Synthetic Wizard - Chapter 173 - 126: Clue to the Tower of Starlight

Chapter 173: Chapter 126: Clue to the Tower of Starlight
At the end of the Frostfall Month, the allied forces of Flashing Territory and White Tower Province finally completed their war preparations.
However, just as Kei and the Marquis of the White Tower were preparing to launch the final attack, an unexpected visitor suddenly arrived.
“Evans?”
In the council chamber, Sunan was taken aback upon hearing Kei’s words.
“That’s right.”
Kei and the Marquis of the White Tower exchanged glances, both looking somewhat peculiar.
“When we first received the letter, we suspected the other party might be plotting something, but we sent people to investigate, and it has been confirmed that the person there is indeed Evans, that legendary figure of royal blood.”
The Marquis of the White Tower nodded in agreement: “I have seen the image sent up from below, it is indeed Lord Evans, he looks exactly as he did fifty years ago.”
Sunan wondered, “This is strange. What is he doing coming to our territory alone? And specifically requesting to see me?”
Even a Tier Three Legendary Knight could hardly contend against a thousand hands.
In the territory of the allied forces, Kei could fully deploy the Golem Legion and Black Rock Cavalry Legion to besiege Evans, even if necessary, using a human wave strategy could forcibly wear him down!
After all, a Legendary Knight is not a Wizard Apprentice; simply strong in combat without so many strange methods, once surrounded, he would die all the same.
Not to mention Sunan is here as well.
“We are also unsure of his purpose, but I have already deployed the Golem Legion to surround the tavern where Evans is staying.”
Kei looked at Sunan seriously.
“So, do you want to meet him or should we take this opportunity to eliminate Evans?”
Eliminating Evans would rid this war of its greatest uncertainty, bringing victory within reach.
Sunan thought for a moment, then shook his head: “Forget it, I’ll go meet him.”
He had intended to meet Evans to see how the other managed to extend his lifespan.
Besides, he was curious about why Evans wanted to see him.
Seeing Sunan had made his decision, Kei and the Marquis of the White Tower said no more.
After all, it was in their own territory, even if Evans had a plot, there was no need to worry.
Arriving at the tavern where Evans was, it was surrounded on all sides, packed with numerous Stone Golems and Black Rock Cavalry, even Steel Golems.
One could say Evans was already in an inescapable situation.
Sunan became increasingly curious about Evans’ intentions; this legendary figure wouldn’t come voluntarily to die, would he?
Upon pushing open the tavern door, it was chilly and deserted inside, save for a plain-looking man around forty sitting at the table in the center, there were no other figures.
Sunan’s gaze fell on the man, and a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.
With his perception, the life force within the man was vigorous and surging, evidently in his prime, hard to imagine this being an ’elder’ over one hundred thirty years old.
Clearly, Evans was far from nearing the end of his life.
“I’ve long admired your name, Lord Sunan, thank you for agreeing to my request for a meeting.”
Evans stood up with a slight smile, gesturing to the seat opposite him.
“Mind having a drink with me?”
Sunan nodded and sat opposite Evans; on the table were two mugs of ale.
Judging by the color, it was the most ordinary ale from the tavern.
Sunan had no intention of drinking, and straightforwardly asked, “What is it you want, Lord Evans?”
Evans didn’t mind, smiled and said, “I’d like to make a trade with you.”
“What trade?”
“I know the royal family is destined to lose this war, so I come to beseech you to preserve some of the Kessler Clan’s bloodline, in return, I can provide the clues to the Tower of Stars.”
Tower of Stars?
Sunan’s heart startled, genuinely caught by surprise.
He never thought Evans came to discuss this matter, let alone expected him to have clues to the Tower of Stars.
Recalling Evans’ royal bloodline identity, Sunan had an inkling of comprehension.
“The Tower of Stars truly has ties to the royal family.”
Evans smiled slightly, “You could say so.”
“In fact, the Wizard who established the Tower of Stars back then was our ancestor of the Kessler bloodline.”
“Then why…”
Sunan hadn’t finished his sentence, though Evans already understood his doubt, shook his head ruefully.
“Although our ancestor left us the key to enter the Tower of Stars, entrants must possess Wizard aptitude or become a Tier Three Legendary Knight; unfortunately, through the years, only I have qualified among the royal family members to enter.”
Sunan raised an eyebrow, “So the reason you can sustain vigorous life is due to the Tower of Stars?”
“Indeed.” Evans admitted candidly, “I passed the knight trial of the Tower of Stars and obtained a Dawn Potion, extending my life by about a third.”
The lifespan of a Tier Three Legendary Knight is roughly 130 years, extending by a third means 160 to 170 years.
And Legendary Knights maintain their physical strength and absorption of elemental power, unless at life’s very end, their body remains in peak condition.
It’s no wonder Evans’ life force appeared so vibrant.
According to him, he could live another 30 or 40 years at least.
However, a potion that extends lifespan by a third is at least Tier Four, territory only Official Wizards can access.
The Tower of Stars did not disappoint as an Official Wizard’s legacy; just the knight trial reward yielded such a treasure.
