Chapter 134: Voracious Spirit Dominance
Primary Nature–Voracious Spirit Dominance!
Consume a Spirit Pool, and it is yours. Consume a Pranic Beast, and you’ll obtain a Spirit Pool based on the Spirit Container’s interaction with the blood in the Pranic Beast body, which in essence, was its Primary Nature, if it had sufficient compatibility with Mystic Mist Art.
And in his past, at the time he obtained this ability, the thing Raurau consumed was the blood of the Empyrean Snapper. As a result, he obtained the power of an Empyrean Snapper Spirit Pool, whose effect was as follows…
Subtle Terrain Domination!
Kneeling before Runthral, Raurau double checked to ensure the other party was perfectly fine, “How are you feeling?”
“I am okay.” Runthral nodded, and then eyed at the space behind Raurau in confusion, “But father…why? Why…”
“Why do I feel the power of Subtle Terrain Domination from you?”
“That’s because I am a traitor of the Cooter Clan to the highest degree.” Raurau smiled wryly as the Millinger’s body behind him began to get crushed bit by bit.
KRRROAKKK!
Prana continued to surge through its body, rapidly healing its form as it kept launching its artillery strike without stopping. The number of spikes increased from 400 to 800…to 2000 and kept increasing.
’It’s working!’ It shrilled mentally upon seeing the spikes begin to tremble faintly, showing the other party was clearly approaching his limit, ’A few more strikes, and I’ll break free of his hold!’
“Please…close your eyes.” Raurau pleaded Runthral once, and then sighed upon realising it was already too late, “I can’t afford to keep it hidden any longer.”
“This guy…” He turned around to glare at the Millinger, “Seems to have an inexhaustible reserve of power.”
Secondary Nature–Spirit Snapper!
This Nature shaped the Spirit Weapon range of the Cooter Clansman to the same shape and size as an Empyrean Snapper. This meant, the space around Raurau, bearing the same volume as a mature Empyrean Snapper, was his Spirit Range.
Considering just the neck of an Empyrean Snapper could stretch for a length of 10 kilometres, his reach alone reached 10 kilometres. But that wasn’t all.
This range had the same physical properties as the Empyrean Snapper, like how the neck could elongate to its maximum length in a flash from a retracted position.
In that fashion, the head of the Spirit Snapper moved like a flash, bearing a body of air, thanks to the effects of Subtle Terrain Domination, and clamped upon the Millinger.
The mouth quickly turned solid, for Raurau filled it with the Dralh Sea’s bedrock. Using its weight and material density, it clamped harder upon the Millinger and crushed it flat.
GRAHHH!
Even though it got crushed, the Millinger seemed to be regenerating nonstop. Its Inhibition Dome, though unable to overpower his Spirit Snapper, was constantly trying to dissipate it.
’It’s not dying?’ Raurau frowned and switched his mode of attack. ’Take over!’
Tertiary Nature–Astral Pool!
It allowed Raurau to cultivate a total of three Spirit Pools. Of course, each Spirit Pool had to be built up simultaneously, just like the rest of the Cooter Clansmen. And it had to be in sync. Otherwise, it would shatter his Spirit Container.
They also had to be at the same level, otherwise the sheer pressure from the stronger Spirit Pool would overwhelm and destroy the weaker Spirit Pool.
There was a mild change in his behaviour as Raurau eyed the Millinger in interest. And then, the Spirit Snapper clamping upon the other party shone a blinding blue.
Lightning Plasma Spirit Pool!
The Millinger’s smashed body was rapidly vaporised, leaving nothing behind. But there was one object that revealed itself following the Millinger’s death.
It was a Quill, unleashing a metre tall pillar of light. The pillar stretched a metre above it and a metre below it, and seemed to serve as a stand, which was how the Quill stood at a metre in height.
Of course, since it was within the head of the Spirit Snapper, it meant it was in contact with Raurau’s body. Meaning, it could merge into his body.
“Cut it off!” Torq shouted the moment the Millinger’s body vaporized. Raurau seemed to react on time, feeling nervous vine extensions spread across his Spirit Snapper from the head and approach his body, in the blink of an eye.
Right before it could touch his body, Raurau cut off Spirit Snapper’s neck and raised a wall of earth between the two.
As for the severed Spirit Snapper neck, it behaved like a serpent and lashed around the wall of earth. That short exchange meant it couldn’t target Raurau, and even if it were to succeed, one Quill most definitely wasn’t enough to take over his mind.
Its possible targets now were Torq and Runthral. Without hesitation, it targeted the easiest choice, Runthral. After all, even if it were to enter Torq, it wasn’t confident in being able to do anything.
And worse comes to worst, the other party will just regress the timeline. The goal was to first harm his mind enough that he wouldn’t endure another regression.
As the severed neck of the Spirit Snapper, like a released arrow, lunged towards Runthral, walls of earth appeared as obstacles.
It crashed through them at the cost of weakening the severed neck, rapidly consuming through it as it breached through all the defences.
And right as it had neared Runthral, a needle appeared between the two, poised exactly before the Quill. Torq managed to use its desperation against itself.
If it were to proceed forward, the Quill would come into contact with the needle and be significantly damaged, enough for Raurau to put an end to it. And in case it uses the Spirit Snapper’s severed neck as bait, the momentum alone would push the needle right towards Runthral.
Either it would be severely damaged or its target, Runthral, would die. Those were the two choices Torq had presented to it.
It was a solid plan, unleashed in a split second. The Quill simply had the means recorded in it that could otherwise change the outcome.
The pillar of light it generated was controlling the severed neck of the Spirit Snapper. And for a moment, it overloaded the other party with power, to the extent it caused an explosion.
And with how it overloaded the severed neck, the explosion struck it in an angle, which allowed it to be sent flying diagonally, barely missing the needle as it made contact with Runthral’s thigh.
Originally, it had aimed for the heart, but now, it entered the thigh. It didn’t matter, as at the end of the day, physical contact was enough as the Quill fused with the other party.
“Oh…shit!” Runthral gasped for a moment as his eyes darted towards Raurau who despaired in response, “I’m sorry, Father.”
“Your son is useless.” And then, his strength began to rapidly climb up.
