Nox stared at Krazhul without speaking.
The demon lord waited for a response, his arms still folded as if he had already predicted the outcome. His posture remained calm and confident. The runes on his armor glowed faintly as the guards around the chamber slowly tightened their grip on their weapons.
However, instead of replying, Nox moved.
He dashed forward. The floor cracked under his feet as he launched across the chamber with terrifying speed, a frozen sword forming in his hand in the same motion. The blade appeared in a burst of pale frost and immediately cut through the air toward Krazhul’s neck.
Krazhul’s eyes widened slightly.
The demon lord clearly had not expected the human to attack so suddenly.
The frozen blade clashed against his armored gauntlet with a loud impact that echoed across the chamber. Frost exploded into the air as the shockwave pushed several nearby guards backward.
Krazhul slid half a step across the stone floor before stabilizing himself.
“So impatient,” he muttered, although the slight change in his tone revealed that he had been caught off guard by the speed.
Nox did not reply.
He attacked again.
His sword moved faster this time, the blade cutting through the air in a horizontal arc aimed directly at Krazhul’s chest. The demon lord twisted his body and raised his armored forearm to block. The strike landed with a heavy impact that sent frost racing across the black armor.
Krazhul stepped back again.
The chamber filled with the sound of steel clashing as Nox pressed forward relentlessly. His movements were swift and precise. Every swing of the frozen blade was aimed to kill.
Krazhul retaliated. His hand shot forward and grabbed the blade mid swing. Flames suddenly erupted across his palm, melting part of the frost around the sword as he tried to push Nox back.
For the first time, Nox was forced to slide slightly backward across the stone floor.
Emerald raised an eyebrow as she watched.
Krazhul straightened slowly, rolling his shoulders as if testing his strength.
“You are strong,” he admitted. Then his voice hardened slightly. “But do not assume I am one of the weak fools you slaughtered on the lower floors.”
He moved forward.
Krazhul’s fist shot toward Nox with crushing force. The strike slammed into the frozen blade as Nox raised it to block. The impact produced a deep crack across the chamber floor as both of them were pushed apart by the force.
For a moment they stared at each other again.
Then both moved at the same time.
The fight exploded across the chamber.
Nox dashed forward with terrifying speed, his sword cutting through the air again and again. Each strike carried freezing energy that spread frost across the walls and pillars.
Krazhul responded with brutal strength.
His fists collided with the blade repeatedly, sparks and frost bursting across the room every time they clashed. The demon lord’s armor absorbed several direct hits, but the frost spreading across it slowly began to slow his movements.
Even so, he resisted.
At one point Krazhul managed to grab Nox’s shoulder and slam him into one of the pillars. The stone structure cracked from the impact as the demon lord attempted to follow with another strike.
Nox moved first.
His body twisted out of the attack and the frozen sword flashed again.
This time the blade struck Krazhul directly across the chest and the armor cracked.
A thin line of frost spread across the damaged rune plate as the demon lord staggered backward.
Emerald watched quietly from the side of the chamber.
“Not bad,” she muttered.
Krazhul breathed slowly as he steadied himself again. His gaze sharpened slightly as he studied the human standing before him.
“You are stronger than I thought,” he admitted.
Before he could react, Nox moved again.
This time the attack was overwhelming.
His sword strikes became faster and heavier, each one landing with enough force to push the demon lord further back across the chamber. The frost covering Krazhul’s armor spread wider as the runes flickered under the pressure.
Krazhul attempted to counterattack several times, but every strike was intercepted.
The difference in skill was becoming clear.
Within seconds the demon lord was forced completely onto the defensive.
But suddenly Krazhul’s eyes flashed.
The runes across his armor began to glow violently.
A surge of heat exploded from his body as dark flames burst outward in every direction. The frost covering his armor shattered instantly as the energy forced Nox to step back for the first time since the fight began.
The nearby pillars cracked from the sudden pressure.
Even Emerald straightened slightly as she watched.
Krazhul exhaled slowly as the flames continued to burn around him.
“You think this is over?” he said, his voice colder now. “You have forced me further than any human should.”
The demon lord raised his hand and the flames condensed around his fist.
For a brief moment the power in the chamber rose sharply.
Then he moved.
Krazhul launched forward with explosive speed, the floor breaking beneath his feet as his burning fist shot toward Nox’s head with crushing force.
For the first time the attack carried enough power to threaten the entire chamber.
But Nox did not panic.
He simply raised his hand.
The ground beneath Krazhul suddenly erupted.
Bang! Bang!
Massive pillars of stone shot upward from the floor and wrapped around the demon lord’s body before he could escape. Thick rock chains locked around his arms and legs as another wall of stone closed behind him.
In less than a second Krazhul was trapped inside a prison of rock.
The chamber fell silent. Krazhul struggled against the prison, but the stone structure did not move.
Nox walked forward calmly. The frozen sword dissolved into frost and vanished from his hand.
“You lost,” he said simply.
Krazhul glared at him from inside the prison.
“You could kill me now,” he said, his tone filled with disgust. “I will not reduce myself to begging for mercy.”
“That is where you are wrong,” Nox replied.
He shook his head slightly. “I will not.”
The demon lord frowned.
“What?”
“I killed the others because they were useless.”
His gaze sharpened slightly.
“But you are different.”
Krazhul’s expression shifted as he saw the strange look in Nox’s eyes.
For the first time, the demon lord felt that something was wrong.
“What are you planning?” he asked slowly.
Nox did not answer.
Instead he placed his hand on the demon lord’s forehead.
Krazhul immediately tried to pull away, but the stone prison held him firmly in place.
Then the mark appeared.
A glowing symbol slowly formed on Krazhul’s head.
The Mark of Infinity.
The demon lord’s eyes widened in shock as the energy forced its way into his body.
“What is this—”
The sentence never finished.
The mark burned brightly for a moment before fading slightly as the process completed.
Krazhul’s body trembled once and then went still.
Silence filled the chamber.
Nox stepped back calmly.
The stone prison slowly dissolved into the ground as the restrained demon lord collapsed to one knee.
Krazhul stared at the floor for several seconds before finally lifting his head.
His expression was no longer arrogant.
It was filled with disbelief and reverence as he looked at the dark haired youth standing before him.
“You…” he muttered. “What did you do to me?”
Nox turned away without responding. The fight was already over.
Emerald watched the entire scene with a wide grin on her face. She already understood what had happened.
“Well,” she said slowly. “That was entertaining.”
Nox walked toward the exit of the chamber as if nothing unusual had happened. His voice remained calm as he spoke.
“Now it is only the first born left.”
