Chapter 1578: Higher Dimension Existence
Fenrir and the others also sensed this power. They instinctively looked back, wondering what was going on.
Fenrir squinted his eyes. “Qilin. Did you feel that?”
Qilin nodded. “Our summoner did it. However, I couldn’t sense any upset in the harmony within him. It must be his rule, but I just can’t make sense of it.”
Fenrir felt a bit worried, but since Qilin confirmed that the balance was maintained, it looked like Nathan had just produced something extraordinary.
“Still, I have never felt a rule this powerful.” Mae frowned. “Is he going to be fine?”
“I don’t know either. In fact, do any of us even know about it?” Fenrir shook his head. “We can probably ask him about it, not about the rule, but about his achievement. That rule must be something entirely different from what we know.”
“So, for now, we should focus on killing the aliens.”
“Yeah. Get back to work.” Fenrir nodded.
Selena and the girls approached Nathan. “What happened to your eyes?”
Nathan smiled. “I’m sorry. My eyes might not be attractive to you guys anymore.”
“No. Those eyes are giving a different kind of charm, but I can tell you that later. I need an explanation.” Selena’s expression turned solemn.
“It is something only I can do. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you anything right now. I’m sorry. Please trust me.”
Selena wasn’t convinced. “Are you sure you’re not in danger?”
“Yes. I’m not in danger. In fact, I’m feeling pretty good, powerful even.”
Seeing that sincere expression made Selena unable to argue anymore. Selena sighed and turned around.
Nathan turned to Noelle. “As for your teaching, I will leave it to Xolotl. However, I can only say that your grandfather is able to cut through my power. Now, can you?”
The answer was rather obvious. She couldn’t even comprehend this power, let alone cut it.
Xolotl added, “Your sword is still too blunt. To increase the sharpness of one’s sword, you need a lot of things. Your power, the rules, and other things. What kind of thing will you cut with your sword?”
While Noelle was busy with Xolotl, Garuda took another look at Nathan. “Are you sure you’re all right, Master? Is it really under control?”
Nathan nodded with a smile, reassuring him.
This might be a rule that could only have been created by him. Nathan applied a rule in his own rule.
His rule was pretty simple. Everything in this world was like a space within time. This would allow him to see the world from a third-person omniscient perspective.
But that also meant treating himself like the same ’thing.’ It was normally impossible because the one holding the rule was not just a space. It was the master of that space.
Nathan, on the other hand, was supposed to be a familiar. He was supposed to be a ghost that possessed the original Nathan’s body.
In other words, his body was also another space that he occupied. In other words, he created a rule to apply the same rule to his rule… a rule within a rule.
As a result, the power of this one rule was even stronger than anyone had made.
The rule was meant as a restriction for its owner. Yet, there was another restriction within the rule.
Nathan’s first rule had been completed. This type of rule would be more than enough to face Evelyn, if not Luna.
If he wanted to, he could probably fight on equal ground against Luna with this rule.
It was terrifying because the reason he created this rule was to go against the aliens.
A normal rule wouldn’t be enough to fight against Yog-Sothoth, let alone Azathoth. That was why, by using his own rule, he intended to transcend his own existence.
After searching for an answer on how to defeat those two Outer Gods, Nathan could only think of one answer.
It was to become a being of a higher existence than them. It would be to become a human who watched a video.
In other words, his power required him to ascend to a higher dimension where Yog-Sothoth or Azathoth was similar to a character in a movie.
To protect what he had, to not fall into despair, and to ensure his victory, Nathan didn’t hesitate to become a monster. He intended to become the next singularity.
That was why Nathan could answer Garuda just fine.
“Yes. I am still me. I won’t change, so you don’t have to worry, Garuda.”
Garuda wasn’t entirely convinced, but it looked like everything was indeed under control. However, he would still observe Nathan’s condition.
He had to discuss it with Xolotl or even other divine beasts regarding Nathan’s situation.
Nathan smiled at Iris, reassuring her.
Iris bowed deeply. She had always wanted to catch up, but that kind of goal made her wonder if she had put enough effort into it.
Could she really catch up to Nathan?
The helplessness she felt when that mysterious power was activated for the first time was probably something she wouldn’t forget for the rest of her life.
To shoulder the heavy burden, Nathan had to move much further than them. She just hated the fact that she was born a few years younger. If she had met Nathan much earlier and trained much further, she wouldn’t feel this helpless.
Nathan, on the other hand, understood their worries. The power made him feel like he wasn’t himself anymore.
But it was just a problem in his mind. Once he had sorted his thoughts, everything would return to normal.
Nathan had to create his rule carefully. Although the original rule was meant to bind him to a space, he had to ensure that time could also play a major role. After all, his elements were not split 50-50. They were split 75-25.
When the time was dominant, the manifestation of the rule would become different.
Nathan looked around. The world had truly become a board, as if everything was a simulation of a world that he was about to shape.
His first Divine Rule.
