Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1583: The Function of Karma

Chapter 1583: The Function of Karma
“The plan to kill the black cell…”
That was the most important plan, but it looked like Nyx didn’t know anything about this plan.
Nathan was shocked but disappointed at the same time. He couldn’t help but ask, “Do you know anyone who has this knowledge?”
Nyx shook her head. “Unfortunately, no.”
“So, we either have to summon a random god that might have the knowledge or get this information directly from the alien?”
“Yes.”
“Who is collaborating with you?” Nathan asked.
“One of the outer gods. I believe the name is Nyarlathotep.”
Nathan’s eyebrows twitched. The answer matched what they currently knew.
It looked like this one Outer God had been planning everything all this time.
Nathan might be unable to figure out everything, but Nyarlathotep would definitely make it clear once they met.
Nathan looked down, contemplating. He asked another question. “I only have one more question. There were so many warriors fighting against them in the past, yet all of you still failed. What makes you think we will succeed? Our strength is incomparable to the old gods.”
Nyx raised two fingers. “There are two big reasons. First, it will be as I said earlier. Without any mark from the supreme being, we have a better chance. Second, because of you.”
“Me?” Nathan tilted his head in confusion.
“Yes. To be able to reach this far, you must possess extraordinary talent and tenacity. In addition, your power is similar to Yog-Sothoth. Even I feel something different from your rule. I can’t figure it out yet, but I’m sure you have the potential to do it.”
“Well, I will certainly do my best, but I can’t promise anything. We’re talking about a singularity after all, not to mention there is a time limit.” Nathan shook his head helplessly. If they had more time, Nathan could probably do it.
Nyx nodded in understanding. “That’s why I will be supporting you and, of course, my summoner.”
Nathan thought for a moment. There were a lot of questions flowing into his head, but Nathan knew that he would get no answers to these questions.
So, he announced, “For now, let’s have a rest for another thirty minutes. After that, we will head to the next destination. We’ve stayed here for far too long, but I need a bit more time to absorb everything I’ve just learned.”
Nathan immediately walked away without waiting for their reply. The Summoners War.
To think the meaning of this plan was almost as the name implied. Humans wouldn’t be able to grow strong enough to match the singularity. So, they needed companions. Those would be gods and goddesses of the past, specifically the true gods.
Nathan had to inform the others of this matter. Bella, Evelyn, and Luna didn’t have true gods as their familiars.
At the same time, Luna had once told him she had her own path and had no intention of summoning another familiar any time soon.
Evelyn had also refined her ability. With the new power, she wasn’t lacking in firepower. But it wouldn’t hurt to have a true god by her side. This way, she wouldn’t need to wait for her familiars to form their divinity.
From this point on, having divinity would be the requirement.
He was most concerned about Bella. She probably needed to give her a god that focused on illusion, like Loki or Goddess Maya.
He believed both of them were at the true god level if he followed their myths correctly.
Nathan chose to spend time considering all possibilities.
…
On the other hand, Selena confronted Nyx directly. “I’m aware that my current strength isn’t qualified to enter your eyes, but I’m planning to be in charge of everything, including my familiars.
“I am aware of your role in the so-called ’Summoners War’ and your abilities. However, I plan to prove that I’m qualified.
Nyx smiled, not feeling offended. “Little girl. I think you are mistaken about one thing. I couldn’t care less who summons me. I’m not a scheming type. If you can be the brain, then so be it.
“Unless I consider your reasoning unacceptable, I plan to follow your orders. However, I need to make myself clear. This order is not between a superior and a subordinate. It’s between two equal people.
“And I want you to remember one thing. As long as you are participating in this Summoners War plan, I can give you everything you need, whether it’s strength or ability. Just don’t betray him.”
Selena was a bit surprised by her statement. Her character was different from Gaia’s.
It seemed that those who had participated in the battle or the plan had their characters changed. They supported the plan even if they had to humble themselves.
But this was convenient for Selena.
Selena nodded with a solemn expression, saying without a shred of doubt. “I’d rather kill myself than stab him in the back.”
Nyx smiled. “Let’s talk about you, shall we? I’ve gotten some knowledge about you after the summoning, so I guess I can offer three pieces of advice.”
“Please.”
“First, your familiars are quite strong. Lilith, Amphitrite, and I aside, the rest can’t be ignored either. Right now, Risa and Ying Zhen have the highest potential. I believe it will just be a matter of time before they can form their respective rules.
“And since Risa is a vampire, the same as Lilith, you can gain another karma through a different way.
“I know you are a bit skeptical about this method, but you need to rely on him a bit more.”
“You want me to suck his karma?” Selena frowned.
“With that amount of karma, it won’t be as harmful as you think. Do you know the usage of karma? It’s the most mysterious power in the universe. And one of the usages that I know is to strengthen your divinity.
“After creating a rule, you need to nurture that rule with your power. However, those with karma can also use their karma to nurture that power, which results in amplifying their abilities.
“Why do you think gods perform miracles? It’s to gain karma for their own use.”
