Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts - Chapter 998: Quick

Chapter 998: Quick
Lucas and Sandra pondered for a moment. Lucas said, “Look at the situation around the academy first. Although it is faint, I notice there’s someone at my level hiding nearby. If you look closely, there are also strong people around.”
“!!!” Sandra widened her eyes in shock. It was true. Unless she fully concentrated her senses, she wouldn’t be able to pick up their presence. “This… This is indeed a trap.”
“Yeah.” Lucas nodded with a serious expression. “If this is indeed a trap, we have no other choice but to retreat.”
“But since we know they’re hiding there, can’t we snatch the medicine somehow? Fighting them will be hard, but if we just snatch them and escape through your portal, we should be able to do it, no?”
Lucas contemplated. “That’s indeed true. Although that person is the same level as me, which is probably that vice commander of the Summoner Division, I can still easily escape from him.
“If we take into account that flaunting brat, there are only six people of your level along with that vice commander.
“They’re stronger than us and if they work together, it won’t be weird for them to take us down. However, we can escape. We have more preparations compared to them. Besides, we have a few things that can distract them.”
Although they were losing in terms of numbers, they were just counting on humans. They still had other things to make up their number.
“If we do nothing, those people will be able to cure them. So, why not make use of everything that remains and create an opportunity to get the best out of it?” Sandra squinted her eyes.
Lucas couldn’t help but agree with her idea. If they managed to get the medicine, they would be able to figure out what it was and somehow create something that couldn’t be dissolved by the medicine.
There was also a chance for the medicine to be fake. Hence, they had to confirm this information.
“Should I bring out some reinforcement as well?” Lucas squinted his eyes.
“Who are we going to ask?”
Lucas thought for a moment before lifting up his hand. “Why not ask?”
He activated the ring artifact and said, “This is Lucas. I’m with Sandra right now at Axia Academy.
“We’ve encountered a problem. There’s a medicine that they claim to be able to remove the alien from inside their body.
“We would like to check it by popping out all the aliens, but this is clearly a trap. We want to get the medicine and escape right away, but even with the aliens in this town, we’re afraid we don’t have enough people to pull out safely.
“Please relay this message to our lord and ask for his confirmation.”
…
Inside the Divine Hand headquarters, a man in his late twenties stood up after hearing the report. He hurried to the most important room in this place, finding Garam Haygaiden inside.
“My lord.”
“Eyewood. What are you doing here?”
Eyewood hesitated for a moment before explaining everything he got from Lucas.
The report made Garam’s face turn grim. “So, you’re saying they have such medicine?”
“To prove it is pretty simple. We just have to pop out all the aliens hidden inside the academy and the townspeople around the academy.
“More importantly, we know this is a trap, and Lucas seems to have found out their location. 1 arcane level and 6 grandmaster level summoners. There might be more strong individuals inside the city, but there is no report about another arcane level or even beyond that.”
Garam fell into deep thought. “What do you think of this?”
“This is a big decision. On the one hand, we might fall into their traps and suffer some losses. On the other hand, if we don’t test it, they might be able to save those people and we have to start our plan from scratch.
“However, do you remember the incident regarding the Black Cat Organization, my lord?”
“I do. What about it?”
Eyewood raised one finger. “Does my lord remember that they’re attacking us with multiple arcane level summoners, four to be exact?”
“Indeed.”
“I suggest we fall into their trap willingly. Of course, blindly falling into their trap isn’t good enough.
“Hence, it’s better if we pop the aliens right away. If we see there’s no one inside the academy turning into an alien, we know the aliens are real. This way, we know we have to snatch the medicine and learn about them before hiding again to counter their plan. This time, we will be more unpredictable.
“To snatch the medicine, we will pop the aliens all around the city as well, making the hidden experts take care of them.
“During that time, we will snatch them and finish the mission in less than thirty seconds. This amount of time won’t be enough for them to assess the situation of the city and deal with them.
“However, there’s a chance the trap is much higher than our expectation. Hence, we suggest using the three new Hands instead of the old ones. They don’t have much information and can be discarded at will.
“At least, they are strong enough to tell us if the mission is a failure or not by using the communication artifact.
“If possible, let Lucas stay there to assist them from afar and prepare for another teleportation. Even though they’re disposable, we can’t throw them away so easily.”
The plan Eyewood gave was reasonable. He carefully considered the enemy’s strength and also the worst-case scenario.
“Still, there’s one arcane level there…”
“It can’t be helped. Their sacrifice will be remembered.”
If they didn’t execute this plan, they might end up losing the entire big plan without them realizing it.
The risk was definitely high, but this mission was necessary.
“We can’t throw them away easily. Just tell Lucas to send that old man away. Since we can finish the plan quickly, they should be able to retreat safely once that old man is out of the picture.
“Tell Sandra to retreat and send Karen and Baral to assist Lucas. They have to finish the mission in 30… No, 15 seconds and retreat right away.”
“Understood.”
