Synthetic Wizard - Chapter 53: Surrender Means Killing Half

Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Surrender Means Killing Half
“What happened?”
Davin, both shocked and furious, summoned his adjutant for questioning.
However, the adjutant was also at a loss.
“Sir, I don’t know either. The soldiers just suddenly flew away!”
“Useless!”
Davin’s face darkened. Ignoring further scolding of the adjutant, he turned his horse to personally take a look.
But the next moment, he stopped in his tracks.
Because the chaos in the distance was spreading in this direction.
As he got closer, Davin noticed a clue.
Amidst the crowd, it looked as if an invisible giant beast was charging wildly, sending soldiers flying along the way, bones snapping.
From a high vantage point, one could clearly see a gruesome path of blood plowed through the dense crowd, continuously advancing towards the spot where Davin and the three stood!
Seeing this, the faces of Davin and his companions immediately changed drastically.
“Stop it!” Davin almost roared the order.
Yet facing an unseen enemy, the soldiers couldn’t block it at all, merely standing in the way with their bodies, only to be sent flying in an instant, some even getting torn into pieces, blood splattering.
Such a bloody scene thickened the fear on the faces of the surrounding soldiers.
After dozens of soldiers died tragically and inexplicably, the remaining ones finally broke down, screaming in terror and fleeing in all directions.
“Death to deserters!”
Davin slashed a fleeing soldier like a headless fly, shouting fiercely.
But unfortunately, for soldiers whose minds were clouded by fear, this action was of no use.
Only a few knights braced themselves to stand guard in front of the three lords.
They were knights with land grants in villages, and any desertion on the battlefield would be settled and the village lands taken away.
“Damn it! What on earth is that monster?” Norwood’s expression couldn’t hide his fear.
“That’s my magical pet.”
A voice suddenly came from behind.
Everyone turned around suddenly, only then realizing that there was an additional person behind them at some unknown time.
Upon recognizing the face, Norwood’s pupils shrank sharply, blurting out:
“Sunan!”
In his mind, Sunan should now be in Black Stone City, so how could he appear in the middle of their army across the battlefield?
How did this guy do it?
Davin and Zolf were also somewhat surprised, but the two exchanged glances and quickly made a decision, drawing their weapons with a clang.
“Kill him!”
The surrounding knights rushed forward, murderous intent rising as they charged towards Sunan.
Compared to the terrifying invisible monster, evidently a visible enemy was somewhat easier to deal with.
Yet soon, they realized this notion was far from true.
In their sight, a burst of dazzling lightning suddenly erupted, the blinding light causing the knights to instinctively shut their eyes.
And that closing of eyes meant they’d never open them again.
The next moment, intense pain swept across their bodies, darkness swallowing their consciousness.
Davin and his two companions saw Sunan wave his hand, instantly causing countless bolts of lightning to burst forth, like long serpents snaking through the void, shooting in all directions.
In just an instant, more than a dozen knights were all turned to charcoal, dead on the ground!
Davin and his companions stared blankly at this scene, minds blank, mouths agape with no words to say.
What kind of power is this?!
Over a dozen knights, including even senior knights, were killed in seconds like this?!
The three turned pale, their gazes towards Sunan filled with uncontrollable fear and dread.
Only now did they suddenly realize the rumors about Sunan were true!
Whether it was the legendary formidable techniques of a wizard or the fact that Sunan had become a wizard, the truth of these rumors was strongly proven at this moment.
Seeing Sunan looking at them indifferently, Zolf was startled, first to react, and urgently shouted:
“Wait, I surrender.”
“As long as you don’t kill me, I can have my family pay a huge ransom!”
Zolf spoke rapidly, fearing that Sunan would act if he was slow.
Davin and Norwood quickly came to their senses too, hastily voicing the same words.
Not to mention the unfathomable Sunan, just the invisible giant beast alone on the battlefield was a terrifying war instrument that made one’s scalp tingle!
Even the most elite army would collapse facing such a monster!
They even doubted whether Martel could handle Sunan and the beast.
Regardless of anything, the most important thing right now is to keep oneself alive.
“Surrender?”
Sunan sneered and nodded:
“Fine, surrender and half will be killed.”
The three of Davin’s group were initially pleased to hear the first part, but then they were stunned right afterward.
What does “half killed” mean?
Before the three could figure it out, they saw Sunan casually raise his hand, and densely packed Wind Blades emerged out of thin air, sweeping in like a shower of arrows, shredding their lower bodies into a mist of blood!
It wasn’t until their upper bodies fell to the ground that the three reacted, letting out an incredibly shrill cry.
The strong physique of the knights allowed the three to continue screaming for four or five minutes even with only half of their bodies remaining, before they gradually became silent and died, filled with fear and despair.
Sunan withdrew his gaze and turned to look around.
With the Hidden Dragon charging back and forth, the enemies were either dead or injured, and those remaining had all fled completely.
Seeing this, Sunan directly ordered the Hidden Dragon to charge at the enemy army attacking the city.
The besieging army never expected enemies to attack from behind, and they were caught off guard.
The key was that the besieging soldiers had no idea where the attacks were coming from, and when they looked up, all they saw were their comrades’ bodies twisting and ripping apart, limbs flying, blood and flesh scattered everywhere, terrifying them and leaving them bewildered.
Martel also realized something was wrong at this point.
“What the hell are those three up to, how did they let the enemy through?”
But when he took a moment to look back, all he saw was a chaotic camp and corpses everywhere.
What happened?
Where’s the standby army?
How did they disappear in a blink?
Martel was utterly shocked.
Conversely, Kei, Brad, Jordon, and others, upon seeing the scene below, immediately thought of the giant invisible beast Sunan had raised, their faces showing expressions of joy.
“It’s Lord Sunan!”
“Lord Sunan is back!”
The name “Sunan” seemed to carry some sort of magic, and as soon as it was mentioned, the morale of the knights defending the city surged, and their attacks became significantly more ferocious.
“Sunan? That wizard?”
Martel’s face changed, and he vaguely realized that he and his people might have misjudged a very important piece of information.
Unfortunately, by the time he understood, it was too late.
Martel was decisive enough; upon seeing the tide turn against him, he didn’t hesitate for even a moment and swiftly retreated, jumping from the city wall intending to escape.
But the instant he landed, he suddenly felt his ankle tighten. Looking down, he was stunned to find a blood-red vine had inexplicably appeared around his foot, spreading upwards.
Martel immediately swung his sword to cut it, but the blood vine was surprisingly tough; his full-force blow only managed to sever one strand.
Moreover, he clearly sensed his strength being drained, absorbed by these eerie vines.
Not far away, Sunan slightly raised his hand, and the blood vine ring on his index finger glowed with a faint light.
He coldly smiled as he flicked his palm, and three Magic Missiles shot out with a whoosh.
Restrained by the blood vines, Martel couldn’t dodge, and could only watch helplessly as the three Magic Missiles came rushing in, piercing through his armor, causing his Fighting Qi shield to fluctuate violently.
The heavy impact left Martel’s face pale, and before he could regain his breath, another three Magic Missiles flew straight at him.
Under the shadow of death’s terror, Martel roared fiercely, unleashing his strong Fighting Qi explosively, ripping and shattering the blood vines on him with a crack, then turned and ran desperately towards the distance.
But after running barely ten meters, a chill suddenly rushed up his spine, instinctively raising his Longsword to slash at an angle behind him.
Clang!
The crisp sound of metal clashing rang out suddenly.
His Longsword seemed to hit something, with sparks flying out of thin air.
In that instant, Martel caught a glimpse of a giant beast’s outline with sharp teeth and claws, standing on all fours.
Before he could figure it out, the beast twisted violently, and its stout tail whipped through the air!
Bang!
Martel flew backward like a severed kite and spat out a mouthful of blood in mid-air, hitting the ground heavily with a thud.
Shush!
Three Magic Missiles followed closely, and Martel’s head instantly exploded like a watermelon!
Watching the headless corpse lying on the ground from a distance, Sunan slowly retracted his hand.
A Senior Grand Knight is indeed somewhat troublesome; without using the rune gemstone, teaming up with the Hidden Dragon was needed to kill him.
Martel’s death was like the last straw that broke the camel’s back, and the besieging soldiers could no longer hold on, starting to flee in panic.
Brad, Jordon, and other commanders immediately opened the city gates, leading their men to pursue the fleeing soldiers.
Kei strode up to Sunan, laughed heartily, and gave him a warm hug.
“Welcome home!”
