Chapter 595 Awakening of the Demonic Sword
Changmin with his near-unlimited mana used his psychokenetic abilities to form a shield of ice before him.
Alaric’s sword struck the ice shield, breaking it apart and heading straight for Changmin’s chest.
How?!
Changmin was taken by surprise. He didn’t expect Alaric to be this powerful for someone who had just stepped into the realm of the Venerables.
He hastily lifted his sword to block Alaric’s attack.
Clang!
He somehow managed to block Alaric’s sword, but the force behind his attack sent Changmin flying into the air.
He slammed heavily into the frozen wall and fell to the ground with a ‘thud’.
Changmin gritted his teeth as he picked himself up. His arms were trembling and he could hardly grip his sword.
He looked at the young Venerable who was approaching him like a ghost and immediately felt a wave of fear.
I can’t beat him! His swordsmanship is unusually powerful!
When their swords clashed, he sensed the huge disparity in their skills. He thought that he had already mastered the sword, but Alaric’s swordsmanship was on another level.
Whoosh! Alaric suddenly appeared in front of him and delivered another slash.
Gritting his teeth, Changmin pushed himself to the limits. He exerted his full power to deflect Alaric’s sword. He also used his psychokenetic powers to bombard Alaric with shards of ice.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
It’s time!
Alaric finally felt the destruction domain reacting with his mana. With another mighty slash, he summoned the void.
What is this?! Changmin was stunned.
The surrounding was suddenly covered in rifts, like small doors leading to the underworld.
In his panic, he failed to discover that one of these rifts was just right behind him. When he took a step back, he felt a sharp pain in his leg.
He looked down as soon as the pain registered, and to his horror, he saw that one of his legs was missing.
How?!
“Don’t touch those rifts, you idiot!” Rin Aspen’s voice drifted into his ears, pulling back his senses.
The rifts?! He looked around, trying to search for an escape route, but Alaric didn’t give him any chance.
“Where do you think you’re going?!” A cold voice echoed behind Changmin.
Shit!
Changmin quickly turned around and instinctively swung his sword.
Whoosh!
With a snort, Alaric calmly evaded the flimsy slash and swung his short sword.
Khshk!
His sword cut into Changmin’s chest, tearing off a huge chunk of his flesh.
“Argh!”
Changmin channeled his mana and guided them to stop his bleeding.
The attack left him with a serious wound that almost cut off his control of the mana domain.
If my mana domain collapses, that would be the end of me. Miraculously, the wounds on his chest had stopped bleeding, but this was only temporary. He was continuously draining mana to close up his wounds and it was taking a huge toll on his mind.
Alaric looked at his opponent and said.
“You are quite resilient. I’ll give you that, but we both know how this would end.”
He walked forward, calmly approaching Changmin.
“Stop resisting and I will give you a quick death.”
Hearing this, Changmin glared at him with a dagger-like gaze.
He turned his head to Din Aspen who was battling with the draconic lion and shouted. “Lord Rin! Take my blood! That should be enough to awaken the demonic sword’s power!”
Demonic sword?
Alaric was bewildered, but then he suddenly recalled something.
Hold on… Now I remember it! It’s the sword with a Nascent Soul!
When he visited the duchess’s mansion, she showed him a unique sword that carried an embryonic soul. It was a sword that was left unused because of its detrimental effects on the wielder.
“You took the sword?!” Alaric looked at the sword in Rin Aspen’s hand. He was so focused on stopping them that he didn’t notice it right away.
Now he was finally sure. This was the same sword he saw at the duchess’s mansion!
Rin Aspen shook off the draconic lion’s pursuit and dashed off to Changmin’s side.
“Do it! They will be here soon.” Changmin nodded to Rin Aspen, his eyes filled with resolve.
Rin Aspen no longer hesitated. He lifted the demonic sword and stabbed it into Changmin’s heart.
Khshk!
“Your sacrifice will not be in vain, my stupid friend.” Rin Aspen muttered, his eyes were slowly turning red as the demonic sword’s evil aura began to corrode his mind.
He had already killed numerous people and fed their blood to the demonic sword, but he still maintained his sanity because of his strong willpower.
However, Changmin carried the blood of a Venerable, and his strong vitality was directly absorbed by the demonic sword.
The evil aura emanating from the sword became even more intense. It was so strong that one could feel it by just looking at the blood-red sword.
“Alaric! Are you alright?!”
The empress finally arrived with the Crimson Phoenix Knights Order.
Yskaela locked her eyes on Rin Aspen and was stunned by the aura he was exuding.
This evil aura… Could it be that sword?
When she realized what was happening, the empress’s face darkened.
The demonic sword owned by House Park was a symbol of tragedy. She remembered how many warriors were killed just to quell the chaos brought upon by the last wielder of the sword.
Thinking about this, she waved her hand and shouted. “Everyone except the Venerables, leave this place at once!”
“It’s too late for that!” Rin Aspen’s evil laughter resounded across the alleyway.
Just as the Crimson Phoenix Knights Order was about to leave, an overwhelming pressure descended upon them, stopping them in place!
“It’s the Blood Domain! Protect them! Don’t let Rin Aspen accumulate more blood!” The empress commanded when she noticed the pulsating red patterns gradually forming around them.
Hearing her words, Bai Seol-hwa and Kangjeon Geum-hwa rushed to block Rin Aspen’s path.
Rin Aspen grinned at them, his blood-red eyes filled with amusement.
“You just delivered the finest meals for my sword!”
