Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1549: Magical World

Chapter 1549: Magical World
“…” Nathan sat down in front of Evelyn and Luna. “Go on then. Don’t you want to know the truth about me? Don’t you feel disgusted by the fact that I’m not even a person from this world? I won’t be able to understand your struggle or whatever.”
Luna shook her head. “I may be curious, but I don’t feel disgusted at all. Everyone has a secret that they don’t want others to know. I understand that. If I were disgusted by you, I would have left.
“However, you are who you are. I met you, not the so-called original Nathan. I know you, not him. Even that person told us that you were forced to come here without your own knowledge.
“You are the victim, not the perpetrator. That’s what I know. Please don’t degrade yourself. If you still want to keep this a secret, keep it. I may be curious, but I’m not interested in doing anything that will ruin our relationship.”
Evelyn nodded in agreement. “I was shocked, I was perplexed. I did have mixed feelings when I heard it. However, not a single feeling was about disgust, hate, or any of that.
“You are the one who helps me. You help Bella, Vivian, Melissa, and all those people. Not the other Nathan.
“If you wish to keep this secret from others, I won’t say it. Why don’t we make a contract as well? You have shown me in the past that it’s possible to create a contract that forbids someone to reveal your secret.
“We can form that contract right now. No, if you don’t feel safe, how about we do it on a whole different level? That contract can twist your fate, so can’t that contract erase my own memory? Erase it.”
Nathan clenched his hands into fists. He had been thinking about it in the past. If the original Nathan suddenly appeared and demanded that he return his body, would he comply?
If he hadn’t gotten attached to anyone, he would probably give it back. But he had been responsible for at least nine humans and dozens of familiars.
He couldn’t afford to return the body anymore.
However, keeping this secret when it was already out of the bag hurt his heart so much. It was as if there was an invisible hand squeezing his heart so tightly that he had a hard time breathing.
Nathan looked down, contemplating. “My name is Nathan Reckmoon. I am a human from a planet called Earth.”
“!!!” Both Evelyn and Luna tensed up. It looked like Nathan decided to tell them about it.
“Fenrir and the others? They’re beings from my planet. Gaia, Janus, or even the archangel Michael come from the same planet.”
“Archangel Michael?” Luna tilted her head in confusion. She had never seen anyone with this familiar before, at least not among Nathan’s people.
Evelyn uttered, “The Pope’s strongest familiar.”
“Yes. I guess I should start from what I’ve found first.” Nathan paused for a moment. “We were coexisting in this universe with a lot of other races, including the alien race.
“These aliens could be considered the top entity of our universe until the black cell appeared.
“The black cell should have controlled Yog-Sothoth, the ruler of space and time, and Azathoth, the reality itself.
“There should be many other outer gods who had been taken over by him in the past. The black cell was trying to get rid of any existence that could be a threat to it.
“That included the world Earth, where many powerful warriors were born. In the world where I came from, they were nothing but a myth, but after coming to this world, I came to learn the truth.
“Earth, along with other planets, was their target. Of course, they resisted. Unfortunately, they failed to resist completely.
“Their worlds were destroyed. The fragment of information that was stored by those worlds was absorbed by this world, which became the piece of data that was used to summon the familiars.”
“Those are the summoning fragments!” Luna gasped. Her family might have created this fragment utilization method, but she didn’t possess that information.
“Yeah.” Nathan nodded helplessly. “On the other hand, Earth failed to resist and chose to leave for possibly another universe.
“They needed to transport the entire world away from the aliens. However, they didn’t have enough energy to do it.
“And so, they needed sacrifices. One of those sacrifices was Xolotl.”
“!!!” Evelyn and Luna didn’t expect that Xolotl had such a sad background.
Nathan continued, “Their plan succeeded. The world I lived in was Earth, most likely far into the future. I couldn’t explain everything, but you could say that there was a time difference between this world and Earth. I’m not talking about an hour or a day. I’m talking about millions of years, if not billions.”
“What?” Evelyn and Luna didn’t expect the difference would be so big.
“I couldn’t explain everything. I don’t have the knowledge to do so.” Nathan shook his head helplessly. He was just a guy who managed to escape from both of his parents and somehow ended up in an orphanage, trying to make his life better.
He didn’t have enough expertise to explain anything advanced.
“Could you imagine a world so advanced that you, Luna, could talk to your brother on Erendtall with just a press of a button? There was no magical energy like ena. It could be achieved by anyone in this world.”
Luna gasped, “Really?”
“Yeah. Could you imagine that a chunk of metal could fly into the sky and take you from the Azilia Kingdom’s capital to the Holy Kingdom’s capital in just a few hours?”
“Without magic?” Evelyn shook her head.
“Could you imagine there was a terrifying weapon that could blast the Azilia Kingdom’s capital and all the cities within a few kilometers from it, leaving nothing but devastation? It could even prevent you from living in that place for years, hundreds of years, or even thousands of years?”
Evelyn and Luna blinked their eyes. They might be able to achieve it if they could somehow form their divine body or godhood.
But this was not a mere weapon. It could be called a divine weapon.
Yet, Nathan was saying that this kind of weapon was made by the common people.
