Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1197: Acquiring Space Element

Chapter 1197: Acquiring Space Element
“Do you still sense them?” Nathan asked.
Fenrir, who was hovering around his shoulder, replied, “No.”
“Can you still use your senses in that state?”
“Yes. My senses remain the same. The only difference is in the way I utilize my power. Anything else is the same.”
“I see.”
“What are we going to do, Master?” Mae asked.
“Give me the map.”
Mae waved her hand, projecting the map with her illusion. “We are here.”
Nathan examined the map carefully. “Our next destination is the empire, specifically Team Academics. We will regroup and prepare everything that Neyeid requires for the cloud-repelling devices.
“It’s clear that this attack is unusual, so we don’t have a lot of time.”
“Master. I’ve been thinking about it. You use the space element a lot. While it’s true that you often use the absolute ice element from time to time, the number of times you use the space element far surpasses that.
“Why not just find an elite class core and have a space element? This way, you will have control over space and time.”
“Still, won’t it cause trouble like Evelyn’s situation?” Nathan shook his head helplessly.
“Not necessarily. I’m talking about the concept Kun and Peng utilize.”
“Hmm?” Nathan raised his head. Kun and Peng utilized a unique concept. By switching them together with their form, the water and wind elements wouldn’t go against each other.
Instead, Nathan could switch the affinity depending on his need.
“If you are using that concept, when you pick the space element as your main element, you can utilize 50% of your time element and vice versa.
“Evelyn is unable to do this because she gets her element from the lifebound contract. However, your element is different. You are using the contract as the anchor point for your element. As a result, two or even more contracts are able to reside within your body.
“Of course, having more elements will decrease your growth speed, especially since you already have a lot of things in your possession already. Time element, control of the battlefield, bullets, and so on.
“But if you pair up your space element with the time element, I think it will create a good combination.”
Nathan could understand the reasoning. In Evelyn’s case, the two elements were releasing their own power at the same time, which caused the conflict.
Meanwhile, Kun and Peng isolated each other’s element with their own existence. Of course, their elements would still be releasing energy, but because of that isolation, only a portion leaked out. The leaked-out portion was just a remnant of its original power. As a result, the main element could take control of it.
Evelyn couldn’t do it because her element came from the lifebound contract, which meant that element went through the summoning link. Unless she sealed the summoning link itself, it was impossible to unleash it.
On the other hand, Nathan could create the element core with a contract and isolate it with another contract.
Space and time are interlinked with each other, so it wouldn’t be bad if Nathan possessed a space element core. However, this also meant taking more time to develop his space element.
There was one method that could bypass that limitation. It was to ask Evelyn to teach him everything about the space element. Of course, he would need to use her magic circle and everything she had built beforehand.
It was the same as copying her life’s achievements. If someone did this to him, he didn’t know how he would react.
“For now, I will consider your suggestion.” Nathan waved his hand. “It’s better for us to focus on the manuals first.”
“Understood.” Mae nodded.
Nathan pointed to several places on the map. “I don’t know whether we’re being chased by the enemy or not.
“Right now, it’s best to use the crowd as a way to stop their attack.”
“Won’t that backfire quickly? They’re people who love to spill blood.” Mae furrowed her eyebrows.
“They are, but right now, that’s not their priority. The moment they destroy a city, the dynasty or the empire will unleash everything they have at them.
“Right now, they must be aiming for something, so they will be low key for the time being. If not, they would have destroyed the village right away instead of only directing their familiars.”
“I see.” Mae understood Nathan’s plan. “In that case, I will be using my illusion to mask your presence.”
“Should I stay with you in the gun form? Just carry me around in your pocket or something. This way, I can sense everything around you.”
Nathan pondered for a moment before shaking his head. “No, I will rely on Jinwu as usual. No one other than the emperor and all the people we meet in the imperial palace knows that I have Jinwu, so it’s best to confirm their information.
“If they recognize Jinwu, I will create a contract for teleportation ability and escape right away.”
“In that case, I will stay for now. You can use my ability to run to your destination.”
“Thanks.” Nathan had finished creating his route. “This will be our route. We will sneak into the empire and regroup with Team Academics.”
“Understood.”
Nathan suddenly got a request from the communication ring. Evelyn’s voice came through. “Nathan. Are you there?”
“Yep, I’m fine right now.”
“I have asked Johnson, but he doesn’t know anything about the communication ring. It might be just a coincidence that the enemy is turning back. However, they might be regrouping right now.”
“I see. Still, there’s no change in our plans. We will lie low and master the manuals. Gather as much information as possible when you’re there.”
“Will you be alright? From the looks of it, they might target you.”
“Running away alone shouldn’t be a big problem for me. Besides, I have divine beasts with me. Sensing danger is their specialty, so I should be able to get out just fine.”
“Fine.”
“Also, I have a request…”
“What is it?”
Nathan hesitated. Could he really ask her to teach him about space magic?
“Never mind. I will ask about it when we meet again.”
“…”
