Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1547: Lonely

Chapter 1547: Lonely
Nathan had been stranded in this world. When he first came into this world, he was scared of dying.
He couldn’t even withstand a simple pain, so he couldn’t imagine experiencing excruciating pain like getting stabbed by a sword.
That was why he was trying to be as careful as possible. He took the opportunity to become Vivian’s student to save himself.
Nathan might be quite lustful, but it might also be a way to distract himself. He was trying to distract himself from the coldness of this world.
He was lonely.
The original Nathan might have parents in this world, but when he looked at them, he felt empty.
He longed for parents who could care for him, parents who could give him the warmth of a family.
Yet, when he was confronted by the truth, he felt nothing but emptiness.
In this lonely world, he was trying to build up the warmth that could keep himself going.
He blamed the original Nathan for bringing him into this world. The pain hurt so much that it felt like he didn’t want to continue and just wanted to give up, to the point where he thought experiencing a normal life, starting a normal family, and even dying like a normal person might be better.
But the weight of responsibility was crushing his heart. Why would this world grant him the power to summon divine beasts? Why would he be summoned to this world? There should be a purpose for him to come into this world.
Unfortunately, no matter how much he sought that answer, he found only guesses. He used those guesses to convince himself.
If Fenrir were standing here, he would probably say a similar thing.
Fenrir was the first partner Nathan had. Even though they often argued and their first interaction was not the best, he had witnessed everything that Nathan had done in this world.
Behind those cheeky smiles, behind those lustful comments, and behind that strong facade was a dark, cold heart. The heart that longed for warmth.
Even though Fenrir had never said it, the way he helped Nathan get Selena and the others, the way he supported him as a familiar, and even the way he played along with the punishment was not because he had lost his pride as a divine beast.
Fenrir had experienced it himself. The loneliness. When he had to be chained in a dark cave for a reason that he didn’t even know, he longed for someone who could accompany him.
That was why he helped Nathan. He didn’t lose his pride as a divine beast. He was simply accompanying Nathan as someone who understood his feelings.
Xolotl could act as Nathan’s mentor, but no one could replace Fenrir in his heart. Fenrir was a family. He had considered Fenrir his brother long ago.
As their family grew, Nathan felt more and more comfortable in this world.
So, yeah, he blamed the original Nathan. Why would he bring him into this world? Why didn’t he tell him anything about this summoning?
When he first summoned him, why didn’t he inherit the original Nathan’s talent?
If he had anything that linked to the original Nathan, he could probably become more assured when stepping forward. He wouldn’t have to be so desperate.
At the same time, he couldn’t hate the original Nathan. On Earth, Nathan had experienced what it was like to be beaten by the person who was supposed to love him.
He felt lonely when the person who was supposed to be there for him neglected him because of narcotics.
His mind had been wandering between so many worlds in his imagination. He had escaped this lonely world for a much more vivid world where he could do things that he couldn’t do in this world.
So, bringing him into this world and allowing him to live in a world like the one he had dreamed of was something that Nathan always felt grateful for.
That was why he could say, “I love this world.”
Evelyn and Luna felt the darkness in his voice. There was a trace of desperation.
They might have known Nathan as someone strong and capable of leading them everywhere, but that was just what Nathan wanted them to know. They had never seen the struggle Nathan had the whole time.
Nathan looked at Elysion and asked, “So, am I wrong to keep my secret?”
“I never said it was wrong.” Elysion shook his head. A smile formed on his face. “You two are very similar in that regard.”
Elysion continued walking. They eventually arrived at another hall at the end of the corridor.
When he opened the doors, Elysion showed what he had prepared the whole time.
On the right wall, Nathan could see the trace of his whereabouts. It was as if Elysion had been tracking him the whole time.
On the left wall, Elysion put any trace of the aliens and the important people that would die because of the aliens.
Last but not least, on the wall in the opposite direction, Nathan could see a big map. It was a map of the continent. He could see some markings on it, but he didn’t know what the markings meant.
Elysion said, “I, too, don’t know what my disciple was up to. I rarely talked to him before I returned here. And so, I had been investigating everything with the memory I possessed.
“Knowing that you are now a different person, I have always kept track of your movements all around the world. You have visited places that you have never visited before, so I want to know what the differences will be.
“Well, I certainly didn’t expect that you would be able to find people that you weren’t supposed to meet. Evelyn Lavender, sorry, Reckmoon, is it now? The woman over there. I don’t even know her name.
“Alavenya Silveresta, Bella Slavina, Iris Duncate.” Elysion squinted his eyes. “I don’t know them. I didn’t know them. Nevertheless, the change of fate has worked in a strange way. I thought that the Sword Saint’s fate had changed, but in the end, he couldn’t escape from his death.”
