Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1516: Panicked

Chapter 1516: Panicked
“!!!” The alien was surprised when his power couldn’t do anything to Sullivan’s sword. What kind of sword did he swing?
The alien jumped back again and let out a cry.
Multiple spikes emerged to kill him, but Sullivan simply swung his blade horizontally and cut all of them down.
Knowing that Sullivan was stronger than it’d expected, the alien approached the battle in another way.
He sent endless spikes toward him to exhaust his blade or arms. There was no way Sullivan could continuously swing his arms without stopping.
However, Sullivan went one step further. Not only did he strike down the spikes that were coming at him, but he also kept advancing. His blade even sent forth an energy strike that would make zigzag movements to avoid the spikes and make its way toward the alien.
“!!!” The alien was forced to block the ena strike. It wasn’t too powerful, but it was something that even the alien had to focus on.
No matter how many spikes the alien sent, Sullivan would cut them down.
Cry!
The alien let out a loud cry, causing other aliens to come to them.
Sullivan’s focus didn’t wane. He believed that his granddaughter and her teammates would be able to deal with those aliens.
So, he kept creeping in, which forced the alien to use its power in another way. It turned its arms into spikes and clashed with Sullivan’s blade.
As expected, Sullivan would shatter those spikes, but the alien’s aim was not him. Once those spikes shattered, the pieces would then fly to Noelle and the girls.
“!!!” It was Sullivan’s turn to be surprised. He hurriedly looped around and sent forth a sword strike to take them down, but the alien took this opportunity to hit him from behind.
Sullivan skillfully positioned his sword to block the alien’s attack, but it was a forced movement. In other words, he had to force his muscles to move in a different direction, causing a messy flow in his energy.
As a result, the alien’s attack actually pushed him back and grazed his back.
Sullivan’s eyes turned bloodshot as he was thoroughly angered by the alien because it was aiming for his family.
Sullivan spun his body and used that momentum to swing his blade.
The alien, now having momentum, jumped to avoid the blade that ended up extending wide and cutting down a few hundred trees in a half-circle shape.
The alien slammed both hands down from above. Sullivan switched his stance again, but the ground underneath him ended up turning into a massive crater as Sullivan dropped to one knee.
Then, multiple spikes formed, taking advantage of the crater’s shape to create a dome to isolate him.
There was nowhere for him to run this time.
Sullivan smiled. His sword was meant to protect, not to run. If he ran, the person he swore to protect would die.
“Flamante Sword Style, Severing Destiny!”
The alien panicked this time and jumped away.
Even Noelle couldn’t help but turn around when 16 sword slashes formed with the crater being the epicenter.
Noelle widened her eyes. As a swordsman, she couldn’t do such a thing. No, she wasn’t even close.
To be able to swing sixteen swords at the same time took not only a full mastery of swords but also a high level of control over their energy.
“This is… the family’s Severing Destiny. Slash one time and produce sixteen slashes.” Noelle sucked in a cold breath. “In her current state, she probably could only do four times.
Thanks to this strike, the incoming spikes were sliced into multiple pieces.
Sullivan could finally reset their position again.
The alien and Sullivan noticed something. The elite class alien had come, but there was no alien coming here, so no one could help it.
Hence, the alpha class alien chose a drastic measure. It could continue attacking Noelle, but it doubted the attack would produce much success, especially since Sullivan was aware of that kind of possibility.
In that case, there was only one way for this battle to go forward.
The black cell on the alien’s body started to expand.
“Huh?” Sullivan widened his eyes in shock. The moment the black cell grew, the aura from the alien had changed drastically.
Sullivan couldn’t allow the alien to do whatever it was trying to do. He sent another sword strike to the alien, but the alien suddenly disappeared.
“!!!” Sullivan gritted his teeth as his eyes barely followed it. The alien moved so fast that it looked like it teleported.
And its target remained Noelle.
Sullivan hurriedly chased after the alien, using every bit of his power to increase his speed.
Noelle and Selena sensed the incoming presence with a loud bang due to the shock wave produced by the clash of their energies.
“Grandfather?” Noelle gasped, finding Sullivan not far behind her. He was stopping the alpha class alien in such an awkward position.
“Kh.” Sullivan was holding back his cough, but blood actually came out of his mouth. He really overexerted himself to block that attack.
On the other hand, Amphitrite and Lilith recognized something.
“What is that? The life force from the alien is being depleted.” Lilith gasped. As a vampire, she could see one’s life force clearer than most gods.
So, she realized the black cell was absorbing the alien’s life force.
“The black cell is empowering the alien by using the alien’s life force!” Amphitrite drew the conclusion.
Sullivan heard it clearly. He never thought the alien could actually fight this way. He had never encountered an elite class alien that was capable of doing so. Hence, there was no way to know whether this was unique to this alien or not.
Nevertheless, the power difference was clear. If this continued, he would definitely lose.
’Not only its physique, but also its energy is…’ Sullivan panicked when the alien was about to unleash its spikes. Since they were so close to Noelle and Selena, they would definitely get hurt by this attack.
Sullivan bit his lip before shouting, “Jump. All of you. NOW!”
