- Chapter 808 808: Caught?

Looking at the statue, which was brimming with divine energy even more potent than the one he had found in the Sea Kingdom, Nox’s first instinct was Astralux.
With her spatial element, the jellyfish was the only one who could help him take the statue unnoticed by simply creating a small pocket dimension.
Unfortunately, he could not do that now. He was not present in person, and he could not summon Astralux to the location. That meant he would have to be there physically to do whatever he wanted.
However, that was easier said than done. Infiltrating the castle would be quite difficult, but at the same time, it was not impossible. He was more than confident in his skills.
Suddenly, his gaze shifted toward the seaside behind the statue. There was a broken walkway leading down toward the rocks below, a place where someone skilled enough could arrive quietly by boat at night.
“The mini watchtower would spot them easily,” he thought. He discarded that idea and decided to stick with the initial plan, infiltrating through the castle.
“Perhaps with my Phantom Cloak, it should suffice.”
Thinking about the Phantom Cloak, his eyes drifted down to the thick chains binding the statue. Those would certainly be a problem.
At that very moment, a calm and deep voice sounded behind him.
“You should not be here.”
His body stiffened. Not because the words were loud, but because the aura behind them was heavy. It felt as though a mountain had stepped into the space itself.
He already had an idea of who it was. There was only one person on the entire island with such a distinct presence. Slowly, he turned around.
When he fully did, there he was.
Andre stood there. There were no guards behind him, just him alone, his hands clasped behind his back, his gaze fixed on Serene as though he could see straight through her skin.
Something told him that he actually could, and that realization sent a cold shiver down his spine, a feeling he had not experienced in a very long time.
He kept Serene’s face calm, forcing her expression into its usual cold confidence.
“Father,” he said evenly.
Andre’s eyes did not soften. They moved from Serene’s face to the statue, then back again.
“You left the meeting,” he said. “Yet you returned to the castle and immediately drifted here.”
He did not answer too quickly. He knew this moment mattered. He knew very well that he could not afford to slip up.
He tilted Serene’s head slightly, as if annoyed.
“You said the target was the statue,” he replied, keeping his tone controlled. “I wanted to confirm its security myself.”
Andre watched her for a long moment.
The air felt tighter. The wind from the sea continued to blow, yet the space between them felt sealed. If not for his perfect control, he would have lost his composure completely.
Andre took a step forward. Pressure descended instantly, and he struggled to maintain control. Then Andre said something that nearly shattered his composure.
“Do you think I do not know my own daughter’s habits?”
His eyes narrowed slightly, but he made sure it resembled Serene’s usual pride. He did not respond, deciding that silence was the best option, even though his heart was beating wildly.
Andre walked toward the statue and placed his palm on one of the chains. It glowed faintly in response to him, reacting in a way that stirred deep curiosity within him.
“This is not here for decoration,” Andre said. “You know that.”
He continued, “Terra is a curse to this world. That class is a curse. You saw what happens when the weak are given beasts and begin to believe they can stand equal with kings.”
Andre’s words confirmed his earlier suspicion that the Imperians had knowledge of beast tamers long before he ever arrived in this world.
“You fought today, didn’t you?” Andre asked suddenly.
His heart skipped a beat as he wondered how he knew, but then it dawned on him. Andre was, after all, the king of the island. It would be strange if he did not know what happened within his own domain.
Andre lifted his hand, revealing a faint stain of dried blood on his finger.
“A soldier reported seeing shattered ice in the streets earlier,” he said. “He found it strange. The air carried frost, something uncommon on this island. So tell me, Serene. Who did you fight?”
“Just pests,” he replied carefully. “Some foreigners asking questions.”
Andre did not react like a man who believed him. He stepped closer. The aura intensified, strong enough that even through Astral Control, he felt the pressure pressing down on him.
“Do you think it was them?” Andre continued. “Those behind the beast taming resurgence.”
“I did not ask, Father,” he replied. “It could have been them, or it could not.”
“If it was them,” Andre said coldly, “then they will come here sooner or later. And when they do, this statue will not be taken easily.”
He glanced at the chains, then back at Andre. For a moment, he thought Andre would strike, but instead, he turned toward the sea.
“Go back to your room. From this moment onward, you do not move without my knowledge.”
“As you command,” he replied.
Andre’s eyes flicked back one last time.
“And Serene.”
He paused mid step. For a moment, he thought he had escaped suspicion, but that illusion shattered instantly when Andre spoke again.
“I know my own when I see them. So stop the nonsense, Beast Tamer. I can sense your presence all over her.”
His eyes widened in shock, his thoughts spiraling.
Andre had seen through him.
“So,” Andre said as he closed the distance between them, “how are we going to do this? Come out willingly, or I tear you out of her body?”
Author’s Note:
I sincerely apologize for the lack of chapters in recent days. Real life issues and school placed quite a strain on me. Supreme Beast Tamer is nearing its ending phase, so please do not forget to vote and support the book. I truly appreciate it.
