Strongest Hammer God - Chapter 497 New Ether

Kyle wasn’t entirely sure how he should feel about seeing Selene with a child.
There was definitely some attraction between them, but they had never really done anything with it.
Kyle had been pretty busy with his own stuff, and Selene had been busy hiding from the potential assassins when her Aristocrat’s Body had been unveiled.
When she had told him that the Skysand Kingdom was done, there had still been some attraction between them, but Kyle had to get going.
They had never made any promises to each other.
They had never said that they would wait for each other or something.
They were just friends.
And, well, even if Selene had wanted to wait, it had been several years since Kyle had vanished.
Kyle had come to this place to see how Selene was doing and to check if she was still available.
Apparently, she was no longer available.
‘Yeah, well, whatcha gonna do?’ Kyle thought with a shrug. ‘Can’t have them all. At least, that gives me more time to train.’
The atmosphere between Selene and Kyle was a bit awkward since they just looked at each other.
“Anyway,” Kyle said after a bit. “I just wanted to check up on all of you and tell you about the good news. I gotta get back to training.”
The Chief nodded without saying anything, but Kyle could see respect in his eyes.
Selene just sighed. “Thank you for telling us,” she said. “I’m glad that we can join civilization again.”
“No problem,” Kyle said. “That’s what friends are for, right? Anyway, gotta go. Bye!”
The next moment, Kyle shot into the distance again, leaving the others behind.
Kyle flew towards the peninsula and stopped above the huge hole he, or the birds, had dug where Theodor’s Inheritance Crypt used to be.
Since he could go wherever he wanted, he wanted to train in a familiar location.
Yet, when he saw the huge group of people running an organized mining operation near his old place, he sighed.
‘Yeah, well, the Skysand Kingdom collapsed. Would make sense that this now belongs to somebody else.’
In the end, Kyle decided not to forcefully take back his territory and went back to the Twilight Duchy.
He stopped near the eastern World Wall and decided to spend the next years of training here.
‘Alright, time to focus. No idea how long it will take, but now is the time to work on my Law of the Meteor.’
Kyle remembered when he had come up with the idea.
Back then, he hadn’t even created Methods yet. He had been so weak that the powers of a meteorite were far beyond him.
Now, a meteorite seemed to be just appropriate in power.
‘According to Sebastian, meteorites move at speeds of something like ten to fifty kilometers per second. I can boost my speed to a bit more than 15 kps for a short moment, which puts me near the lower end of a meteorite.’
‘Seems just right.’
Kyle thought about the three Laws he had comprehended.
The Law of Fire, the Law of Wind, and the Law of Metal.
‘Power, speed, and mass. Exactly what I want.’
Kyle thought about how he could combine the three Laws, and he quickly ran into a couple of issues.
He could combine all of them, which wasn’t difficult.
After all, he just needed to use his Wind Element to move a piece of metal, which would automatically create fire.
That was already what meteors or meteorites were.
But that couldn’t just be it, right?
There had to be more to it.
Yet, what else was there?
This was everything a meteorite was.
It was a massive, often metallic, object that started to burn in the atmosphere and exploded when it hit the ground. The explosion occurred because all the kinetic force was converted into heat.
‘I can already do all of that. That’s what I’ve been doing with my Methods.’
‘What else is there?’
Kyle tried to come up with ways to combine the aspects in a way that was somehow deeper or stronger.
But how?
What was he supposed to do?
Learning a Pure Law wasn’t hard. He just needed to look at it and find out how it worked.
But this was just… blindly guessing?
‘Brah, what the fuck am I supposed to do? What makes a Complex Law different from a Method, Spell, or technique?’
‘A meteorite’s properties are mass, speed, and energy. That’s the three parts.’
‘I mean, technically, all three things are energy, but- wait a second!’
‘Everything is energy, right? Mass is energy. Speed is energy. Heat is energy.’
‘By using my three Laws, I am essentially adding different kinds of energy to each other.’
‘What if I could just directly make a kind of energy that encompasses all three?’
‘I know it sounds fucking batshit, but this is fantasy land! Everything works with Ether.’
‘Wind Ether can create speed. Fire Ether can make heat. Metal Ether can make metal. I’m using can in all of these sentences because they can also make other stuff.’
‘What makes wind wind and fire fire? Both are just Ether, but they are also different from each other. ‘
‘The thing that makes them different is the kind of Ether they use.’
‘By using my Methods, I am using Wind Ether, Fire Ether, and Metal Ether.’
‘But that’s not what a meteorite should be.’
‘Pretty sure it’s supposed to be its own thing.’
‘So, Meteor or Meteorite Ether?’
‘I mean, possible, I guess?’
‘Also, I should finally decide on a name. Is it meteor or meteorite? I don’t even know the difference. Isn’t that the same thing?’
‘Well, who cares? I’m just going to call it Meteor Ether. Meteorite sounds smaller, and I like big things!’
‘I don’t care if I’m wrong! It’s going to be Meteor Ether because it sounds cooler!’
‘So, if I’m right with my suspicion, I need to create Meteor Ether to comprehend the Law of Meteor.’
Kyle summoned the three different kinds of Ether he had access to and looked at them.
As the three balls spun around each other, Kyle scratched the back of his head.
‘Just gotta make an entirely new kind of energy.’
‘Can’t be too hard, right?’ he thought, not believing his own words.
