one-star quest?” Lily asked.
“The quest is generally harder than the rank you have, and that’s why they suggest not taking it on alone. And because this is the first quest we are taking on, they had to go a bit lower,” Silva explained.
“Regardless, the quest is a tough one, and we have to be watchful and careful. According to the information, on the other side of the planet, an entire island suddenly spawned a rift that’s letting Rift monsters in.
The monsters rank from rank three to peak rank four from what they gathered,” Silva explained.
“And how exactly do the rankings of these monsters work?” Drake asked.
“Rank one all the way to rank seven, and after that come the Awakened Rift monsters, then the King Rift monsters, then Calamity-grade monsters,” Silva said, and then clicked a button on the ship. A diagram holding all the information about the monsters from the rifts showed up.
“There are many forms of Rift monsters. Those insect-looking creatures you see are the most common. The factor used to know if it is a Rift monster is glowing scales, claws, or the body in general.
Because they are born in rifts, they carry a lot of energy that changes them and makes them glow. You can also know their ranking by the color of their glow. If you notice green glows, they are rank one, and a lighter green means rank two.
A red glow signifies rank three, blue for four, and purple for five and six. For seven, they have red and blue, and then after that, the Awakened, they all have a mix of red, purple, and black,” Silva explained as best as he could.
“Seems like you read a lot about them,” Dawn commented as she looked at the information on the screen in front of her.
“I had to be sure we knew what we needed to before landing on the island for the quest,” Silva said.
“So what exactly are we meant to do when we get there?” Lily asked.
“Wade through entire armies of Rift monsters and find the core of the rift, then destroy it. After that, we carry out a cleanup.
The rift is continuously growing, and if it isn’t closed down soon, it will get large enough to allow higher-ranked monsters through. The difficulty of the mission comes from their numbers,” Silva said.
“What exactly is the difference between these Rift monsters and the Abyssal monsters?” Drake asked.
“The Abyssal monsters come from the Abyss, the plane I use to summon my Abyssal monsters as well. The Abyss isn’t explored, and the Council, along with every other part of the cosmos, considers the Abyss a dangerous unknown place. The monsters from there are also massive issues, like the Rift monsters,” Silva explained.
“So what if the Council discovers your Abyssal monsters?” Dawn asked.
“Good question,” Lily said.
“We don’t need to worry about that for now. It’s not like I go around using my Abyssal army all the time,” Silva replied. “Also, the entire Arcane Council can focus on us for a bit, but I doubt they’ll put that much attention on us. They’ll get tired.”
The ship cut through the atmosphere, lifting high above the clouds, but then suddenly, the ship dipped sharply.
“What’s happening?” Drake asked.
“We are going over a region of flying creatures. They can damage the ship’s hull. We’ll fly low here, then cross the Black Sea and make it to the island,” Silva said.
They flew low for a few minutes and then arrived at the sea, and just like the name, it was as black as night. They looked at it through the front of the ship; it spread out as far as their eyes could see.
“Entering this water would be deadly, even for us,” Silva said. He tapped the screen and sent an image to their displays. It looked as if a massive shark and a crocodile had a baby and then it got mutated into a gigantic monster.
“This is what’s inside the water?” Lily asked.
“Yup, and they have a bite force enough to kill a demigod,” Silva replied.
