Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 1669: Victory

When the battle in the third line of defense began, the soldiers went all out right away.
It was as if they had been waiting for this moment.
It looked like Regina had raised their morale in a roundabout way, but people thought this would be where they buried all these aliens.
Nathan didn’t like the idea of giving false hope, but he didn’t say anything else. There was no need to break everyone’s hope if they really had the chance to defeat the aliens here.
So, Nathan focused on taking down the elite class aliens.
The battle was fierce as the aliens grew desperate. With their numbers decreasing over time, the aliens realized they might end up losing this battle. They had to do something to change the outcome.
Unfortunately, no matter what they did, Nathan would be there to stop them.
Nathan took down one elite class alien after another, gradually lowering the number of elite class aliens to two hundred.
Once it went below two hundred, the soldiers started to realize the pressure from the aliens had lessened. They became even more fired up.
This was truly the last fight, so every soldier gave everything they had.
Nathan continued to kill the elite class aliens, but nothing big happened for a while.
The number of casualties kept increasing, but it was still manageable.
Everything changed when the elite class aliens were reduced to a hundred.
This was the opportunity they had been waiting for. Nathan and his familiars alone could handle a hundred elite class aliens by himself, meaning that other girls could focus on surrounding them.
In that instant, Nathan gave an order for the encirclement.
“!!!” Regina and Ternius were surprised, but this was what they had been waiting for.
“You go, girl.” Ternius smirked. “I’m protecting this wall.”
“All right. I’ll leave it to you.” Regina nodded. She didn’t argue further. In fact, there was a sense of camaraderie built between the dynasty and the empire.
After knowing the true terror of the aliens, they realized they had to unite. There were rare sights of the empire’s soldiers protecting the dynasty’s soldiers and vice versa.
Once the order had been given out, Regina leaped to the left and took charge of the soldiers here.
Regina shouted, “This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. All summoners, use everything you get and push! We’re going to eliminate all these aliens here and now!”
“Oohhh!” The summoners cheered. They had waited for far too long.
Without missing a beat, they followed Regina to gradually overwhelm the alien army’s right side.
Nathan, on the other hand, split his team into two. Thanks to Selena growing further as a captain, Nathan didn’t have to say much and just left Selena in charge of the second team.
The first team, led by him, focused on eliminating the elite class aliens. Meanwhile, Selena led the second team and used their overwhelming power to start pushing back the aliens.
The two sides pushed the aliens further and further to the center. As a result, the aliens started to have a harder time moving. Some aliens even got squeezed by other aliens due to the shrinking pace.
This was what Nathan was aiming for. Once their movements were restricted, the aliens would be easier to kill.
Of course, Ternius’ role was important. Since they were being pushed to the center, the pressure on the center increased drastically.
Ternius used everything he had to ensure that the fortress didn’t fall, or this entire plan would end in failure.
Fortunately, they held on. One of the biggest contributors was actually Iris. With the space becoming denser, Iris’ attack could blow up more enemies.
Nathan was confused. He had been waiting for the aliens to show something special for his jinx to be completed. He wondered if they were split not because of his jinx but because of something else.
Unfortunately, Nathan had to focus on eliminating the elite class aliens for the time being.
It took him another hour and a half before he managed to take down the remaining elite class aliens.
Due to how many aliens died here, a blood lake formed. The people didn’t expect that they were able to withstand the attack from all these aliens.
It would surely become one hell of a story to tell to their children or grandchildren.
“Haa… Ha…” Nathan panted heavily. He had used quite a lot of energy. At this rate, he would have a hard time fighting against the aliens on Gratzel.
Fortunately, Elysion claimed he could stop them for a few days. Since he managed to take these aliens down in less than a day, he could use one or two days to recover while the people handled their loot.
Regina and Ternius rushed to Nathan as soon as there were no more aliens standing.
“Nathan!” Regina looked at him, wondering if this was the end.
“Yeah.” Nathan nodded. “You’ve won. However, we haven’t won yet. We need to return to our continent right after. Unfortunately, I can’t let your men celebrate yet because we don’t have time to do it.”
“Don’t worry. I know that. But why do you look worried?”
“I was expecting something worse to come out, but nothing unexpected occurred.”
“If there was nothing special, shouldn’t you be rejoiced?”
“Yeah…” Nathan smiled wryly. He knew about his jinx, so he knew something special was going to happen. “Anyway, I need your people to start digging the cores. After they’re done, we’ll go back immediately.”
Although Regina didn’t understand the entire problem, she could only respect Nathan’s decision. They won because of Nathan after all.
Ternius smiled and said, “Still, the soldiers are anxious. You should at least announce our victory as the commander-in-chief. Don’t you think so?”
As expected of the war hero, he definitely understood the mood of the soldiers. They were anxious, wondering if this was truly over.
Nathan sighed before using his energy to boost his voice. He raised his fist. “All aliens have been defeated by us. This is our victory!”
“Oohhh!”
