Chapter 1208: 15 sheets
Time City Police Station’s argument was unknown to Li Ang.
The sound in his ear grew closer, and in his field of vision, he could clearly see all the enemies.
Downstairs and upstairs, people were rushing to the floor he was on. In fact, some had already climbed through the windows on either side of his floor;
Outside, the armed hover cars were in position. He had no doubt that if necessary, they could storm into his room with vehicle-mounted cannons and tactical missiles.
After a brief thought, he drew the [Night Falcon] from the inside of his trench coat, tightly locking onto a target that had climbed through the window from the corridor outside the door.
“First take out a few, draw all the attention, then escape through the modified ventilation shaft…”
He thought to himself.
The blue glow at the tail of [Night Falcon] became brighter, with a mysterious array faintly flashing in the blue light. After a brief charge, this precision rifle completed its highest level of energy accumulation, yet he held it without firing.
This [Night Falcon] was a weapon Li Ang had spent a long time modifying, capable of firing energy beams with powerful penetration. But however strong it was, it couldn’t penetrate many walls.
He was waiting for the opponent to reach a certain angle.
Soon, he got what he was waiting for.
Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger.
A roughly two-finger thick blue beam suddenly appeared, diagonally piercing through the side wall of Li Ang’s room, entering the room next door, and then penetrating the front wall of the adjacent room, hitting the head of the Divine Bird security personnel cautiously advancing.
His two teammates watched helplessly as the blue light pierced through their comrade’s head, shattering it.
They were all well-trained security personnel, directly under the Divine Bird Group, and reacted swiftly.
One raised his left hand, red celestial text lit up, and a fiery bird leaped out, blowing up the wall from which the beam came; the other had already raised his gun and fired sprays as the wall collapsed and the explosive dust had not yet dissipated.
But his sprays targeted an empty room.
Inside the room, holding his rifle, Li Ang had a cold expression. He calmly switched targets, charged, and pulled the trigger.
The second beam arrived, killing the one who broke through the wall.
Then came the third shot.
An entire elite squad was wiped out just like that.
Upon hearing the sound of the battle, other members of the Divine Bird Security Department headed towards the 63rd floor from upstairs and downstairs, hastening their pace under the command of their respective captains; the drivers of the armed hover cars hovering outside the building also received orders to open fire.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Li Ang swiftly turned the gun, the trench coat hem gracefully fluttering with his movement.
He fired an energy-charged shot out of the window.
A hover car preparing to launch missiles had its front bulletproof glass pierced, killing the driver instantly. The entire hover car spun out of control, crashing from the sky.
Yet, three other hover cars launched tactical missiles.
This was also within Li Ang’s expectations.
After firing this shot, he quickly got moving, heading toward the southeast corner of the room.
In the room’s corner, two floor tiles automatically flipped, revealing a downward passage.
Li Ang jumped in.
He entered a narrow passage, the building’s ventilation shaft. His body tightly curled, yet his clothes turned incredibly smooth, allowing quick sliding inside the shaft.
Moments later, three missiles slammed into his room, exploding and destroying everything inside, including collapsing the floor and ceiling.
Li Ang, swiftly escaping down the ventilation shaft, dodged a disaster.
He silently counted seconds in his mind, around the fourth second, a feather-shaped white light illuminated beneath his feet, drastically reducing his sliding speed.
The next instant, he burst through the ventilation shaft exit’s grille, landing on the ground unscathed.
This was the 30th floor of Guardian Tower Building D302, a mid-level platform. This level had no residents, more like a plaza with various shops and restaurants to meet the needs of tens of thousands of densely populated residents in the building.
It was like a bustling market, perhaps not upscale, given that the residents of this building weren’t particularly wealthy.
But it was certainly lively.
Usually, people bustled. They ate cheap synthetic grilled meat, fried snacks, some pastries, pairing them with cheap alcoholic drinks, bragging and chatting; anyone could join the boxing ring, small underground matches were held with not high skill levels but maximum bloodiness, deaths were common, and people could bet around the ring; regular small commodities were sold, along with some banned ’small merchandise’…
The customers weren’t only from this building, people from the neighboring buildings would cross the bridges between the buildings to come here as well.
But now, it was empty. The hurried evacuation was evident with many late-night cooking stalls still steaming, making the whole place look chaotic.
Guardian Tower was an area for civilian residence, not exactly a place with great safety. People were mixed, conflicts frequent, even gangs were mingling. Quickly evacuating people here and getting their cooperation wasn’t simple.
The empty platform market made Li Ang uneasy.
Just now in the ventilation shaft, the loud explosions made him feel a bit dizzy. He traced a spell with his fingers, a phantom-like stream poured over him.
