Chapter 248: SS-Tier Monopoly!
Lucy’s brows knitted as she pushed further.
“Move ten meters forward, circle the table once, avoid touching any furniture, then come back and stand beside Bruce.”
The Shadow Wolf rose, executed the command perfectly, its path clean, deliberate, and efficient, before returning to Bruce’s side and standing still once more.
Lucy stared.
She gave more commands. Increasingly complex ones. Instructions layered with conditions, distances, sequences, pauses.
The Shadow Wolf followed every single one… Effortlessly…
It was as if the beast had been trained for years, not just to recognize keywords, but to understand intent. Not just commands, but meaning. Strings of words processed instantly, without confusion or delay.
Lucy slowly lowered her hand, amazement filling her eyes as the truth settled into her bones. This wasn’t just a transport beast. It wasn’t even just a military asset. It was an entire future standing quietly before her.
Her gaze burned with glee as realization after realization crashed into her mind, each one more staggering than the last. If what Bruce said was true, if even half of it was true, then not only could she raise the family business into the number one diversified transport company in the entire Valkrin Kingdom…
She could dominate all of Velmora. Her heart pounded as she looked back at him, excitement barely contained, her voice carefully measured as if the wrong answer might shatter the moment.
“So…” she asked, “how many do you have?”
Bruce didn’t hesitate. “At least a thousand of these SS Shadow Wolves. If you need more, I can give you more.” He said it calmly, far too calmly.
Lucy froze. Her gaze shifted instinctively from the Shadow Wolf to Sophie, then back to Bruce again.
She exhaled slowly and pressed her fingers to her temple, grounding herself as her mind raced to keep up.
“If that’s the case…” she murmured, business instincts roaring to life, “…then these beasts won’t be limited to transportation alone.”
Her eyes sharpened as possibilities unfolded in rapid succession. “Dungeon mount rentals. Protection contracts. Escort services. Beast rentals as auxiliary helpers in dungeon raids.”
She straightened, decision crystallizing in an instant. “Bruce, let’s go to the headquarters. The day is still early, and with how busy you always are, it’s best we finish all the documentation today.”
Bruce nodded without argument. “There are different sizes of the Shadow Wolves,” he added. “We can ride them there.”
Lucy paused, then smiled. The image was already forming in her mind. People watching SS-ranked beasts glide through the city streets, their forms radiating power and elegance, would definitely get curious.
“I’m on it,” she said immediately, her smile deepening as something sharp and clever flickered behind her eyes. “That suggestion even gave me an idea.”
Bruce frowned slightly. “What idea?”
“What better way to advertise than using the biggest platform in all of Valkrin?” she replied smoothly.
“The biggest platform?” Bruce echoed, blinking.
“V-Net,” Lucy said, confidence radiating from her.
Bruce’s brows furrowed. “Has it risen to that level already? In such a short period of time? Even rivaling long-established platforms to become Valkrin’s largest?”
Sophie, who had been quietly observing the exchange, finally spoke. “Yes,” she said calmly.
“Your mother is right. It’s become the number one platform in just a few days. With the Thorne family backing it, and their marketing strategy tied directly to the smart bracelet, it’s unprecedented. But also… expected.”
Lucy nodded. “Indeed. Speaking of marketing strategies, I still have a lot to learn from the Thorne family. Hopefully I can reach their level someday, though it’ll be difficult, managing everything alone.”
Bruce smiled faintly. “Don’t worry. I believe in you. You have my full support.”
Warmth flashed through Lucy’s eyes, but it vanished just as quickly as she slipped back into work mode. Her mind was already moving at full speed.
“I’ll announce on V-Net that Ackerman Transport now possesses SS-ranked Shadow Wolves available for high-tier transportation,” she said, fingers subtly moving as if organizing posts that didn’t yet exist. “Then I’ll expand into protection services, dungeon assistance rentals, and elite escort contracts.” Her gaze returned to the Shadow Wolf, appreciation clear. “I’ll upload high-quality images, different angles, different lighting. Let their domineering frames speak for themselves.” Her smile sharpened. “And for the final bait…”
She looked directly at Bruce. “I’ll upload a video of a Shadow Wolf streaking out of your shadow and forming beside you.” Bruce stiffened slightly, but Lucy continued smoothly.
“Then I’ll drop the location of Ackerman Transport’s main base.” She exhaled, satisfied. “With that, the entire kingdom will be shocked. Intrigued. Curious. Inquiries will flood in, we won’t even need to chase clients.”
There was one question burning in her mind, how Bruce had obtained such a massive number of flawless SS-ranked beasts, how he’d made them so obedient, so intelligent, but she didn’t ask. And Bruce didn’t offer an explanation. Not because he wanted to keep secrets. He simply didn’t feel like explaining.
And for once… Lucy didn’t push. Instead, she moved. She didn’t waste a single second.
Lucy tapped her smart bracelet, her fingers moving with practiced ease. A soft chime sounded as a holographic screen blossomed outward from her wrist, layers of translucent light stacking neatly in the air. Bruce noticed it immediately, she was far more familiar with the interface now than she had been before. During the time he was away, she’d clearly adapted, she was using the smart bracelet so expertly as if she had been using it for years…
It was then he saw something new.
A camera icon.
Lucy paused briefly, adjusted a few settings, then tapped it.
The holographic screen shifted instantly, projecting a clear, crisp visual feed of the Shadow Wolf, captured directly from the angle her wrist was pointed at.
She took the first shot.
Then another.
Then she began giving the wolf commands.
“Turn.”
The beast shifted.
“Step forward. Lower your stance.”
Its posture changed smoothly, muscles tightening, frame becoming even more domineering.
She snapped it, instantly photographing that stance…
